There is no guarantee your fans/teams will be able to enter the US. There is no guarantee your fans/teams will be able to return home. Don't come to the US.
Major League Soccer has been gaining traction for a few years now, teams getting big and rich enough to buy Messi for $150M for 2.5 years, Apple bought the US MLS distribution rights for $2.5B over 10 years, a lot of people stand to make a lot of money. A whole new untapped market for fifa and the teams and advertisers and every company who advertises.
It's really unusual how everybody seems to talk as if the World Cup is only taking place in the US this year. It's in Canada and Mexico too. Just shift the matches so they're mostly / all in Canada and Mexico.
I don't follow football so I didn't know this and it cracks me up. Japan and South Korea also did the World Cup together and it made sense because of their geographical circumstances. The USofA not being able to host on their own is comical (and that's on top of the question of who tf even wants to go there right now).
Edit: regarding the 2002 WC, Wikipedia says: "FIFA has said that co-hosting is not likely to happen again, and in 2004 officially stated that its statutes did not allow co-hosting bids.[7][8] This policy has since been overturned as the 2026 World Cup will be hosted jointly by the United States, Mexico, and Canada." Excellent show, lads.
and in 2004 officially stated that its statutes did not allow co-hosting bids. This policy has since been overturned as the 2026 World Cup will be hosted jointly by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.” Excellent show, lads.
Just tells you that the US is behind schedule and that Mexico and Canada should have been conquered by now. Another thing Russia spoiled with their war in Ukraine. /s
It's not that the USA can't host its own. It has already done that before. It's more that multi-country things are apparently in favour at FIFA right now, for some reason.
Whenever the economy of the United States is starting to go down, the US starts a war somewhere. During the war, someone has to sell weapons to them, and after the war, someone has to rebuild the country (and guess who decides which construction companies and from where get to do that). While the clock of those countries goes back a few decades, the industry in the US gets revitalized.
Now that the problem is internal, the US wants the rest of the world to be destroyed in order to put the United States back on its feet.
Frankly, I would say the better path is the one that’s already happening. The European Union, after more than a quarter century negotiating with the countries of South America (Mercosur) finally agreed to compromise. Canada signed a “no tariffs” agreement with China. NATO is sending troops to Greenland, not many, just enough that if the United States attacks, it will be immediately in war with every country with an army there.
The world is moving forward, as it happens when one side pushes too much. As Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney said while talking about the trade deal with China:
“We take the world as it is, not as we wish it to be.”
I keep thinking how you would have never expected this sort of thing from nearly any American even a couple decades ago. It feels like a sign of the times.
Yea those of us that tried kind of figured our allies would use some of that fucking intelligence they have been giving our country to fuck those of us that are trying over to maybe, i don’t fucking know, tell the world how they stole the election because they admitted it right on fucking TV!
Right after they fucking declared war on us on fucking TV!
But your fucking countries are in on it, too. Just you fucking wait and see. The rich that lead you sold you out too and are just waiting to cash in on you. If you let them do it to your greatest ally, you’re fucked.
Spoke like a true murican.
You're on point though, which means that because we have problems of our own, in part caused by you, we'll just let the Great US of A solve its own shit while we're busy solving ours.
The most aggravating thing is they've polarised themselves into thinking any outside force refusing to "fix it" is being sanctimonious.
Nah fam. this is something you've built from the ground up and entrenched into your culture, so you have to fix it. Outside forces imposing will end up with another iraq. (Or afghanistan. Or libya. Or Iran. ). Hell, even Germany was headed towards burying its cat turds until niemoller & co grassrooted the idea of collective guilt to come to terms with their crimes.
While I empathize with the sentiment, I've been listening to A People's History of the United States lately. My takeaway so far is that change is only allowed to happen by the monied interests that control our government when it becomes in their financial interest for it to happen.
Guns won't do it. Civilians 1) can't effectively opposed state violence with the arms and organization they're allowed, 2) our society is violent enough that killing civilians opposing the government will always be sanctioned by some.
Typically American to say "we can't do anything, we're helpless, yes we have guns but they aren't good enough". History shows it's totally possible to rise up against tyrants, even when they seem invincible and untouchable, and force a radical change benefitting all. Luigi showed everyone it's possible. Everyone says they support him but no one dares what he did. If no one does anything, everyone is just complying with a fascist dictatorship. So far only Republicans tried to change things, by attempting to shoot Trump and killing Charley Kirk. The rest just continues to use billionare's products, making them even richer and giving them even more power. All while complaining they hate it and can't do anything.
I mean, I get it, not everyone voted for him. My comment is bold and harsh. But on the other hand, it's not our responsibility to deal with their dictator. Of course I'm willing to help, and unlike the US without oil deals or for anything else. I'm willing to help and support refugees, people who are a victim of this regime. I can't change their system or do anything else I'm afraid. But I also think them doing nothing but complain is also not going to change anything. They aren't fighting for their rights in a democracy anymore, protesting isn't going to cut it if the regime doesn't care about the law and constitution, and doesn't recognize the judicial system whenever they feel like it. My grandparents and great grandparents joined the resistance during the second World War. I'm afraid the US is running out of effective legal, democratic options soon to fight the current regime and dictator.
It's not just that the people downvoting you are too comfortable to fight back, it's that by the virtue of being born in positions of extreme privilege (by worldwide and historical standards) they literally cannot conceive of a world where rights are acquired and retained through illegal or violent means, although every civil rights movement had an illegal and most often violent component to it.
There's a reason we're seeing pictures of Black Panthers patrolling the streets. They remember and understand that rights aren't handed out by benevolent elites, they are acquired through violence - either direct acts thereof, or the explicit threat of it.
I honestly don't know what to do about any of that. The task of educating Americans on the history of effectively protesting against authoritarianism seems impossible. For all that some aspects of their society are hyper-violent, the vast majority of the anti-MAGA crowd is astonishingly uninformed on the importance of unauthorized resistance, and all the major newspapers and social media platforms are actively suppressing attempts to correct those misconceptions.
It's fascinating. Trump is following in Hitler's footsteps closer than anyone could have predicted, but one area where the present differs from the past is that in the years before Hitler became chancellor, Germany was rocked by frequent acts of deadly violence between Brownshirts and Communists. However I cannot think of a single analogue for the 21st century. Some people on here are talking of Civil War - clearly out of their ass, but I'm not sure that there is a line that Trump or Vance could yet cross that would trigger acts of blue-on-red violence more notable than an average British football match.
Are Americans still scared of the British monarchy?
It's to rise up against a tyrannical government. THIS is the moment. All those people, including kids, have died during school shootings, accidents, gun violence, etc. to safeguard the right to have guns. It was all collateral damage, apparently all worth it, in case a rise against the government was necessary.
The entire world thinks it's crazy to give up so much safety, to risk your life and of your children, for a hypothetical situation in which it's necessary to rise up against the government. Now that this situation is created by themselves, they ask the rest of the world to intervene?
This is beyond the level of Idiocracy, because in that movie at least they listen to the smart guy.
The argument that your little piss ant semi auto AR-15 is going to do anything against a tyrannical government that can just predator drone your house has always been bullshit. They just like their toys and don't give a fuck about children dying.
An AR15 works fine for kneecapping ICE agents though. And yes, kneecapping, I'm against killing. Let them suffer in a wheelchair without benefits for the rest of their lives, as the regime doesn't give a fuck about sick and handicapped people. They'll probably die in a camp as they aren't useful workers, if the US continues the nazi Germany road.
