Trump blames DC air crash on workers with "severe intellectual disabilities, psychiatric problems, or other mental or physical conditions"

He's going to use this as an excuse to repeal the Americans with Disabilities Act. I'm calling it.
Nostradamus [Belle] two days ago:
"If they keep the details quiet [of the recent closed-door meeting], you'll be able to tell what they're going after [in the budget] by listening to their rhetoric".
"They'll start scapegoating a demographic, to try and prime the [voter] base to accept their cuts."
(e.g.) "If they start talking about able-bodied people, it's Medicaid."
it's in project 2025
It's ALL fucking in there. Every day since Jan 20 is in there.
So many rascal driving MAGAots are about to have their face eaten.
Sucks it will affect decent folks.
Sounds like a good description of the guy who just tried to fire the entire FAA.
He might have been looking in a mirror when thinking of what kind of demographic to blame
The best take
So he’s accepting personal responsibility?
I'm not suggesting he will accept it willingly, we'll have to force it on him, as he is convicted.
Timeline:
Jan 20 - Federal Aviation Administration Director fired.
Jan. 21 - Air Traffic Controller hiring frozen
Jan. 22 - Aviation Safety Advisory Committee disbanded
Jan. 28 - Buyout/retirement demand sent to existing employees
Jan. 29 - first American mid-air collision in 16 years
By golly, Trump is actually correct. Someone with severe intellectual disabilities did fuck us over.
It's mind boggling anyone would even try to dismantle the FAA- they're one of the most boring organizations out there and their #1 concern is safety. There's even tons of money to be made while worrying about safety, so it is so odd to do this. Trying to reduce air traffic controllers is an insane idea in general- without them everyone's flying blind. It's gonna take decades to figure out all the damage this moron has done just like with Reagan
And it's one of the most useful government offices if you're a billionaire who travels by plane everywhere. Plebs who have to drive everywhere are a lot less affected by overworked, overstressed, underpaid ATCs than guys like him.
Well thanks to the ElonJet guy they know where all the important planes are.... Who needs flight control when you have xcom /s
He's still bitter over PATCO, 1981
I think I will blame Trump instead. He was dictator on day one. How could the Orange Turd let this happen!
He caused this to happen with his various actions of enshitifying the quality of government.
So no idea of really how the crash happened, don't have black boxes yet. But somehow knows it was dei. Right.
….
PAT25(?) announced that they have a visual on the CRJ. ATC instructed them to maintain visual separation and then proceed behind the CRJ. They didn’t. No maydays, no panpans.
It’s pilot deviation or pilot error.
What would you be interested in with the black box? If the TAWS warned the CRJ pilots?
Black box is woke dei hire.
wouldn't have happened if white box.
New EO just dropped. We're calling them white boxes and painting them to prevent future tragedy.
Are we sure Trump isn't a black box in disguise? 🤔
Grey is the new aryan white:
https://sciences.social/@alfiekohn/113920184287756264
Of course. Had it been a white box, it would have avoided this crash, we all know that!
/s
Looks more like rainbow colored to me.
Black Box in a black hawk. I mean come on
The ATC queries them multiple times if they have visual on the CRJ and they repeatedly respond in the affirmative.
also the published helicopter corridor has them maintain a ceiling of 200 feet, they were well above 350 at the time of the collision.
It's either pilot negligence or instrument failure.
also TCAS is inactive below
800900 feet. It’s pilot error or deviation. You have the CRJ in sight. You are responsible for maintaining visual separation. Full stop. Instrument failure does not apply to your eyes.
Wouldn't that be TCAS?
You right. Helicopters aren’t terrain. My bad
TCAS doesn't give resolution advisories (alerts that say to climb or descend to avoid traffic) below 1000'. It does have a warning noise still, but from my understanding it's common for it to go off on approach due to all the other aircraft around and on the ground at the airport, so it may have been ignored.
He doesn't need evidence he has "common sense"
Actual quote from the press conference
Its like he goes out of his way to project.
Have you ever noticed how absolutely fixated this guy is on assigning people mental issues?
I am officially upgrading that from 🤔 to Ominous.
