What do you play in your phone?
We are coming from here.
I'm not gonna lie, guys, neither say the opposite: there are people who play in their phones, I bet you do, so do I. I'm curious to know what do you play in your phones, what kind of "phone gamer" are you. Remember PDAs? The only games that things had were mineswipper, solitaire, chess, sudoku among others. All those are games that perfectly use the touch capabilities of its device, but now, we have more process capacity, and we still have one touch screen (I know, you can touch many points of the screen at the same time). I've always seen the screen of my phone as a one big button, so, I can't play any game that needs more than one touch to be played. I do limit my catalogue of games to those mentioned above, and I really like them. I love sudoku.

Shattered Pixel Dungeon roguelike GPL v3.0
Seconded, can be quite hard to pick up at first, but developing strategies and learning is soooo rewarding
Same, it's a nice little game to pickup!
Simon Tatham's puzzle game collection.
Seconded
I play pornhub
I'm like, "Hold up, how did, that's not even me
Like, I don't jerk off mobily"
No implications here, I jerk off on the train while playing pornhub during my morning commute.
Chess, mostly
Vampire Survivors and the SMT gacha game.
I have a few emulators but the touch screen controls are torture.
Tons of stuff:
I have ~135 game apps plus some that are not exactly games but not exactly for productivity.
I have lemuroid and a pile of old console games.
I have a few sites for doing other little games, like daily Akari.
highlights:
Collapsus
Endless Sky
Pixel Dungeon
Luanti
Gladiabots
Mindustry
PartyHardGO
OpenTTD
Oxenfree
Revoltaire
The full set of games by Yiotro (a dev who puts it all out there for free, no ads, and lets you buy in if you like it)
Terraria
Underhand
Space Chem
A collection of puzzle games off of Fdroid just called puzzles. It has akari, sudoku, minesweeper, signpost, galaxies, towers, etc. All the games you might find buried in the back of a newspaper.
Stardew Valley
Tic-80
A pile of games from itch.io
When keeping it real goes wrong.....
Solitaire. That's it.
Foss sodoku apps from F-Droid
I'm an old bastard and mostly play patience, sudoku, and cryptic crosswords on my phone. And maybe Bloons TD 6 to get the dailies if I'm away from home without my laptop.
On console I play mostly single-player RPGs but I also play PUBG. Tried that on mobile (how my kids play it) but fuck that shit!
Also, what the hell is going on with that cloud? Isn't it cold? What's for pudding? Why do policemen look so young these days? Everything was better when I was a youngster!
Nonogram

I never really have more than one game at a time. Right now it's Pokemon TCG Pocket.
[email protected]
There are weekly trading threads
Mini Metro
I play sudoku and chess puzzles.
Pinball Deluxe Reloaded
It's a fun little time waster, I like that I don't have any ads on it either
Up until recently, I played Hearthstone every day for ten years. Some seasons were more fun than others, but ever since around November, I really haven't played it at all.
So, I downloaded Balatro around November. I really did not expect to get addicted to that game.
Right now, I'm kind of in between games, so I'm checking this list for ideas.
I play Stardew Valley sometimes, but it's not as fun as the pc version.
I've had Backpack Brawl for a while, and Balatro too. Most other games I don't play for longer than a month or so. I did play Super Snail for a long time because I liked my clubmates, but the bird update killed it for me lol
Mostly Lemmy, but I reinstalled Hoplite for a flight a while ago.
Solitaire and chess. Istg, I'm not a boomer. 24 here
Stuff made by Yiotro is pretty good
Also got some jigsaw game but for a high privacy rating there are no premade images so i end up puzzling memes out of my library (for checking app security ratings i suggest using exodus)
Umamusume Pretty Derby
I've been playing for about 3.5 years.
I went to the page, I watched a few videos, and I still have no idea what this game is. (Besides a boob physics engine)
Here's the global site, sorry I posted the Japanese one earlier
https://umamusume.com/
By the way, all of the characters in Umamusume are anthropomorphized versions of real racehorses.
Twenty and Balatro Sometimes Rummy or Blokus
ISEPS and Balatro.
Nothing, and it's not because I don't play mobile games. I have a GrapheneOS phone that is so insulated from modern technology that it can barely run Uber/Lyft... so I keep games on my computers and tablets. Me having a bunch of gadgets (I have a Steam Deck and a dedicated tablet for mobile games) helps too
And... speaking of this topic. I am slightly competitive on a mobile gacha game at the moment; almost no serious players for these "mobile game" play on phone because screen too small, so they end up using the PC clients anyway...