Do you mean like that time you sat on the sidelines for three years of war and startes to act only when it looked like Germany might win Mexico over to attack you guys and you guys got scared of submarine war?
Or do you mean that time you sat on side lines for two years and started to act only when Japan sank some of your ships?
Or are you talking about the Vietnam or Korean wars that went so swimmingly?
Or the dozen military conflict after those that has only succeeded making middle east more unstable?
Or the more recent where you kidnapped a president from a neighboring country?
Im not really sure if i should be thankfull for any of those.
Since the second World War, the US is the country who keeps invading other countries the most. Next time my country is being invaded, the chance it's the US is the most likely. So please, keep it in mind before invading another country, and stop it from happening in the first place. And don't act like the US helps when a country is in need. It only helps if it profits oil, minirals, shady trade deals, etc. or does a dick measuring contest with someone else.
And if you're rusty on your history, let me remind you: only the US has invoked NATO article 5, no other country ever did. We don't need the US help, we need the US not to become the issue.
*the western world power structure invaded those nations.
Why you people act like you didn’t get shit and it’s all the big bad usa would be amusing if it wasn’t so stupid.
I’ll prove how fucking stupid you are:
If the usa went around bullying everyone and never gave anything to our UN allies then that’s fucking funny… explain the global intelligence apparatus that the major western powers all chipped in for that allowed the usa to do what it did? How about all of those not USA troops all up in those same damn countries? Explain why the fuck that isn’t on your countries? Are your countries so weak they’ve been bullied into doing all of this? Explain how the fuck your tax dollars funding those same fucking wars isn’t also your faults? You think your own countries decisions didn’t bear the same rotten fruit?
The UN isn't your allies, it includes China and Russia. Clearly you don't even know the difference between NATO and the UN.
that the major western powers all chipped in
You're stronger against your enemies when you're "friends" with the biggest bully. It's just the choice which bully to befriend.
How about all of those not USA troops all up in those same damn countries
You mean all those troops forced into the wars the US started? Yeah well, that's the downside of being friends with a bully.
Are your countries so weak they’ve been bullied into doing all of this?
Kinda, yeah. During the 30s and 40s we had the same issue as the US has today. When that was over, partly due to the US, they said they would protect us in the future in exchange of us not joining communism and helping them fight it. Every country wss exhausted after the war, so we didn't have much choice. Also, Stalin wasn't great either, so it was the best deal presented. Since then the US grew to become the biggest and strongest bully, capable to strike anything anywhere withing a few hours. And they used it to get rid of people and regimes unwilling to trade their souls to the US.
And we were stuck with the biggest asshole while being too weak to stand up against a bully. Until now, when war crimes and crimes against humanity went too far.
You think your own countries decisions didn’t bear the same rotten fruit?
Oh yes, I do think we are to blame for a lot too. But that doesn't change the fact the US is far worse and a huge fucking problem right now. We know that issue, like I said, we had it in the 30s and 40s. But it doesn't help when you say "but you're bad too!" when someone calls out your country is run by elected fascists and should just fuck off and deal with it yourselves.
We, the rest of the world, are done with cleaning up your shit.
Stop being lazy assholes and work on fixing your problems yourselves.
The tools of geopolitics aren't all that granular. The only thing an outside country can do is make your cities like the cities of Germany at the end of WWII, or like Gaza is today. If you're asking for other countries to fix your problems for you, that is the result.
Banning the US from the Olympics, World Cup or whatever doesn't change anything, and it probably would just be more fodder for your fascist propaganda.
Ending trade with the US? Yeah that's happening, but it won't be something that'll happen tomorrow. This is something that will happen over the next decade. You might even have a Democrat as President when things get really bad because of the shit Trump is doing today. And then you'll vote in another fascist. The stupidity of Americans has become incredibly predictable. Which is why no one can trust you long term.
You're just stupid, and there's no fixing stupid. And you have nukes. You're the guy that gave a monkey an uzi, and then wants someone else to deal with it. Nah, we're just going to stay away from both the monkey with the uzi and we're also going to stay away from the idiots that gave an uzi to a fucking monkey. You go take the uzi away from the monkey, you're the one that gave it to him.
I would never give a monkey an uzi, but my neighbors believed it was an awesome idea. The neighbors far across the pond think we’re all the same over here and that I’m to blame for the monkey having an uzi. So idk… I just pray we all survive this without everyone picking up an uzi.
Yes, writing off the nation where everyone is an idiot, that's armed with nuclear weapons, and has expansionist ideals and deciding to just leave them to their own devices because pushing back is possibly difficult or risky will work out great.
It should only be a problem is you're a nation in the western hemisphere without nuclear weapons, so I'm sure it's fine. Mexicans, greenlanders and Canadians aren't worth causing a fuss over, and I'm sure they'll stop there. Just ask Poland.
You're assuming that a whole bunch of countries aren't busy acquiring nuclear weapons right now. So when you're surrounded by countries with nukes pointed at you because you elected a child molester that destroyed all of your alliances, will you then admit that America is a stupid country?
The US invading Canada would be the end of the US. Yeah the American military is good at invading countries. Occupations, not so much. But unlike other failed occupations where you had an ocean in between you and the other country and you could just pack up and go home, there would be no going home from an invasion of Canada. Again something stupid that only an American would think is a good idea.
Y'all get emotional and want to do stupid things for the sake of your pride. Worrying about pride while you have a goddamn child molester as a President. Stupid people.
Why are you mad at me? I'm not the one saying we should do those things, nor did I vote for him or support him. I've done damned near everything an individual can do.
Americans aren't a monolith. Some of us are terrified of the things that are happening and want them to stop.
You're mad at the people who want it to stop and are desperately saying "we might not be able to stop this, please help".
You're arguing that people you think are stupid wouldn't do something you think is stupid. Think about that for a minute.
America's ability to occupy is more complicated than you think. We regularly set unattainable objectives, but it's not like we were forced out of Iraq or Afghanistan.
An invasion of Canada would definitely go poorly, but do you think it would go worse for Canadians or Americans?
Our invasion of Afghanistan lasted 20 years and cost us around 2,000 lives. It cost the Afghans more than 100,000. In excess of a million if you count non-direct deaths.
Failed occupations because they didn't complete their objectives, not because of an ineffective military presence.
I have no idea if we'd succeed or not in an annexation of Canada, and it doesn't matter. What matters is that optimistically millions of people would die, and they would be disproportionately Canadian civilians.
You're assuming that a whole bunch of countries aren't busy acquiring nuclear weapons right now.
I make no such assumption. The reality is it takes time to actually produce them. It can take years to build the equipment needed to start production on the materials. A nuke in 4 years isn't a deterrent to an attack in less than 3.
Y'all get emotional and want to do stupid things for the sake of your pride. Worrying about pride while you have a goddamn child molester as a President. Stupid people.
What are you even talking about here? Do you think my comment was in someway a statement of pride?
You're mad at the people who are saying they need help because they don't know if they can stop them from hurting you.
They're threatening me with economic hardship, my neighbors with deportation to a random country, and my friends with erasure. They're threatening you with starvation, bombing, death by infection, and being arbitrarily shot because your car was a convenient target.
It's our problem, but that doesn't mean it won't hurt you.