"We may never find out what caused this terrible tragedy, but rest assured that a minority was involved."
I agree with trumps sentiment. Old, fat, stupid, senile people should not be in positions that need to make critical decisions.
You killed 67 people, and it's only been a month of your "presidency."
A month? 10 days, mate. Months have around 30 days, so he still has time to raise that number.
Holy hell it's only been 10 days
These 10 days have been the longest decade of my life.
Cue in captain america's gif.
Trump is America's Asshole.
4 more years
Not if he gets that 3rd term...
Oh joy! /s
I only said month because even when he wasn't president yet, they were already making moves like he was. But you are correct it's ONLY been 10 fucking days.
Feels like 6 months already. Son of a bitch it's gonna be a long decade.
One mooch
Think of all the covid deaths, place responsibility where it belongs, right in his lap. 1000 deaths on average per week, I don't have the long covid disabilities numbers 'off the top of my head', but they are even more.
As much as Trump is absolutely terrible, Biden was equally responsible for the large number of COVID deaths. His administration made the CDC completely abandon masking, ventilation, and other preventative guidance, almost completely abandon or hide COVID statistics, and he also said that the pandemic was "over". Credit both of them, a pair of terrible presidents.
No he wasn't. You don't blame the guy who gets on the train after it was allowed to get up to speed and run out of control, for not being able to stop it fast enough.
You got a little bit of a point. Even if "equally" may be an exaggeration, you can certainly blame Biden for essentially dropping the push for masking, ventilation, vaccinations, and reporting of COVID. I do and always will. Like I said, both of them sucked regarding COVID.
"Equally responsible." You're out of your mind. 1 million COVID deaths under Trump. What kind of numbers you got for Biden?
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2024/09/18/covid-19-deaths-under-trump-1-million-fact-check/75197222007/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_pandemic_in_the_United_States
That means that about twice as many people in the US died from COVID under Biden's administration than under Trump's (1.2 million minus 400,000 = 800,000.
Granted, Biden had a lot longer time dealing with the pandemic than Trump did, but this was all just to point out that Biden ALSO sucked in his handling of COVID.
Trump's entire handling of the pandemic including telling his cult members not to respect the advice of professionals continued to kill people until we hit 1 million. That's roughly four months into Biden's presidency. You can't lay any of that on Biden.
What effects do you think Biden telling the CDC to stop pushing for masking, ventilation, vaccination, and reporting on COVID, and then telling the country that the pandemic was over had on COVID deaths?
Like I said, yes, Trump did a uniquely terrible job handling COVID (except for project warp speed to push for ultra-fast development of vaccines), but it's flabbergasting to see people speak as if Biden did nothing wrong in his own handling of the pandemic.
I'm not saying he was perfect. I'm saying the ideas pushed by Trump, Qanon, and other far right and conspiracy theory peddlers had already done their damage. By the time Biden took office, everyone had long ago sided with science or conspiracies. I doubt he convinced very many people one way or the other.
Ok, I somewhat agree - I think under-reporting happened under both sides, even if Republicans may have done more of it, because both sides had some of the same incentives to do it.
But that's beside the point. I'm just trying to get people to admit that Biden also did a bad job in handling the pandemic, in the interest of truth and acuracy, but I see that that's never going to happen with some people here (not directing this last sentence at you futatorius, but just in general with the people who have replied so far and those who downvoted me).
It's only been barely a week, bro...
I don't even know how you factor in other travesties. Like letting all those J6 criminals out of prison. One of them already had to be put down by a cop during a traffic stop. How do you factor that, when the safest option was to keep them in prison?
TrumpBodyCount = TrumpBodyCount + 67
I hate Trump as much as anyone else here, but I fail to see how his FAA firings cause this accident. Can you explain how this is his fault?
edit: Thanks for the downvotes assuming I'm a sealion, just because I asked a question.
Trump loves to blame people for things they have no direct control over, like blaming Boden for the cost of eggs, while taking credit for anything positive that happens while he is in office that had nothing to do with him.
I assumed OP was mocking that attitude, but could be wrong.
