in your opinion, what would meet the definition of "broke the Internet?"
11th September 2001 broke the internet. Every news site collapsed into text-only versions, email servers got overloaded as people tried to contact everyone they knew in NY/DC. I remember getting updates via a gossip forum that happened to have a user with a Reuters connection who copied the news as it came in. The BBC and CNN sites were completely useless.

Refusing to use a condom is a massive red flag. Yes, they reduce sensation, but they also protect both parties from significant health risks. An IUD is irrelevant to him at this stage
Always use a condom until you have both tested clear and are committed to each other. If your relationship is poly, then condom use and testing is required for every new partner, and it's sensible to have everyone retested when someone new comes into the relationship.
I'd personally be concerned about their behaviour, either then trying to coerce you into unprotected sex, or being a whiny shit refusing to use a condom. Both of these would make me consider withdrawing consent, but I'm a stickler for enthusiasm at all stages.

Honda warns of $16bn hit on its pivot away from EVs
Reply in thread
How can they pivot away from something they were barely doing? 18 months ago we went to our local Honda dealer, and the salesman spent the whole time telling us why the sole EV they had on the lot was a pile of crap and a waste of money. We'd made it clear that we were only interested in BEV due to the tax advantages and he just bad-mouthed the only option he had for making a sale.

How many days did your slowest torrent take to download?
This is still running. Sitting at 95.8%, with three unconnectable seeds and 41 unconnectable peers. I get a new piece every few days, so I'm confident it'll get there eventually.

I put a new fan in the bathroom and reduced the fan noise by 15 decibels
Reply in thread
There's only a bath, shower and sink in this room. Any pooping should take place in the WC next door. If that changes, I'll have more concerns than fan niose.

Budweiser is currently cheaper in Germany than in the United States*

I expect it's not an import, but produced under license somwhere in Europe. There's big brewing operations in UK and Croatia that makes it.

Ferrari Is Developing Fake Gear Shifts For Its EVs
This is fine as long as the speakers for the fake vroom vroom noises are in the inside of the car, not the outside. After all, if the drivers want to hear the noises, they can have them all to themselves.

the tenant needs to heat their house sufficiently to prevent mould,
And make sure to open windows regularly to stop condensation, coincidentally letting out all the bastard heat.

I really don't understand how people have 200+ guests at their weddings.
One of my colleagues has 104 first cousins who she wanted to invite. Catholic families can be BIG.

Bought 2 billy bookcases for £20 each in 1991, and moved them a couple of dozen times, including moving country twice. Last month I disassembled them and used the pieces to make wall shelves in the pantry of the house I bought 2 years ago. That's some longevity.

Simple question: Are you a nice person?
I'm a lovely person to everyone until they show me that they don't deserve it. After that, they are dead to me. Unfortunately, one of the people who has shown me that they don't deserve my time or respect is me, so i treat myself like shit. This does not work out so well for me.

What popular TV show did not do it for you and you quit watching?
I enjoyed the first season of Yellowjackets, but have given up halfway through S2 as I realised the writers didn't seem to have a plan, and were Lost-ing it, making up extra mysteries as they go along, just to pad the story out.

Survey reveals most people are holding onto their phones for a long time, and it makes sense
I bought a Poco X3 NFC for £200ish in Dec 2020. I've been bored of the phone for a few months and started looking around for a new one, but there's nothing out there that seems worth the "upgrade", certainly in a similar price bracket. I'd generally lose a headphone jack and/or an SD card slot and gain erm.... a more up to date Android version, I guess. I'd maybe get a better camera, but given my aging eyes and lack of skill are probably the limiting factors in my photography, I don't realy see the benefit. I only play puzzle-type games and don't do anything particularly graphic intensive, so where's the incentive to subject myself to even more intrusive AI nonsense and built in adverts that seem to be unavoidable in budget phones.