Just because it's your problem doesn't mean the rest of the world won't hurt you. Don't whine to me about how you didn't support Trump and do that bullshit American superiority thing where you imply threats to everyone else to show dominance. That's the big reason you're as fucked up as you are right now.
Understand the reality of the situation you're in. Stop thinking you're superior to every country in the world and think the world has to convince you to stop being bad guys with bullshit around sporting events or whatever. Start understanding we are heading to the point where what may happen is someone from another country might kill you for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It doesn't matter that you didn't support Trump or whatever excuse you want to make. You may end up dead and considered by history as just another body in an evil country that destroyed itself for stupid reasons.
I'm starting to hate Americans for just sitting around and thinking this shit is a joke or whining about democrats or thinking about anything else other than the evil you're all bringing to the world with your collective ignorance, arrogance, greed, and hatred. Will you still not take it seriously when you're driving across a bridge that the US military uses and you see a drone coming to take out the bridge you're on? Are you going to explain to the drone, you didn't support Trump? Complain about the democrats for the situation you're in?
Stop being stupid. All of your bullshit excuses don't matter anymore.
You are one dense person. You're literally asking me to understand what I said to you.
What part of anything I said to you implies I'm not taking it seriously? That I don't understand the dangerous path we're on?
You're saying it's an American problem, so we should fix it ourselves. I'm saying that we quite likely don't have the ability to hurt the people in power meaningfully before they escalate things further.
Saying you should stop giving us money because it's one of the only things that might hurt them or get people desperate enough to depose them before they start a war with Canada or Denmark isn't failing to take it seriously or not understand it.
I'm truly confused how you're ending up in that place.
Are you going to explain to the drone, you didn't support Trump? Complain about the democrats for the situation you're in? Stop being stupid. All of your bullshit excuses don't matter anymore.
Are you just using me as a punching bag because you're mad at Americans as a whole?
Trump is not a uniquely American invention and he's not the first bumbling dictator to gain power through populist bigotry.
However, there is a significant feedback loop with America outright rewarding craven Nazis, handing them "success" and then allowing them to continue perpetuating and emboldening people just like them.
Sorry. You got us all to fall for capitalism. Now our governments only think of the profits. They don't care about your personal freedoms and liberties. Or ours, for that matter.
You were so proud of your opposition to tyranny. You’ve been screaming “land of the free!” For a couple hundred years now.
It’s time to put up, or shut up.
All that privilege that came with “land of the free”? Your house, your full time job, access to education, freedom of speech, etc? Time to drop it all and FIGHT - like you’ve always bragged about! Always bragging about how great your country was, weren’t you? Then BE GREAT! Get 20 million in the streets of Washington, something might change. Yup, some people gonna die. Or they can disappear forever; dragged screaming and crying never to be seen again.
Give up your privilidge, and FIGHT FOR IT!
You slept while this beast crept into your home.
Put your dog down, and quit whining to the rest of the world.
The loud ones are the ones with their tongues on the boot. The rest of us have to figure out who each other are without the bootlickers finding and ratting us out. Some of us have been fighting for decades. You are not helping.
P.S. fascists are laying groundwork in your country too. What are you doing about that besides criticizing the US?
If you think the US is just some anomaly and not the canary in the coalmine of a global rise of fascism, you're in for a rude awakening. The US absolutely fucked it up, no question about it, and it's up to Americans to fix that mess, but pretending it's somehow contained and isolated is very shortsighted. "Fuck you, I got mine" is the exact type of attitude that leads to fascism. Nationalism is a problem even when your country isn't objectively fucked up.
To be fair, comparing people trying to do fascism in other countries to Americans hits more viscerally than comparing them to nazis at this point.
So, honestly, being critical of the US and calling out fascism and calling it "Like America" is extremely persuasive. Having Trump like you, as a political figure in the west, is a massive liability. Being seen as similar in any way is a massive liability.
Whatever fucking works. Don't let the bastards win. I just don't want anyone feeling secure in this being a US isolated problem, because it sure fucking isn't.
You're right, it isn't. I think there are a lot of cerebral dissections of fascism as a populist movement in the USA, but it's important to understand that cerebral dissections are an ineffective counter to any populist movement.
Populist movements need a simple hook. An effective counter needs a similarity simple hook. The USA has provided one.
I acknowledge it must suck to BE the simple hook : "This sounds like you wanna turn this country into the USA (everyone barfs)"
Once upon a time, not even that long ago, that same simple hook could motivate positive change. For right or wrong, the cultural dominance of the USA made it an easily accessible shared point of reference.
But, it is what it is. Work within the bounds of the reality that exists.
What weird image of us do you have that you think we have good jobs, nice houses, and access to education?
60% of us live paycheck to paycheck, sometimes while working more than 1 full time job.
Education is -$50k at base. A basic shitty (prone to mold and problems in a few years) new build house or nice old house in need of work (like a new $20k roof) costs on average a half a million. Rent is $2-3k/mo. And healthcare can bankrupt you.
We have no good mass transit outside of major cities and vehicles now cost $30k to start.
Minimum wage is still $7.50.
As such most people came into this regime hanging by a thread, already fearful for their capacity to provide for themselves or their kids.
All the more reason to fight for a better future, doncha think?
They're pushing the buttons for revolution, I hope for the best for the American people, against the tyranny of their leaders. The precipice of the future is laid bare on the stage, it's time for the people to wake up and wrestle their lives back from the greediest motherfuckers we've ever witnessed.
Part by design, but also, hard to admit that we already lived through the good times, and that we have to fight to have them again.
And yes, I'm one of those anxious people waxing poetic, I just hope my words are encouragement to someone who needs it, in the mean time just try to be a good member of your community, that's all any one of us can do, and it does really help at the end of the day.
Not many people are even in a good position to be an effective white knight, and the ones that are have spent their whole life trying to be in those places and don't want to jeopardize it.
Like, I'm Canadian, and not near the border, best I can do for the most part is keep apprised, encourage, and engage with my local community.
I encountered an exchange a year or so ago where someone was encouraged to riot. They gave a very definitive, honest reply: “I don’t know how.”
Like it or not, like that whole Fight Club scene about how difficult it is to start a fight, I think the statement is middle of the bell curve defining. Only now, we have a younger generation crippled by internal shit, lack of unmoderated interaction experience, unable to even pick up the phone, so they’re not going to go outside to where people are. Just sit at home and hope someone else takes care of it.
General strike is likely the way. Less interactive. But it would take bank/mortgage and landlord support to not break the people doing it. An all in general strike.
Less of a snake and more a hydra. Trump needs to be dealt with, but more evil will pop up in his place. You need to get the team to eliminate the lot of them and not just the leader.
And no letting Nazis escape into the shadows and only barely punishing the powerful ones. Every single one needs to be dealt with from the top to the very bottom including any crumbs that try and escape.
The head is not just the eyeball. I have a very long list, but I would settle for the VP, the cabinet, all of Congress, and six Supreme Court justices. If I had my druthers, the list would probably have 40M assholes on it in just the U.S. There are a bunch more globally.
Yes, but if you chop off a hydra's head, two more will grow in its place. That's a good thing, because with today's GOP, those two heads will immediately start snapping at each-other and start ignoring everything else.
The current hydra's head may be droopy, and its brain may be filled with lesions and lead. But, it's able to focus on other things, at least for a bit, and direct its body to fight them. As soon as that head is gone, the other heads will probably tear the body apart as they fight each-other.