The Buck Stops With Trump. You have no idea what directives Pete Hegseth gave the Pentagon which effected the orders, maintenance, or operation of the BlackHawk Helicopter which flew into the plane killing everyone. When incompetence is put in charge, things break, sometimes slowly, sometimes immediately, and when you purposefully throw a monkey wrench into the internal operations of state organs, people die. And now people have died, on Donald Trump's watch. The Buck Stops With Him as it has with all other Presidents before him.
The entire federal workforce has extremely poor morale right now because of Traitorapist Trump. And the poor morale likely also caused the 2nd problem of not enough workers doing air traffic control. Trump's enshitification efforts have already had time to take effect. The quality of government has already been degraded.
https://www.politico.com/news/2025/01/30/federal-workers-buyout-offer-00201349
Staffing was not normal
That article says that they have been dealing with staffing issues for some time.
And you don't think the firing of even more employees didn't have an effect?
Not in that incident, no. It may affect the future, but that incident seemed to be pilot error according to the ATC recordings.
That's some stupid fucking horseshit. It would be nearly impossible to fire a large part of an organization without a noticeable effect. Here we have fatal evidence of that. Yeah people assume you're coming in bad faith because how could we not?
I'm all for making Trump look bad, so is you feel that this will damage him, I'm in. I just want to see some evidence or an ATC that would agree.
Trump plays to the American egregor of the CEO as Kingmaker. Literally proposes frequently running the USA as a business.
When you are the CEO the responsibility of the entire thing lies with you.
Now I don't agree with Trump, but it's merely holding him to his own standards.
When you put it that way, I agree. You want to be the king, you take the blame.
He doesn't actually care who or what is responsible as long as he can tell people it isn't him.
If he had half a brain he would just say investigations are ongoing whenever asked.
No because the plan is to blame literally everything that goes wrong on minorities.
You mean it's another of those trans illegal immigrants that escaped from an asylum that worked in an airport control tower in between all the pillaging and raping? It's crazy, how many are there of those anyway?
Instead of Trump's own major enshitification of the quality of government causing the morale of federal workers to plummet.
Never give up a good or even bad opportunity to try and throw someone in front of a bus. An opportunity not seized is a opportunity missed.
So trump is confirming his numerous physical and mental deficiencies?
So he blames himself? Refreshing change of pace there.
There is a good chance this was caused in large part by Trump and his enshitification efforts. Right now the entire federal workforce is demoralized by various actions of Traitorapist Trump, degrading the quality of government across all levels. Air traffic controllers are part of the federal workforce. They were also short staffed, which in itself was likely cause by the poor morale. Blaming the hiring of minorities makes no sense given that a big part of the problem was not enough staff.
Trump knows this and knows that other people will make that connection too, and so him blaming this on DEI was his way of deflect the blame away from his rapid enshitification of government.
Report is that one ATC was doing the work that's supposed to be done by two, due to staffing shortages.
One week ago: https://democrats-transportation.house.gov/news/press-releases/ranking-members-larsen-cohen-statements-on-trumps-dangerous-freeze-of-air-traffic-control-hiring
(D)ead in the water.
That together with the fact that people have been warning about this accident waiting to happen ever since the airport was built.
Helicopters go up. Helicopters go down. They go up. They go down.
~ super intellectual president
He blamed it on DEI and NTSB ex chief said trump did more to degrade the safety they’ve built than anyone in 40 years
Yes, he blamed DEI and specifically said it was due to the FAA hiring people with mental and physical disabilities.
More Trump projection.
More correct headline:
Airplane crashes a lot of times are very complicated with a lot of important factors leading up to the crash. This, combined with usually complete carnage and destruction, makes it that typical investigations take weeks, months, sometimes years.
Even if trump had been able to form a coherent message about the cause of this crash it would have been bullshit because never in the history of aviation did we know for certain what the cause of a crash was within 16 hours of a crash. It's. That. Simple.
Then again, this is trump, and no investigation will be made because this will become the official reason, the end
You could have said the same thing about the eating dogs and cats diatribe.
He's lampshading the next groups he's going to round up. I bet there's going to be an expansion of mental health intake and transfers of the "criminal" insane to the new camps that are getting opened up.
