The way the law is being enforced now, this should be an entirely legitimate argument. A snowball's chance in hell though that it holds up without a legal team like OpenAI has.

Domestic dispute call left a 2-month old dead from a trigger happy officer. Another news article quoted "It looked like her head exploded"

The passive voice writing in this article is as usual playing defense for the police.

Independence police’s response to that 911 call ended with the shooting death of Pike, 34, and her two month old daughter, Destinii Hope. Let me rephrase this in a less passive way. The response to that 911 call from the independence police officer ended with him shooting Pike, 34 and her two month old daughter, Destinii Hope, to death.

I'm not implying this specific author or newspaper are writing in this style out of malice. I think this is part of a problem with the culture in journalism, because most articles on police violence are written this way.

What If We Made Advertising Illegal?

It's also such a funny contradiction: a big part of the free market model rests on the idea that well informed consumers can vote with their wallet, which should reward good businesses and punish bad ones. Yet it is very difficult to argue consumers have ever been informed enough to make this work, which is in large part due to advertising flooding communication channels with noise, and also because it is unreasonable to expect a consumer to be fully informed for the hundreds of purchases they make on a daily basis.

COVID levels rising in much of U.S., with highest in West, CDC says

Vaccination rates would be my first guess as well. Individually vaccines reduce the severity of symptoms, which makes it less likely for people to notice and report that they have COVID. The vaccine also reduces the viral load spread by individuals, therefore making it less likely for them to spread the virus, and it also makes it less likely for you to become sick if you come into contact with the virus.

Considering the difference in population density between the USA and The Netherlands (NL is way denser) I'd say this is a good demonstration of how vaccines are miracles of modern science.

This kind of border agent is why I won't be travelling to the US anytime soon. If this person was that bad in 2000, imagine what they're like with the power to send you to a concentration camp if you look at them the wrong way.
