I'm recreating an old gamemodes and going to host them, first is Minecraft Cores!

Edit: its working now https://github.com/Arda501/ReCored

Maybe you remember a gamemode from the 1.8 days called Cores or under a different name. The one I grew up with was played in a German server called gommehd.net, the mode has been gone for years and they even declined to sell me the code and I could never find a different server with it.

Cores is similar to bedwars, but always only 2 Teams of various sizes, each team has 2 Cores (beacons) as long they exist you have infinite respawns and once they're mined the game is over. Mining a core take a long time and thus defending it is fairly easy and you have to build and attack with multiple people to successful mine one. This results often in either matches that are over in an instant or that go on for so long that all islands become fully build and overtime the battlefield starts looking like world war 1 trenches. There is some loot on the map, in middle and outer islands and at certain times other loot and bosses spawn, this makes it kind of similar to a moba, you can farm and make your team stronger which will often be needed if both sides are good enough.

I'll admid that the whole code will be mostly vibecoded as I can't code much but since its a fairly simple mode I expect it to work well, I already got the basics working and will open source or and host it on my own server aswell once it's finished. If anyone would like to help make maps for it let me know, you can see an example in the picture, its islands based.

Are there any other old gamemodes that have become lost in times you guys remember? After this I'm going to start recreating a nieche mode that was called bow bash, and I plan to make my server an archive of these old gamemodes of there's enough interest

I'm looking for testers

Hey guys, we're trying to build the next-gen gaming server host, where people would pay by-the-hour, instead of monthly, to save on costs.

We're in public beta, and we'd happily host your Minecraft games, if you'd like to play with your friends, family and team, in exchange for feedback on reliability and service as a whole.

The website is https://warp.cool/

My Discord @adamwarp

Just let me know if you're interested, and I'll assign you your credits.

Your feedback would be invaluable to us!

(Factorio players welcome as well)

A SHARP MINER: Not advertising. *"Recruiting."* [Server]

Hello again! A couple of months ago I dropped in here with some builds and the response has been amazing. Well, I'm here today to inform all of you that the server those builds are from is about to update to one of the newest versions, and that means we are starting a fresh map! We have a bit of a problem however: "Lack of players." Our server owner has mostly moved away from Minecraft, (for now) and as her and her husband and her friends were half the server, this has left a bit of a void in our community.

Rather than violate rule 3, I will simply describe the server and if that server is something that interests you as a player, perhaps we can discuss further steps privately. The point here is to seek out new players, and to that end, you'll need to know what we are about.

#A Sharp Miner, The Who:

ASM is an "18 plus" server, however, as some of the members have children of their own, they occasionally play on it. We are generally left leaning in ideology, and have a strong "personality type first" attitude toward the whitelist. We are almost all MBTI type INXX's (I myself am an INTJ, our server owner is/was an INFP) and do not like drama.

It is preferred that if you apply to join, you are serious about game play. We are looking for players who have a passion for their builds, not folks who are just popping in to check the latest update, slap together a dirt hut and then not play for several months, or until the map resets. We are accepting redstone savants, lore builders, explorers and/or minigame mavens. Filming on the server is allowed and encouraged!!

#The Culture:

We do have a series of QoL mods installed, but otherwise run fairly vanilla. Our server is set to hard difficulty. We usually pre generate chunks out to about 1500 blocks from spawn, and our world border is set to 50K. We do have the sleep limit set to half the server, so it is advised that you keep a bed on you at all times, when out exploring. (people not in the over world are not counted.) We do NOT have a user economy, as such. Instead we have a community storage area, and any "shoppes" at or around spawn are free to take from. ("tip jars" are allowed however.) If you would like to charge for any items, you may set up such shops at your personal base. The end is locked until about a month or two into the server, to allow players to explore, enjoy the early/mid game, and generally "Gear up." Our server map (An external browser based plugin called Dynmap) is also locked until after the dragon hunt, for similar reasons. Server seed is known only to server admin and the owner. At the end of each map, it is saved and posted in our servers' discord, and usually hosed on a google drive, or drop box, for use in single player. All bases must be at least 250 blocks from spawn and 50 blocks from each other, unless you happen to be double/group basing. (this is to avoid drama) Mines are a bit more lax about this rule, but do try to keep it "under your base" or stake a claim farther out where it will be less of an issue. (we've never had any, TBF, so use your best discretion)