The bodies all came from a very cold river
It's time to preorder Trump's guide to being a good conservative: "Everything bad that happens is the fault of the people I hate"
As an autistic person (and no, we don't throw Nazi Salutes as stimming...) I honest to fucking god am so numbed by this guy's bullshit that it is kinda incredible.
All I could think of is how the mentally disabled were the first victims of the holocaust in WW2. Starting in 1939 around the time of the invasion of Poland.
The accident is 100% on Elon Musk and Trump. They fired the FAA safety officials and never replaced them, in addition to cutting massive amounts of funding and personnel that made an accident like this inevitable.
Fuck him. Fuck him HARD.
I just want to point out that
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/1/31/did-trumps-firing-of-aviation-officials-increase-likelihood-of-dc-crash
He is still an asshole, but the firing had, apparently, as much to do with the crash as DAI programms: nothing at all.
He's blaming everything on DEI and the democrats and black people and the mentally disability (even though he very likely has dyslexia, which might explain why people speculate that he is functionally illiterate). Don't let him have it.
And he's an idiot for doing so. Non the less, if experts who know more about the inner workings say that him firing people had nothing to do with it then I will trust them on it.
I know it makes a nice narrative: Trump blames DAI but is actually the one to blame. But if that narrative doesn't hold up to reality then i think we shouldn't push it forward.
It's bad enoth that he uses the death of humans to scream about his wired anti DAI point. He doesn't need to be responsible for the crash in order to criticise that.
Keep insulting the air traffic controllers that allow AF1 to land safely...
He's talking about himself
Please bring another slander lawsuit against him
yeah, he is god emperor immune... that's a waste of time
At the very least it’s another fact that will join him down into history. It’s not enough that he’s the worst president ever, we can tank his stats so no one ever comes close
Oh hey, we're headed towards useless eaters rhetoric really quickly
If you dont have a net worth that's 6 figures minimum, or come from a nice family with a background of being an american "patriot" or otherwise having come from a not-shithole country. then you're a useless eater.
"Useless eaters" are a term with a specific history of explicit oppression of the disabled (usually ablism is merely implicit).
Im aware. Im re-using the term with 21st century moron-think
I have literally heard strikingly similar arguments to the "useless eaters" rhetoric in refernece to everything from housing, jobs, and even f'ing gadgets.
have heard maniacs say "we gotta have a depopulation if we're gonna be able to continue affording our quality of life"
And Trump knows best, he has all the listed conditions himself.
In some way, it also symbolizes what he is doing to the country. His plane is just a bit bigger.
Maybe the intellectual disabilities, but the blame list included people with dwarfism.
I'd like him to tell that directly to Peter Dinklage, because I have no doubt that he could kick Trump's ass. And probably take out half the secret service on the way.
Do not fuck with this man.
Trump is so dumb, he probably thinks dwarfism means a micropenis, so in that case it does apply to him.
Peter Dinklage can kick Trump his ass both phisically and intellectually. But to be fair, most people can, from the age of 3 and up.
Why's he gotta bad talk the president like that.
He should work a shift as an air traffic controller so that people can understand he's just a regular guy like they are.
People are already suffering and dying because of him, let's not make it any easier for him to take lives.
A simulated shift, maybe.
He's not qualified. He is considered to have to much mental degradation and is barred by federal law to hold a position that important.
...wait
And once again, Trump controlled the conversation, and all the actual evidence is out there window for most people.
It would be awesome if there was an unspoken “don’t feed the troll” understanding among journalists, influencers, mods, forum commenters, everyone. When Trump says something outrageously stupid, just… briefly acknowledge it, and then ignore it and proceed as usual. Like he doesn’t exist.
That’s a narcissist’s worst fear.
Sure, he'd bounce around in the conservative echo chamber, but at least he wouldn’t pull more people in.
I seems like any time any post is made about anything Trump says, someone has to tell us all that it's a distraction from what's really going on.
As if Trump is even capable of that level of deception. Yes, Trump lies all the time... to get his way when he isn't getting it. Notice how he wasn't lying about the fascism.
