Postmaster General Confirms Plan to Hold Back Mail Ballots in States that won’t Share Voter Data

“If a state refuses to turn their absentee voter list over to the federal government, will the Postal Service still mail their ballots under this proposal rule?” Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.), the committee’s top Democrat, asked Steiner.

“Under our proposed regulation, no,” Steiner replied.

Graham Platner welcomes attacks from 'fascists and bigots' over his support for trans rights

“No one, whether you’re trans or not, wants the federal government digging through your identifiable patient information and figuring out what they like and don’t like,” Hack said. “It’s an absolute overreach, and people are really scared.”

Asked whether Hack’s priorities were measures he could support, Platner agreed. “Yes, indeed. They most certainly do,” he said.

Judge permanently blocks Trump EO requiring proof of citizenship to vote

Judge Denise Casper ruled that the president lacks the authority to oversee elections and rejected the Trump administration's unsupported claims of "widespread illegal voting, discrimination, fraud, and other forms of malfeasance and error."

"While the Constitution vests the President with 'executive Power' and commands him to 'take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed,' it does not grant the President any specific powers over elections," Judge Casper wrote.

Trump lawyers realize discovery in president's lawsuit could expose him to a Jan. 6 'trial'

As part of its defense, however, the BBC issued 47 subpoenas of third parties, seeking "[a]ll Documents and Communications Concerning the attack on the U.S. Capitol following the 'Stop the Steal' rally on January 6, 2021" — the "same records" former special counsel Jack Smith used against Trump in his dismissed Jan. 6 conspiracy prosecution.

A hearing on these issues was pushed back to July 21. Ahead of that, Trump has lodged his complaints about the BBC's "impermissibly broad" discovery aims and how it will add to the expense of his litigation against the broadcaster.

Trump’s name is off the Kennedy Center. A judge wants to know why it’s covered up

The Kennedy Center had until June 12 at midnight to strip the president’s name from the building, but construction crews in hard hats and neon green high-vis vests only started to assemble scaffolding to reach the letters that afternoon.

That midnight deadline came and went without any letters removed from the building.

Cooper and a panel of appeals court judges denied the administration’s 11th-hour attempts to keep Trump’s name on the facade, and workers began adding a tarp to the towering scaffolding shortly after 1 a.m..

Workers eventually began removing letters at 3 a.m. June 13.

But the scaffolding and tarp are still in place.

Trump says there are ‘no limits’ to his power

President Trump insisted there are “no limits” to his power when asked in a new interview about his takeaways from the Iran war.

The president was pressed by Axios’s Marc Caputo during an interview about whether he learned there are bounds to his power during the Middle East conflict.

“I haven’t learned that lesson yet,” he replied. “I know there are, but there are no limits. We defeated them totally militarily.”

Trump Seriously Compares Himself to Hitler

“Donald Trump is, without question, the most powerful man that the planet has ever known- by a long way. Historically, powerful people were characterised by brutal conquest and the fear that they instilled in the populations that came under their influence. Common names that would come to mind are Alexander the Great, the Caesars, Genghis Khan, Attila the Hun, Tamburlaine, Napoleon and, more recently, Hitler, Mao, and Stalin,” read the letter. “The overwhelming difference between each of the above when compared with President Trump is their lack of global reach. Their power was limited to restricted local areas (even though some of these areas were quite large in a local context). They had nowhere near the control over modern logistics, manpower, technology, and the global economic muscle that President Trump can enforce."

The extermination camps were origionally created to be deportation camps in 1930s Germany too. It wasn't until the Wannsee Conference on 20 January 1942 that they dreamed up the official policy of extermination. History doesn't repeat, but it sure as fuck rhymes.

Postal Service won’t deliver mail ballots for states that don’t hand over voter lists, under plan for Trump directive | CNN Politics

That dilemma stems from newly proposed USPS rules that seek to comply with an executive order President Donald Trump signed this spring to crack down on mail-in voting. If courts let the order stand, it would give the federal government an unprecedented role in elections — and could put even more voter data in the hands of Trump officials searching for supposed election fraud.

