why hard exit editor? Nano say at bottom.

I love nano. I used to do tech support for a Linux-based content management system (before SAaS take took off).. The customer sysadmins were sometimes whichever engineer was volun-told to do it, so competency varied wildly.

I helped mostly with installs. This might be the poor newbie sysadmin's first time on the command line. Nano was my go-to suggestion for editing config files--all the commands are right there! Much less intimidating than vi or emacs for a newbie.

toy rule

Back when I was a kid, they'd judge your kid and give you whatever they thought corresponded to the kid's genitalia. Even when I heard my mother ask for a car toy I'd end up with a Barbie.

Being constantly disappointed by Barbie toys may have been my first hint I wasn't a girl.

Bedtime

My pup gets upset if I'm not home before dark. My partner works from home and gives me updates on how angry the pup is, as soon as the sun starts to set. This dog sits and stares at the front door, tiny ears quivering as he grumbles.

Anyways, I obey my curfew. (He's fine if I get home then leave.)

The last time I went car shopping, it was as the ride for my carless roommate (we were dating, but he introduced me to the car rep as his ride and roommate). He ended up talking to a manager about a car and the manager kept bad-mouthing my car, talking about how unsafe it was, etc. I just kept knitting next to him because the whole situation was not my problem, but I was confused until my roommate said pointedly "you're not going to get my roommate's car as a trade-in". I got up to help myself to their snacks and coffee.

He did not get a car from that dealership.

Valid point

I left my wallet on my work desk and a youngling helped walk me through using my phone to pay for my drive-through coffee order. I felt so cool and high tech.

Of course, when we got to "turn on NFC" the youngling asked what NFC was. I think I told him it was like Bluetooth and let the phone talk to the card reader.

My older "forgot my wallet" technique was to make an online order for pick up and enter my organically memorized credit card information into the online form.

Sure wasn't my industry. It's nearly obligatory to meme your slides and include pictures of your pet(s) on the "any questions" slide.

On the other hand, I'm in libraries. We may be professionals but we're not highly paid 😂

I've had a class do this for women that lived in my city 100 years ago. We had them pick folks out of the voter rolls for the first general election women were allowed to vote in.

Some of the papers got wicked detailed.