You can't ignore it when it is coming from the president of the US
So he actually blames himself. Fair enough
Magically, for 16 years none of these issues resulted in this outcome
Next time AF1 goes for a jaunt to pedo-island, the air traffic controllers that trump is insulting have an opportunity to become really American heroes...
It would be great if every ATC suddenly denied Air Force 1 take off clearance because they “need a little extra time to ensure the president’s safety”
And yet one of them is in the White House running things
Has anybody checked to see if the spray tan he uses is known to cause brain damage?
"severe intellectual disabilities, psychiatric problems, or other mental or physical conditions"
I thought he was talking about his supporters.
Himself
The fucknut Orange Nero described himself.
Yes, and he is the one at fault.
Yup that is how this presidency will be explained. America had the potential to be the greatest country in the world, but it just always remains out of reach, and that fucker you have in charge will irreparable do even more damage.
I feel sorry for what you (not you in particular) voted for (or what was stolen by the tech bros).
Hope you make it through this.
History is unkind to Nero, who was really not that bad in comparison to a shitload of emperors that came before and since. I'm not saying Nero was good, I'm saying his reputation of being one of the worst isn't even close. I hope history is as unkind to Trump.
He’s projecting again
Well he's not wrong.
He's technically a public servant (worker) and his actions likely caused problems with ATC/FAA.
Amazes me that after the initial COVID response and just his entire public life, that anyone seems surprised that Trump is not the kind of person that should be making speeches about somber and serious subjects.
Let alone be in charge of the response to them, but that ship has sailed.
The dude with the intellectual disabilities is in the White House gutting the FAA
...or understaffed air traffic control where controllers have to do 2 jobs at once. Then you have a helicopter pilot who was not following ATC instructions.
For those keeping score, in his journey to fuhrer, you can mark this spot on your "classification of people Trump will put in camps" bingo card.
This is 10000% on Trump and Musk. I give them 30 days of they stay in the country
Holy shit. Yeah, and it could also have been you. We don't know right? Just use common sense right?
Nepotism(hiring unqualified friends and family) is far more rampant and way more destructive than DEI policies ever could be. DEI policies may help unqualified people gain low level positions, but with nepotism it's usually high level positions.
I agree that it is the fault of people with severe intellectual disabilities, psychiatric problems, or other mental and physical conditions...namely Donald J. Trump and Elon Musk both of whom are donkey-brained narcissists that have untold amounts of health problems including ketamine addiction, incontinence, HGH chest, and anhedonia.
They're a clear and present danger to the country.
He must be talking about Elon
It's amazing how well this works on n his base.
Blaming yourself won't help the families, Don.
Dumber every day.
that's a coinidence, guess what I'm going to blame America's impending economic crash on?
Probably Obama.
As a person with psychiatric problems, I take offense.
He just described himself. So….
Yeah, refuting an argument by saying "other stuff is at fault" is the work of a true well educated and informed intellectual.
And definitely not the sign of a massive narcissist.
He's talking about himself, isn't Trump?
Awh, they hurt themself in their own stupidity. :(
It's okay, Donnie boy, we all know how stupid you are. :')
Looks like we're in the "degenerate" stage of fascism now.
So, himself?
he's going fast!
Already preparing to put people with psychological disorders into camps..
Ah, right, of course the FAA is plopping unqualified people down in air traffic controller chairs to fulfill diversity goals, just like fits with Don's delusions. Except that isn't happening, ATC's have to undergo a rigorous physical and mental health check. There are plenty of other jobs in the FAA that this policy applies to.
He did preface those were his strong opinions.
Does he have any weak opinions?
Oh, now I remember. His press conferences during the first time were like rallies, just blurting random shower thoughts out.
…If the Dems had just advertised his first term conferences verbatim, no extra context, no picking and choosing, just shown them, they would have easily won.
No, people would have said "don't just be against Trump, tell us what you're for" and still stayed home.
They did in fact tell America what they're for and America wasn't in the market for it.
The people who paid no attention to his press conferences, tweets, and actions during his first term are not people who were paying any attention to Democratic messaging.