Martial law is the replacement of civilian government by military rule and the suspension of civilian legal processes for military powers. Martial law can continue for a specified amount of time, or indefinitely, and standard civil liberties may be suspended for as long as martial law continues. Most often, martial law is declared in times of war or emergencies such as civil unrest and natural disasters. Alternatively, martial law may be declared in instances of military coups d'état.
I think that hate the American people, too, and a boycott is probably something they would love. These rich (think about how much musk has) can outlast most of the world. So I think the answer lies somewhere else, but I’m not saying not to try it.
The US was told that if they voted it in, the world couldn’t help.
We did help by advising them to vote because it was the easy way to stop it. They didn’t listen, told the world to mind its own business, made excuses like work et al as why they couldn’t vote. Some said it was their right not to vote.
That was the easy method and since we weren’t entitled to that vote, we couldn’t help there either. Now it’s one of the harder ones; either shutdown to force action from politicians who can stop it, or civil unrest. The first is easier, the circumstances the same. We cannot help, it has to occur from within.
No and no, but that hasn't kept European politicians from treating it as such. Especially our German "government" is full of sycophants kissing Silicon Valley's arses.
Compared to Europe? Yes. If we are cutting out morals, anyways and I’ve got some bad fucking news for the countries that helped America get this big with the large global intelligence apparatus: No one gives a fuck about morals but the plebs, maybe.
The rich can weather the chaos just fine. They can use the opportunity to buy even more when the prices are lowest.
Things that would wipe a normal persons retirement or kids college fund out are seen a "market corrections" and investment opportunities by these ghouls.
You need to stop work, stop buying shit, just shutdown as much as you can and starve production. That’s easier than losing more lives, you’re going to lose jobs you don’t want and healthcare which doesn’t help with both, and the last makes getting either of those or other services when needed much harder.
Please, stop being stupid and start doing the easiest, right thing. Don’t prove Churchill right again.
While I do support the world doing all it can to end the U.S. empire, I think it is a case of "you broke it, you fix it". The USA was born out of genocide, grown on slavery, and continued to expand from imperialist exploitation of every county and people they could exploit. The U.S. citizenry has been just fine with supporting (or at least turning a blind eye to) dictatorships and fascism all over the planet, but now that they are getting a taste of it at home it is suddenly a problem.
The world can't mend your problems, USA, YOU need to clean your own fucking house.
I'm afraid the only thing that will work is if it comes from the inside. You guys need a social and political revolution and I don't think your people are ready for it.
These two actions aren't mutually exclusive, you can do both. When people study this time period, do you want your country and leaders to be the ones who complied with an authoritarian government or the one that pushed back on it and helped bring about change?
Distract the fucker, get more people nationally against him, don't target him directly if you qre too afraid, go after those that support him, don't buy the shit they sell, don't allow their services in your country. Unfortunately we are in this together whether we like it or not.
The Democrats barely lost both elections to Trump. Let's see what happens when a Republican isn't running against a weak woman Democratic candidate with no real campaigning skills or charisma who expected the feminist movement to anoint her to the presidency.
Full embargo: no trading of goods and services whatsoever.
Boycott any international events in the US.
Ignore any US patents, royalties, copyright and similar devices.
Invite usonians abroad that only have an US passport to kindly leave.
Seize all murican assets abroad, like company headquarters, factories, etc.
No travel.
No trading in USD.
The small caveat being that some areas are overly dependent on US (like the EU on AWS and Visa/Mastercard), so step 0 would be (re)building local infrastructure.
Edit suggested action to muricans: follow the Luigi way. Edit2: mention the Epstein files at every chance possible.
Half of America didn't vote for trump, and they're many Americans protesting. I can't say all Russians are bad, it's Putin and his oligarchs, just like Trump and the GOP, not the American people in general!
Would you please stop this crap. Everyone who didn't meet up for their democratic rights are just as acountable! Stop that vote dodger shit. America decided to be new nazi germany. Deal with the shit that follows.
Stole it ? By going on Joe Rogans podcast? Turn over Elon? There was still 40% of people in the USA who didnt give a fuck. The 39% hillbillys and christians won that election. It wasn't really necessary to "steal" anything.
I appreciate the cry for help, but this truly is an international problem that requires a domestic solution.
If you will not calm your own tits, what makes you think you'll tolerate the rest of the world calming your tits for you? How long would this external tit calming be required? what happens when the external source of tit calming stops?
Try to see it for what it is: the Americans you would wish were in charge have had their power and representation stripped away, and an empire has been brought low. Americans used to be quite proud, and this sort of sentiment from one would have been unimaginable twenty years ago.
You're probably correct that external forces aren't going to effect instant or significant change. Empires come down in a specific way, usually for internal reasons, right?
The end of an empire is too big for any one person to feel like they can have an effect. We're all just caught in the gears of history.
Germany? Y’all just… pretend like that never happened? I guess it’s not just the fascists that forget how bad it was. Well, since you forgot…
Germany didn’t deal with its own bullshit and neither could Europe because they waited for the Germans to deal with their own tit calming and it was too late.
We could all just threaten to stop enforcing us copyrights and start using the euro as the reserve currency. The US oligarchs would rope in their rabid pitbull before the laws hit the books.
You only have to threaten the profits of like 10 men and it'd all be over.
Invade us. I wish that were possible. Put the world forces together, nuke Montana to make a point (with a bit of warning to get all 11 people out). The only way fascism has been stopped at this scale is by might. If we're the mightiest then fascism is coming for you, too, it's just a matter of when.
As a Russian, I agree... Visa and Mastercard should stop serving Americans, playstation and Spotify should delete their accounts and countries like Mexico and Canada should have a right to revoke visas of other countries like Argentina or Brazil.
Any national of the US should be treated by default as a threat to the National Security and banks of other countries should be able to block any transaction on accounts of American nationals based on random documents coming from the EU.
Starting to call orange pedo's bluffs would be nice however other governments aren't unfortunately the only players in this game. There are quite influential actors (i.e. tech billionaires) that are probably quite happy with Trump giving them the green light to do whatever the fuck they want.
Tanking his investments with a unified response would be nice too but they couldn't even do it for Putin for which the aesthetics would be much cleaner, so I don't have a grain of hope they will do it when Trump is in power. Maybe only after he leaves office, but even then not sure they would want to "damage the reputation of an ex-president" (as if he has any).
Nah man, they did that to themselves and now the rest of the world have to face the consequences. Im sorry for them but i have 0 sympathy anymore, they are not the ones who are going die in a cold trench in the middle of the artic or gods know where because they elected a psycho compromised by Russia. Stop crying and do something about it.
God, you make it sound so easy. I feel so stupid. Why didn't I think about just doing something about it?
Don't worry mate. With your brilliant insight I'll have it fixed by Wednesday.
I mean, this problem isn't confined to lines on a map. No effective solution will be either. Those lines are just fantasies that powerful people use to stay in power.
I didn't create this problem anymore than you did. This problem existed long before I was born and has consistently gotten worse in ways I have no control over.
No one's asking you to fly to the US to personally rip Donald Trump's throat out.
The fact of the matter is that the governments of the world have a lot more power to do something about it than non-wealthy US citizens. But they're not.