Tina Peters, fresh out of prison, tells far-right podcaster: ‘They're stealing our elections’

Peters was convicted in 2024 after prosecutors showed she facilitated unauthorized access to Mesa County voting equipment and helped expose sensitive system data. Her actions were driven by the explosion of far-right conspiracy theories that the 2020 election was stolen from President Donald Trump through voting machines that switched votes to help former President Joe Biden win.

The Colorado judge who sentenced Peters to nine years in prison called her a “charlatan” who peddled “snake oil” and said she showed no remorse for her actions.

But Gov. Jared Polis (D) commuted Peters’ sentence last month, after months of pressure from Trump, MAGA fanatics, and election deniers. In Polis’ letter to Peters informing her that her sentence would be commuted, Polis wrote that Peters learned her lesson.

“Importantly, your application demonstrates taking responsibility for your crimes, and a commitment to follow the law going forward,” Polis said.

Epstein file says Trump "knew and funded underage sex parties" at his golf course

While the intake report memorialized allegations that multiple girls were murdered and buried at a Trump golf course, newly released Epstein records suggest federal investigators ultimately viewed the source skeptically. Other FBI summaries released by the Justice Department indicate complainants making similar allegations were “deemed not credible,” and no publicly released records show that authorities excavated any Trump golf course or uncovered evidence supporting the claims.

Transgender ballot initiative could require genital exams for WA secondary school students

Language in the initiative claims that kids are already required to undergo verification of their “biological sex” before they can play sports. But KUOW spoke with medical professionals and a school sports official who said otherwise. Paperwork used by medical professionals in sports physicals also shows that the initiative would be a departure from current state requirements for athletic participation.

According to the initiative, students would have several options to confirm their sex: a visual genital exam, a lab test to determine their genetic makeup, or an analysis of testosterone levels in the blood. The genital exam, which a medical professional can conduct without touching the child, would likely be the most accessible option for most kids.

Do Trans People Have “Stand Your Ground” Rights? Wyoming’s Answer May Be “No.”

Last September, Ríhanna Kelver was standing outside the Crowbar & Grill in Laramie, Wyoming, preparing to start her bartending shift, when she noticed a group of men across the street. One of them was shouting in her direction, and Kelver heard several homophobic and transphobic slurs as he began approaching her. Moments later, according to court testimony and surveillance footage, the man shoved Kelver to the ground hard enough to injure her tailbone.

Kelver responded by drawing a pistol from her bag, chambering a round, and pointing the weapon at the man who had pushed her. She kept the safety on and never fired. The man and his companions retreated.

Today, Kelver, a 28-year-old trans woman, faces two felony charges—aggravated assault and possession of a deadly weapon with unlawful intent—which could carry up to 15 years in prison. The man who shoved Kelver and who allegedly initiated the confrontation, known only as “S. Durham,” has not been charged.

Tennessee GOP governor candidate says he would ban Islam, outlaw same-sex marriage

But he acknowledged that he would like to outlaw Muslim calls to prayer and, if possible, ban Islam itself, along with Buddhism, Hinduism and "other pagan religions." He wants to treat abortion as murder and would deny the morning-after pill to rape victims.

He would also outlaw same-sex marriage and criminalize some sexual acts between consenting adults of the same sex.

"I just kinda boiled the two words down to a 'Christian' — I am that, I will not deny Christ — and I am a nationalist. I am an America-first, Tennessee-first person. So I didn't think that was a detrimental term," Fritts said, explaining his use of the term Christian nationalist.

Postal Service moving forward with Trump’s attack on mail voting

This is a flat, substabtial interface with the 10th Amendment's allowance of states to manage and run elections. If a state allows elections such that they aren’t denied on account of race, gender, and people under 18, they can be run however the states deem. Requiring someone to register with the federal government is not a power of Congress