Once human. By far the best phone game by such a long way
Eternal Card Game
I can also recommend the Cube Escape series (point and click escape)
I waste my time on a website I found years ago on r/beermoney that pays pennies for installing and playing shitty games. Most of them are the garbage match 3 or dominoes or whatever. I figured out most of them still pay out even with my ad blocker on so I just dissociate with that instead of doom scrolling sometimes.
It's not the greatest thing ever and I know it's bad for privacy and capitalism and for many other reasons, but I've made like $600 on it in the last 3 years so that's been cool.
Polytopia. Like a very light Civ. No dark patterns or commercials.
Nothing, mobile games are either boring or littered with ads or pay to win
The screen is also way too small
Basically just 2048. I have actually had a single 7x7 game going for literally months.
Threes
Lyne
I uninstalled the only one I had because it skirted my ad skirting.
I've got mini metro, something called shapez that I've not played, functional ear trainer which I'm classifying as a game cause it kinda is, and NYT games which is the only one I play regularly.
I have 378 hours on..
Calculator, Doom Scroll Edition
And sometimes Chess.
I'll admit it, I play a lot of Gardenscapes and those Diner Dash games before that. But if you're looking for more of an action game feel, try Vampire Survivors. It's free and pretty well done for what it is. You just survive as long as you can as hordes of monsters come at you. You upgrade weapons as it gets harder and harder.
Mostly Pikmin Bloom right now. I like how it keeps me active, gets me out of the house, highlights public art in my city... and the pikmin are cute, of course. I appreciate that, while there are microtransactions, you can earn the coins easily through gameplay.
But previous favorites included:
Hoplite
Pixel Dungeon
Chrono Trigger mobile port
Battle for Polytopia
Merchant RPG
micRogue
I used to have a PDA, even back in the late '90s I got as a hand-me-down. I used to play games on that and my first several phones. These days, though, if I'm using my phone it's never for gaming. If I have free time, I'm using a flashcard app to study or watching previously-downloaded youtube vids for downtime. I guess the one exception was when I was doing the prep for a colonoscopy, I fired up ALTTPR on a SNES emulator on tablet to kill time. That's the only time I can think of in the last probably 2 years I've played any games on anything mobile at all.
I was playing Jedi Knight up to some time ago, now Eternal Darkness on the emulator (both with a cheap BT controller)
I haven't had games on my phone for closer to a decade.
Breakout 71
When I ever play on my phone it's emulated stuff
I played Star Wars heroes or how it’s called for some time. Otherwise I’ve played a fair bit of fps stuff on iPods in the past. I don’t know if anyone remembers modern combat 2 and the rainbow six shooter on iOS ~early 2010s. arguably mobile games were in a better state than now. I vividly remember a tintin game which released with the animated movie or the one before, which was really really good not just for a mobile game but in general. All those games eventually got taken from the App Store either because of licensing or a successors release. And zhey got replaced with gacha games one way or another in the long run. Nowadays I merely have some -„no internet pass time“-games like a skater game and stuff don’t really game a lot in general and if I do I play on pc. I looked back into some games but after you discover the game loop it’s just the same. Grind to get you to spend money and I don’t have the patience and I don’t see the fun in it.
E:spelling
Nothing for about the last two years - before that? All sorts of different things. But finally realized pretty much every game was either just trying to get me to cough up more money, was a subpar experience because of interface/hardware limitations, and/or weren't actually fun beyond giving me a brief distraction when I was bored.
If I get to the point where I want a mobile gaming option, I'll just get a Steam Deck. Honestly the less time I spend attached to my phone, the better.
A few years ago I played a game called Spelltower, but it stopped working. I also played about 15 minutes of Carmageddon before losing interest one time.
Haven't played a game on my phone since, though. I think it's a frustrating experience trying to play anything on a device like a phone.
I used to love those Kairosoft simulator games. They get a little samey after a while but you get the whole game which is cool
Mostly emulators and a little chess
Space Trader and Dope Wars, all the way. Still worth playing today! You can emulate it on Archive.org or there's Android ports for Space Trader. Still a fun game. :D
My son and I just started playing COD Mobile again. It’s fun to grind. It’s absolutely a cash grab, but we don’t get involved with that part of it. It’s really the only game that I play these days, as I’m not really a gamer.
He plays a few other games on his phone and Xbox.
Honkai Star Rail. Typical gacha hero collector. The gameplay is fun, the story is engaging, and you don't have to spend any money if you don't want to. I like the option of a phone game during my commute or at night in bed.