”Akshually” Hitler wasn’t elected, he was appointed by the president who was pressured by industry magnates, the tech billionaire parallel of that time. That isn’t to say he didn’t have support, he barely lost the election, but he wasn’t actually elected to lead the nation.
The US is one Reichstags fire away from going down the same road.
Very similar to Trump getting into power too. He didn't win by a majority of the popular vote last election (only had a plurality), and he lost the popular vote the first go.
Not to mention, right wingers have been caught over and over again doing everything they can to tamper with elections for atleast the past decade, the US electoral system is specifically designed to suppress voting, and various other governments have been actively spreading propaganda and otherwise meddling in US elections.
Nothing about the current regime reflects the values or desires of the typical US denizen.
"it's not my responsibility to not support something bad because it's your fault. I'm going to keep giving the source of the problem money until you make it go away. Hurry up and do something, as long as that something doesn't involve asking me not to financially suppor the problem.".
Their plans are obvious. I'm not an accelerationist, but I don't see any reason for the world to delay putting forth the strongest possible response as soon as possible. The fascist fucks are cowards at heart and their hold on power is growing less tenuous by the day, call their bluff.
Well. You see. The problem is that the fascist fucks are everywhere. Obviously they are all over Europe, but 600 years of European oppression has created a lot of trauma responses around the world, not to mention the fact that white supremacist families live wherever they want and spread fascism, and then there's Operation Paperclip which resulted in fascist magnet communities all over South America. If the anti-imperialists decided to act, it would create the conditions for a massive global fascist reactionary movement, starting in Europe most likely, and they would all align with the US to preserve the "Western way of life".
So, unfortunately, China's strategy of just sitting back and waiting for the empire to collapse under its own contradictions is still the best play for most of the anti-imperialists.
Sure but please select electable representatives in the Democrat party and stop daydreaming about a communist revolution. You have midterms coming up and democracy in USA still exists as far as I know.
The world police fucked itself and is now asking for help? How bout that precious second amendment you guys always go on about? Grow some balls and fix your dumpster fire and stop acting like victims
Yeah, the portion of the US that wants help isn't the portion that was super 2nd amendment, that was the people who are currently in power. Your argument is like hearing cries for help from the party not in control and then using the argument points of the party in power as a reason not to.
Also, what do you expect to happen? Liberals across the US are going to go buy guns and then mount an armed revolt? Unlike January 6, 2021, these fascists will be more than happy to mow down armed liberals for insurrection.
US citizens are really limited in options, either Trump dies and the party in power falls apart, mid-terms come and successfully limit power (if we even get elections again), whole states go into a new civil war, or a third party goes to war with the US and overthrows the current party. Other than that there are meaningless peaceful protests or failed armed rebellions. Ultimately we are talking about a government that can spy on you anywhere and everywhere unless you live in a Faraday cage, can hit you with precision strikes from no where, or levy more force than any militia.
The US escalation of power has negated the effectiveness of small time militias which is why Democrats have been arguing for reductions in 2nd amendment rights in the first place. The time of being able to pick up arms against your own government (in the US) is functionally passed and so it makes more sense to reduce the availability of arms for criminals and mass shootings.
I go back to the saying, the first people the Nazi's invaded where their own. Once things passed a certain point there wasn't much the german people could do, without outside help, to stop the Nazis. Now if you just expect mass martyrdom then that's another thing.
Have you thought about cordinating strikes or something similar? Just stop crucial parts of society. Refuse to work as a union. That's what we in Europe use to do, if something is completely wrong with our leader.
Yeah, that doesn't really work in the US. You kind of need worker protections for that to work. We, the liberals of the US, have been fighting for them for decades but haven't been very successful across the board, only in a few states. The US has more people than it has essential roles for the most part, unless I can convince a majority of people in my work sector to agree to strike it won't really mean anything.
EDIT: My work says I can take leave, after that I am no show, after two strikes of no show at work without cause (protesting isn't a cause) I can be terminated. So following your model I lose my job and nothing changes unless everyone else does it at the same time. No, we do not have a union.
"Unless everybuddy does it at the same time." - that is the point.. everyone does it, at the same time.
You think our work protection would protect us in a case like this? It wouldnt. But we are a much more connected people apparently, who shares the same values. We wouldnt just let this go on. Even if it meant I would loose my job, this would be bigger than me. This is for our childrens future.
There’s nothing the US does more consistently than being beaten by militias.
If you're talking about militias in the desert or the jungle whose standard of living is shitting in a cave then sure. If you're talking about weekend warriors who want to continue living like modern persons then you're wrong. Sorry that people don't want to go back to the stone age to overthrow their current government. I feel like this argument is really missing the point that for most people they are already trying desperately to live their lives without incident. Most American's don't support foreign wars, they don't want trade wars, all they want is to go to work and make enough money to live their lives comfortably. When you start talking about functional revolution (not just talking shit) you're effectively talking about abandoning your entire life and the people in it. For example, if your family relies on you to survive then they are screwed if you abandon everything to join a revolt.
The "warrior caste" is not so, they're just pro war so long as it doesn't impact them. As soon as the consequences of war start to hit their wallet they start complaining. They're happy to have the US bomb Venezuela so they can have oil prices drop, but if it means the cost of goods in the store go up 50% then they cry.
Honestly, the best action is for foreign powers to treat the US like they have Russia. Sanction the US and make it suffer economically.
You really think that the US has only fought some kind of desperate monkey people with nothing to live for, huh?
The only militia's, or similar groups, the US have fought in recent history have been Vietnamese, North Koreans, Nicaraguans, Iraqi's, and Afghanistani's who, apart from their formal militaries, were militia groups hiding in caves 9 times out of 10. This isn't a discussion about who they were or what they hoped to be, but about the effectiveness of their resistance and the impact on their lives.
For a group to effectively rebel within the US it would require a complete abandonment of normal life and even then it likely wouldn't be meaningfully effective.
Americans are not motivated to get rid of Trump. Parts of the population is ineffectual, complacent and undependable, the other is fully onboard with Trump.
Yeah, most American's don't want to give up literally everything to become an ineffectual or powerless martyr. Let's get it straight, unless there is a coordinated effort (such as a state originated rebellion like the civil war) then no person has enough power in the US to effectively make a difference. There aren't enough people universally coordinated to cause an effective general strike, instead it just means getting fired from your job. If you join a rebellion then your family has to subsist without you.
The Overton Window has shifted too far for a rebellion to spontaneously ignite.
How bout that precious second amendment you guys always go on about?
32% of Americans own guns. 45% of those gun owners identify as conservative, while only 15% identify as liberal. The U.S. population is around 350 million people, while there are an estimated 500 million guns.
So, assuming a roughly even distribution of guns per household (although my gut says the conservatives are more likely to own multiple guns), we can estimate about 48 million Americans who support the Trump regime holding on to about 225 million guns, while 16 million people with 75 million guns oppose him. Those are pretty rough numbers, but they're close enough to illustrate that the 2nd amendment won't help us. The majority of Americans oppose Trump, but the vast majority of guns support him.
The other 40% are independents. Difficult to say which way they lean, but we'd need almost all of them to oppose the regime to stop being the minority. I assume you're being tongue and cheek about the, "two arms," thing, but in case you're not, having multiple guns would make it easier to arm friends/family who share their ideology and create a paramilitary force (although, right now, if you wanted to join a right-wing paramilitary force to enact violence against your perceived liberal enemies, you could just join ICE).
