After 10,000+ hours grinding, MapleStory's first level 300 player slams the brakes at 299.99 to rant about the MMO and then quit, all on a dev-promoted stream

gamers will use what little voice they have to place the spotlight on a shit game and giving it an award, getting people to buy that game. Holy shit this is stupid

I'd rather see "gamers" vote for actual good and fitting games for these awards, starving shit games from any attention and money.

Pope Francis has died

Reply in thread

I mean, people can simultaneously realise the gravity of this, AND poke fun at the coincidence thst the Pope died after meeting JD Vance.

You aren't contributing much either by making an entire comment criticising those people. Why not ignore and move on and make an useful comment?

It's also okay to not have something important or ground-breaking to say. I don't think people saying JD killing him are ruining the internet.

  1. "Man" in certain contexts is shorthand for "Human" or "Humankind". Imagine how tedious it would be to write a sentence where everytime you wanted to use this shorthand, you'd instead "Men, Women and Children".
  2. OP even said "Men, women and children died because of who they were", so your point of "referring to the dead collectively as men" makes no sense.
  3. 99.9% of people reading OP's comment wouldn't have even begun thinking about this.

Overall, I think it's more insensitive to read a comment like OP's, and instead of taking the right point home and moving along, you decide to nitpick in an attempt at some sort of "Gotcha", which couldn't have been done more wrongly and with such confidence (or arrogance?)

"better detailed" doesn't necessarily mean "better art" ...

Art being fidel to reality is it's own subset of art movement, called realism. Many people appreciate it as "wow this is so close to real life/so much effort", but then if you ask people what they think the greatest artworks are they might bring any artist. Van Gogh, Da Vinci, Dalí, Picasso, Pollock, etc.

So no, just because something is closer to real life does not make it "objectively the best art" in the broader sense of art. Maybe you can measure that when pit against other realism pieces, which sre not as faithful to real life.
