Do you think that Edward Snowden is a hero?
mixed but yes. the govt made an example of him and from the popular standpoint he was serving the people. he also helped GDPR so thats factored in. currently the police state is still winning.

Supermarkets destroy food if it doesn't sell. We can always feed the world. We just don't.
i heard local vendors would give their unsellable foods (discolored etc) to churches to hand out. dont know how much but its a tough issue.

Which is worse: Friends or Seinfeld?
havent watched the shows but i heard their openings a lot. friends has that iconic opening song that reminds me of the good days.
seinfeld has that funk and feels like a proper laugh track kinda vibe.
ima say friends is worse cause of the fandom.

Christian dad sued school to keep his son from knowing that LGBTQ+ people exist. He just won.
Amazing they enroll someone in school to not learn things. Devout ignorance.

New York's 3D printer law is NOT gun control; it's just.... control.
Always an overreach. Had a convo with teacher and they don't even have a plan if someone comes to school with a weapon. Instead they want mass surveillance and have everyone just report on each other.
They want to take the capitalist approach and not fix the current system.

Nvidia Announces DLSS 5, and it adds... An AI slop filter over your game
AI filters on the end result that basically kills the soul of the art direction. I can see a game parody that capitalizes on this.

ICE Reportedly Stole a 10th Grader's Phone, Then Seemingly Sold It for Cash
The is pretty much the American version of Kriristallnacht. ICE should've spent 47 days reading history books. it's mind boggling how the more evidence we have, the more double downing any trump regime supporters do.

i like the perspective. the system favors the wealthy class and the U.S is just too big. if it were the size of nyc or texas, maybe. but the coordination required is impossible for the "rebellion". the U.S is becoming a straight up surveillance state and it'll be more difficult as time goes on.

More than 400 TSA officers have quit since shutdown began
So the US is now stuck with ICE agents everywhere until they get DOGEd out? No real freedom of movement anymore and I imagine these guys are worse than cops. I anticipate they'll make gangs out of themselves cause they're so large and unchecked

i can't think of any meaningful reform passed that has benefited a citizen. if it did, it's not enforced enough to be significant. cops have too much power and influence on the courts to ever face accountability. i watch civil rights lawyer and most of the time cops commit crime when it comes to money or avoiding accountability.

Why are people so rude on Reddit compared to the Fediverse?
I think some bots are trained to be controversial and mean. Controversial take would be that age verification roots out the young pranksters from certain communities.

America Broke Something When It Gave Trump a Second Chance
I think it's pulling the bandaid off. The US was already on its way to being the capitalist beast it is. Getting eyes on this is great and gives the chance for other countries to get more leverage.
And the folks that weren't planning on waking up got their call.

they have an alternate algorithm. when news like this come up, they perceive it as negative and it impacts whatever engagement they have. Similar to how we start to tune out of stuff that make us upset.
They went all in on and are double downing on "fake news" because they identify with their leader all too well.
edit: the jubilee videos are a good example of how they'll rush to debate a "lib", but they all can't agree with each other's facts its insane.