The civil war has debatably already begun in Minneapolis, and anyone not swayed by the footage of Renee Good being murdered by ICE isn't going to be swayed by a common ground on healthcare costs.
Really, I would try to organize a genereal strike first.
The only way to "fix" this from outside is to form a giant alliance and... go to war with the US?
Never forget other countries serve their interest, jus t like the US has always been US first. Previous leaders were just smart enough to see their interest in world cooperation and soft power.
Today, other countries will need China to defeat the US. Their interest might not be to do a clean work of removing your leaders if that costs more lives and resources than just wiping out a large part (all??) of the US. And in all cases, assuming that's even sufficient, that would end with China becoming the only superpower left in the world, maybe staying as an occupying force to help rebuild and ensure you don't fall back for another dangerous idiot. You'll learn Mandarin.
Weight that, maybe a general strike is worth trying first. Just saying.
Remember the majority of US citizens voted against Trump. Particularly so in states with any wealth. US citizens, you don't have to go along with this.
My suggestion, think about ways you can to stop using money and thus cut off the tax flow.
Don't know what country youre from but let's just go to the UK voter turn out is dropping massively and even if 100 percent showed up it wouldnt even be half the amount of people that voted for kamala. The UK about 60 percent of eligible voters vote and in the US 65 percent voted in the last election. You can look at any country that doesn't have compulsory voting and the numbers are all in that range.
From the outside I was pretty sure that a lot of these "votes" came from electronic voting machines. Chances are Kamala Harris would have won a fair election. But that point is moot in hindsight.
Not only trump won the poplar vote, but if we account for all the people who participated by not voting against him, majority of US citizens voted for him, and overwhelming majority was OK with him as a president, and didn't see anything about him as a dealbreaker
2020 rigged bs should have been enough. even gdamned local news quotes the blubbering insanity. yet, here we are. preying don't work. a fucking tv script and orange cadaver paint. stupidest timeline unimaginable
We are all in this world together. There is only one humanity. To hell with everything used to divide us, except this one thing. We are the working class. We are not slaves. We can rule ourselves. The wealthy are parasites. They have no borders. Their only creed is MORE. We can only throw off their chains and take back what is ours together.
Very impresive strawmen, dude. You are arguing against something that was said only in your head.
Where was the "deserve" in what I said? I agree with the post. Very much agree that US should be sanctioned to accelerate the changes.
What I'm pointing out is that is the clear sign that US trouble is deeper than trump alone. The hope that a broken system will be healed with the change of people in charge of broken administration is like hoping that a loveless marriage can be healed by making a baby.
they have always been weak and accepted their shitty system, now it's even worse and still they don't do anything effective.
They don't know how to riot, even a lukewarm action like a strike is too much for those pussies.
Fuck them.
Counter point: Fuck us maybe, but the crap is spreading. It’s also in your (other countries) interest to stop this. Or just treat us the the pariah we are and isolate the US and move on with out us.
If any country in the word has zero credit it's the US.
Maybe we'll do some interpretative dance and complain just like you do.
Oh, and the american contribution to all the world problems: 🇺🇸 thoughts and prayers 🇺🇸 ™️ of course.
Best of luck.
Re: World Cup
There is no guarantee your fans/teams will be able to enter the US. There is no guarantee your fans/teams will be able to return home. Don't come to the US.
Read the 2nd amendment
Use it
I mean why the fuck is it there anyway they've literally spent decades shitting on the sport.
(Yesyes i know, fifa is a corrupt pos but honestly how the fuck this was even floated as an idea is beyond me)
Major League Soccer has been gaining traction for a few years now, teams getting big and rich enough to buy Messi for $150M for 2.5 years, Apple bought the US MLS distribution rights for $2.5B over 10 years, a lot of people stand to make a lot of money. A whole new untapped market for fifa and the teams and advertisers and every company who advertises.
If the US arrests a bunch of our football hooligans and throws them into a cage, good riddance.
It’s more the teams that would be in danger. Especially from any South American countries.
Nobody is forcing them to go there.
Maybe they need them to show them how to riot. Fresh blood and all that
"move the world cup? corruption is what turns me on" - fifa
Bulldoze the white house, build the Jeffrey Epstein Memorial World Peace Fütball Colosseum.
Honestly, an empty stretch of grass would do a better job of it all
It's really unusual how everybody seems to talk as if the World Cup is only taking place in the US this year.
I wouldn't be surprised if they threatened to move it though. They want some of that sweet sweet corruption money!
(Apologies for the long rant.)
ur smart thx u
Leaving us with some hope
This unfortunately is not a joke, I endorse this.
You ain't alone
I keep thinking how you would have never expected this sort of thing from nearly any American even a couple decades ago. It feels like a sign of the times.
Yea probably not, but honestly who gives a rats ass about all these circuses when you can't afford food or a home
Dear US,
You got the world in this mess. You voted a criminal pedophile dictator into office, twice.
Clean up your shit yourselves. It's what your precious second amendment is for, right?
There's nothing more American.
Then creating a mess, and expecting someone else to clean it up.
Maybe an immigrant cleaner that they can threaten with ICE deportation to keep in check. Very on-brand.
Honestly after decades of ego and exceptionalism, this demand that other people fix issues they've caused themselves is pretty on-brand for the US
Manifested a destiny not to their liking and suddenly it is other people's responsibility.
Sleep well.
Spoke like a true murican.
You're on point though, which means that because we have problems of our own, in part caused by you, we'll just let the Great US of A solve its own shit while we're busy solving ours.
Issues they caused themselves that we warned them about for decades, even
The most aggravating thing is they've polarised themselves into thinking any outside force refusing to "fix it" is being sanctimonious.
Nah fam. this is something you've built from the ground up and entrenched into your culture, so you have to fix it. Outside forces imposing will end up with another iraq. (Or afghanistan. Or libya. Or Iran. ). Hell, even Germany was headed towards burying its cat turds until niemoller & co grassrooted the idea of collective guilt to come to terms with their crimes.
It's gotta come from inside the house.
True, but it's time to tell them to fuck off.
The second amendment is for school shootings and dick measuring contests
I find it incredibly disheartening that even on this platform, your comment got five downvotes so far.
Wasn't it against the king of England?
More second amendment fantasies, that's what I came here for. Shoot 1 ice agent and watch the army roll into your neighbourhood. Clown face.
Do nothing and you have the same result
Apparently LoL
He stole that election, but sure.
Then take it back!
We'll have to keep that in mind next time your countries are invaded after years of appeasement.
Ratioed
Look in the fucking mirror.
The UN isn't your allies, it includes China and Russia. Clearly you don't even know the difference between NATO and the UN.
You're stronger against your enemies when you're "friends" with the biggest bully. It's just the choice which bully to befriend.
You mean all those troops forced into the wars the US started? Yeah well, that's the downside of being friends with a bully.
How ironic.
You mean greenland? Ukraine? Venezuela?
Or is this another pathetic attenpt to claim the US alone won world war II?
It's quite telling that when you jump to conclusions as to what I meant, you end up at an extreme take.
Then tell us exactly what you were alluding to.
Go on
While you're there, clarify what is extreme about the take.
You Mean, when You are going to invade us and afterwards say "sorry about that fellow ally, we won't do that again"?
As an American citizen, I fully support the rest of the world putting us on time out until we get our shit together.
