CAT6 RJ45 crimping issues

Cat6 jacks are slightly different in their layout and crimping.

They’re 100% compatible with all your existing ports, however they do require a cat6 compatible crimper which crimps slightly deeper than on cat5.

So likely you’re having trouble because the pins are not deep enough and are preventing the jack from being insertable.

What software are you using for CAD/modeling?

I use FreeCAD, Fusion, and Solidworks. I don’t love freecad as it’s unintuitive and clunky. Solidworks is powerful and okay but I often find myself fighting with it.

Fusion, so far has been the one I like most, but it doesn’t run on Linux which forces me to keep my MacBook around. The collaboration features in fusion are good and it handles step files way better than solidworks does.

I know Rhino is really good for the price, so maybe consider testing it out. I believe the licensing is perpetual.

Would you move to another country?

Having recently moved to Europe due to the political situation and level of threat to me and my family back in my home country, I can definitely say it can work out extremely well.

I now live in the first world where I’m actually cared for as a human being by the laws and regulations.

But ultimately it’s your prerogative to determine the course of action that suites your goals and desires.