Get your own fucking shit together, please. Nobody but Americans can solve this.
I wish we could just stay away, but if you're a Greenlander, that's already not an option, and if you're Canadian, that may not do it either.
Solution might be just like Hitler's Germany. We will need the Chinese to replace the Soviet Russians.
I would never give a monkey an uzi, but my neighbors believed it was an awesome idea. The neighbors far across the pond think we’re all the same over here and that I’m to blame for the monkey having an uzi. So idk… I just pray we all survive this without everyone picking up an uzi.
Thoughts and prayers eh?
nobody needs a shitraeli gun
Their point wasn't that anybody needed an Uzi.
I got that, you didn't get mine obviously
I make no such assumption. The reality is it takes time to actually produce them. It can take years to build the equipment needed to start production on the materials. A nuke in 4 years isn't a deterrent to an attack in less than 3.
Are you just using me as a punching bag because you're mad at Americans as a whole?
The US isn't the way it is because of Trump, but Trump is the way he is because of the US.
Bit of column A, bit of column B.
We all need to organize and unionize.
Except that we are also victims of capitalism. What's that about class consciousness?
We need to be defeating capitalism in our countries first to then come to aid our neighbours after.
How would defeating capitalism without involving the US, the rotten core of capitalism, work?
Hmmm.... that's a good point.
Communism? (/s but not really)
Who is you? The English?
Yes
That flag should be upside down
Dear America,
You were so proud of your opposition to tyranny.
The Nazis executed my Grandpa for refusing to continue fighting in a war they forced him to participate in, in 1944.
At the time, you could be beheaded simply for saying you didn't believe the war could be won anymore. They called it "Wehrkraftzersetzung".
You can still resist without immediately forfeiting your life. You might regret not having done it when it is too late.
I don’t disagree. Strangely we have an entire generation of self crippled young people who cower behind screens and wax poetic about personal anxiety.
Therein is the main problem. Everyone expects someone else to ride in to the rescue. And there is no white knight.
Then you have nothing to lose. Boo hoo hoo.
Cowards. Fucking fight already.
So start rioting.
Did you think the rest of us got our rights because the powers that be were especially pleased with the way we fellated them that morning?
What America have you been watching, because I'd sure like to live in the one where we get those things.
you are angry at a caricature of america thats been sold to you and you bought it
US propaganda came from the US, and now the US is bitching about it. Beautiful
Ok keyboard warrior.
Send a commando team to cut the head off the snake.
Less of a snake and more a hydra. Trump needs to be dealt with, but more evil will pop up in his place. You need to get the team to eliminate the lot of them and not just the leader.
Needs full-blown German de-nazification at this point, outlawing fascist icons and slogans too.
Need full on denazification.
Do a general, countrywide strike...
Wiki
I don't get what this has to do with the suggestion of a General Strike
Sorry thought about a general...
One will cause the other. The orange ape is really just waiting for an excuse.
I mean, he doesn't need an excuse, he's already basically occupying Minneapolis
I have a question on this. I’m a US citizen living in the US, but work remotely for a Canadian company. What do I do during a general strike?
That makes sense. I’ll definitely keep going to the protests and set some aside to mutual aid.
Buy food for people who starve.
Do you pay USA income tax?
I do, but I’m also salary and have unlimited pto, so not going to work isnt going to keep any taxes from going to the gov.
Take leave without pay.
Support when they protest.
Apply to become a Canadian citizen?
I'm already unemployed. Is it working yet
The fact is that boycotting the us is for the good of the entire world. The Israel backed child murdering pedofiles running this country are a cancer.
I think that hate the American people, too, and a boycott is probably something they would love. These rich (think about how much musk has) can outlast most of the world. So I think the answer lies somewhere else, but I’m not saying not to try it.
I’m just saying make a plan b.
Why doesn't the USA (the biggest A) just use some of the freedom that it keeps exporting to oil rich countries?
Like many countries, the export quality is greater than that of domestic.
We can’t.
We help by moving on, building new ties, and never forgiving or trusting again at least as long as this farce is in living memory.
Watch that memory die the moment a European politician sees a chance for lining their own pockets...
How so? Is the USA really a viable investment right now? Do you realistically see it becoming reliable one in the foreseeable future?
Yup.
People are irrational and there's money to be made off them
Hard to debate this, very hard.
My condolences.
What, to me? What for?
I thought from your comment you were from or lived in the USA.
Edit: I did not pay attention to your instance
All good, it might end up being as bad if our population keeps doing dumb shit and our lucky country politicians keep responding to that.
This ^^ we were all actively against usa voting for a tyran. Yet they chose dictatorship over egg prices. Not much to do about it.
At this point, we need to use force
No you don’t. That’s the fuckin hard way.
What do you mean by that?
Please explain
What, Churchill?
‘Americans will do the right thing when all other options are exhausted.’
Considering the state of the UK, that stone thrown from a glass house hasn't aged that well.
I mean the part before you brought up Churchill
Fuck, again, if I need to explain that…I can’t help. It’s self explanatory jesus
Oompa-loompa doopity dee, a kick to the balls for every Nazi.
I can’t see the US flag anymore, without my mind adding piss and shit stains on it.
Please fuck our shit up.
There is hope...
Not for all, this is him...
These screenshots deserve to be a post on their own.
And this time, it's not a kink.
Just stop recognising US copyrights and make the euro the default currency for international trade should do it nicely.
Will people stop buying iPhone? No. Failed at step one.
Trump doesn't care about Americans suffering. But sanction his properties, hotels, and golf courses to get better leverage.
Just make his businesses outright illegal and close them down outside of the US. Forcibly.
dude, the world already hated the usa before trump. clean up your own mess.
Yet your governments are deeply intertwined with the US's. As long as that's the case. our mess will be leaking into your countries as well.
Dear USA, Go fuck yourself.
You didn't put him in jail when you had a chance and then you elected him again.
I will enjoy watching your country eat its own head. You fucking deserve it.
Half of America didn't vote for trump, and they're many Americans protesting. I can't say all Russians are bad, it's Putin and his oligarchs, just like Trump and the GOP, not the American people in general!
65% of eligible people voted in the last election.
Almost 1/3rd voted for Trump.
Almost 1/3rd voted for Harris.
More than 1/3rd didn't care enough to vote at all.
Which is roughly the average of most countries that don't have compulsory voting. It's rare to get numbers above 65 percent in any country.
More than half.
I wasn't sure but I thought of it....
And the other half voted for another murderous ghoul who was only about 10% less evil than Trump himself.
Would you please stop this crap. Everyone who didn't meet up for their democratic rights are just as acountable! Stop that vote dodger shit. America decided to be new nazi germany. Deal with the shit that follows.
They stole that election.
Stole it ? By going on Joe Rogans podcast? Turn over Elon? There was still 40% of people in the USA who didnt give a fuck. The 39% hillbillys and christians won that election. It wasn't really necessary to "steal" anything.
Nothing will happen and Israel will still be in Eurovision.
Please won't somebody build a different system for financial transaction?
Toppling MasterCard and Visa would help a lot I think
Man the echo chambers have created a huge divide
The "rest of the world" is running on the exact same capitalist system. No help there.
Invade us. I wish that were possible. Put the world forces together, nuke Montana to make a point (with a bit of warning to get all 11 people out). The only way fascism has been stopped at this scale is by might. If we're the mightiest then fascism is coming for you, too, it's just a matter of when.
Sorry but your army is so powerful you have to hope for a Stauffenberg in your general ranks.
IMHO the French gave us just the right amount of help last time.
Political humor?
As a Russian, I agree... Visa and Mastercard should stop serving Americans, playstation and Spotify should delete their accounts and countries like Mexico and Canada should have a right to revoke visas of other countries like Argentina or Brazil.
Any national of the US should be treated by default as a threat to the National Security and banks of other countries should be able to block any transaction on accounts of American nationals based on random documents coming from the EU.
\s. Borders were a mistake.
If every citizen of a dictatorship country is responsible for it's actions and inherintly suspicious, citizens of democracies are even more so.
You forgot the part where you clarify that you think the same way about the Russian regime and support Ukraine. Slava Ukraini!
Ah, so you are a psychopath who supports the mass murder of Ukrainians. I hope you get treatment for your mental illness.
You very well know it's not what I support or do. Go fight your windmills elsewhere.
They barely tried... did gas ever stop flowing from Russia to Germany?
should have said didn't rather than couldn't yea
best we can do is strongly worded letters
Thoughts and prayers 🙏
"Change comes from within." - Ghandi or something IDK
"Help"
Nah man, they did that to themselves and now the rest of the world have to face the consequences. Im sorry for them but i have 0 sympathy anymore, they are not the ones who are going die in a cold trench in the middle of the artic or gods know where because they elected a psycho compromised by Russia. Stop crying and do something about it.
God, you make it sound so easy. I feel so stupid. Why didn't I think about just doing something about it? Don't worry mate. With your brilliant insight I'll have it fixed by Wednesday.
And yet you're expecting the rest of the world to fix it for you.
I mean, this problem isn't confined to lines on a map. No effective solution will be either. Those lines are just fantasies that powerful people use to stay in power.
Stop making excuses. This is a problem of your own country's creation, and it's up to you, not the rest of us, to fix it.
We have our own problems. Liberating the US is not under our remit. We are not the world police.
I didn't create this problem anymore than you did. This problem existed long before I was born and has consistently gotten worse in ways I have no control over.
No one's asking you to fly to the US to personally rip Donald Trump's throat out.
I didn't say you did personally.
Stop asking for other countries to do the work your own country should be doing.
It's not our job to sort out your mess.
American nationalism strikes again.
The fact of the matter is that the governments of the world have a lot more power to do something about it than non-wealthy US citizens. But they're not.
Imagine saying this to the Jews in 1930s Germany.
"Jews" didnt elect Hitler, germans did.
He didn't win, he wasn't shot, and he fucked kids.
Were the Jews living in Germany.... Not German?
The people hurt by the Nazis and the people who are and will be hurt by the Republicans are mostly Americans.
"it's not my responsibility to not support something bad because it's your fault. I'm going to keep giving the source of the problem money until you make it go away. Hurry up and do something, as long as that something doesn't involve asking me not to financially suppor the problem.".
Its your fucking country, how about you do something about it?
Imagine being such a loser that you have the world's most armed population, nukes and you still think you're the victim.
The dolls will be upset if Miller is upset
None of this will mean anything to the regime. It might even embolden then.
Their plans are obvious. I'm not an accelerationist, but I don't see any reason for the world to delay putting forth the strongest possible response as soon as possible. The fascist fucks are cowards at heart and their hold on power is growing less tenuous by the day, call their bluff.
I mean just think what America would do in this situation. Then do that.
Elect an obvious fascist Moron?
Well.
But then we may not get the newest cutting edge semiconductor and chipset and data centre technology and all that. You have to understand.

Greetings from Los Angeles 2028
I will happily join an invading army as a resistance fighter
Sure but please select electable representatives in the Democrat party and stop daydreaming about a communist revolution. You have midterms coming up and democracy in USA still exists as far as I know.
As for political humor
Create the strongest military in the world by far
"Oh help us, we have fallen and we cannot get up"
Sure, we'll get right on that.
Yes, you tell them. On Lemmy, of all places haha.
FIFA is one of the few major orgs that is on par with the corruption of the current US regime
That excuse really went out the window when the tyrannical, oppressive force went unopposed.
What about the other 40%?
If they only have 2 arms then having multiple weapons is less impressive - they can only fire one at a time.
Start talking to Conservatives, listen, and find a compromise that the majority can support.
There are pretty good odds you'd get shot for ringing the doorbell.
How are the odds for waiting until the civil war to meet them?
The civil war has debatably already begun in Minneapolis, and anyone not swayed by the footage of Renee Good being murdered by ICE isn't going to be swayed by a common ground on healthcare costs.
This isn't political humor. Its real. Please NATO, other U.S. allies help us.

How about you boycott yourselves? You personally may not be responsible but you still have a responsibility.
Remember the majority of US citizens voted against Trump. Particularly so in states with any wealth. US citizens, you don't have to go along with this.
My suggestion, think about ways you can to stop using money and thus cut off the tax flow.
"To stop the duke, go for gold." (Google it)
The majority of US citizens didn't even vote.
Then they voted for this. Inderectly. Because "big-man-don't-like-cat-lady"
False. But it was close.
From the outside I was pretty sure that a lot of these "votes" came from electronic voting machines. Chances are Kamala Harris would have won a fair election. But that point is moot in hindsight.
I think you are mistaken : for his second term, Trump actually won the popular vote. Which is bonkers.
Not only trump won the poplar vote, but if we account for all the people who participated by not voting against him, majority of US citizens voted for him, and overwhelming majority was OK with him as a president, and didn't see anything about him as a dealbreaker
Remember that sales taxes in the US are local. They fund your city and state, not the federal government.
Barter, and where money is helpful we should use FOSS money like GNU Taler or whatever.
Wrong. They love the orange fellon.
I am amenable to this.
Hello, American here, please do anything you can!
Only 70 Million out of a vast 300 Million wanted anything to do with this insanity. Somebody needs to put the cancer in Venezuela Prison.
Literally every foreign leader that was even slightly opposed to the US or UK.
2020 rigged bs should have been enough. even gdamned local news quotes the blubbering insanity. yet, here we are. preying don't work. a fucking tv script and orange cadaver paint. stupidest timeline unimaginable
They are flying the flag upside down
uhm join your workunions? Do it yourself bro
If your system can only be healed from the outside, than you never had a system.
There is basically nothing outside the system of global capitalism.
If you can't solve all of your problems alone, then you don't deserve to live.
fuck that individualist approach. we need communities for a reason.
Pretty sure this is sarcasm... I hope.
Thank you for being the only person so far to get the hyperbolic satire. I didn't think I needed to clarify that it was, when it was so over-the-top.
Sarcasm or capitalism...
Is it also possible that what I said was hyperbolic satire?
People that actually think like this are a big part of the problem here is the US.
Be better.
they have always been weak and accepted their shitty system, now it's even worse and still they don't do anything effective.
Been doing it since forever.
May I suggest some carpet bombing?
Olympics, Word Cup? Really? Remember the old fairy tale "Do anything to me, just not throw me into the bushes?"
Do you think that we are idiots?
If any country in the word has zero credit it's the US.
Maybe we'll do some interpretative dance and complain just like you do.
Oh, and the american contribution to all the world problems: 🇺🇸 thoughts and prayers 🇺🇸 ™️ of course.
Best of luck.