Generally, we have the usual rules: don't be a douchebag, don't be a bigot, don't greif people, clean up after your pranks, PVP is on, but should be consensual, you know the drill. If a creeper blows it up "near civilization" please refill the hole, don't hog/raid all the structures, within reason, etc. We try not to build duplicate public farms, however, you may earmark any farms you personally build as private, in which case this does not apply. If you build a "better" public farm, the old one may be decommissioned.

#Our Community

We have a discord server, and chat is usually logged to that, however the pugin is a bit borked at the moment. We occasionally run events (in game) in line with the holidays, but it's pretty relaxed. We have a couple mods specifically for fun like a /joke command, Troll machine, and if there's more than 3 people on a game called "Man Hunt" begins where you have nine minutes to find and click on another player designated. Fabulous prizes go to you if you succeed; The same goes to the chosen player if you do not. It's actually a great way to get some hard to find items!

So this is what A Sharp Miner is about. Again, strictly speaking, this is just talking about the server I play on and what it's like. No obligation or pitches are in anyway intended. If this server sounds like something that appeals to you though, feel free to shoot me DM, and we can discuss options for onboarding you to the whitelist/contacts for the Admin team.

#What are your servers like?

I've finished my base, And so it's time to reset the Server. One of the things i did was to make a "tomb" for myself. (more in comments) [Build]

This is not my server, just the one I play on. It's been almost exactly 2 years since I started, but there's no more I could add beyond flowers and shrubs. Before the map gets reset, I put my gear off of my person so there's no chance that when the world download happens, I'll accidentally log on with our server admins gear (he forgot to reset the player files one time). Since I do this I took to "hiding" my stuff and sort of challenging the other members to find it. This time, I finally went through with what I've been meaning to do for a while now: A good old fashioned treasure hunt! I hid 9 clues far and wide around our map, often in meaningful places, but a few are just placed for the adventure of it. Each clue leads to the next and tests your knowledge of the map and fellow players through fun little rhyming riddles. If you can decipher all 9, you'll learn the location of my stash (tomb) and take it for your own use if you chose to use this map in single player- And I have FULLY enchanted, trimmed, named Netherite gear, with duplicates for both Silk touch AND Fortune 3, plus fully enchanted secondary gear. basically, if it's a tool, and I can enchant it, it's been enchanted. I also have a mobile base kit, shulkers dedicated to bone blocks, torches, and ender pearls, an ammunition shulker, a rocket shulker, a food shulker, 12 mass mining and transportation shulkers and 4 "junk" crates for the rando stuff one tends to acquire as one plays like hostile mob drops, seeds, and other general flotsam. This stuff is professional level gear, optimised to handle most anything the game could throw at you.

Merged multiple worlds into one

So I have run a minecraft server for so long, but in that time we also started multiple spawns, and additional worlds. Pretty much no one plays on the server anymore and most of the worlds fell into archive status, so I got the idea, I never want to lose anybodies work and I like to personally just stroll around the world and find stuff someone built.

I decided to try and merge all the worlds together into one big super world. I used MCA selector to filter all the chunks that had more than a certain amount of play time and purge the rest, then afterward I copied all those chunks onto the biggest world, trying to find a decent spot on the map for them to go.

The world is still a bit of a mess but I hope that this gives me a nice base line to just continue to play it at my own pace and clean it up in game.

My plan is to go through the various spawn points and just work out and clean up the paths from place to place and peoples builds that didnt come back.

I also deleted everyones inventory, which is kind of sucky but at the same time I think if anyone does ever come back having a partial fresh start makes the game fun again. A big reason for this was players played on multiple worlds so I didn't have a good way to pick and choose which inventory to keep for the hundreds of players over the years.

Having one world instead of like 5 makes it much easier to keep up with, updating the plugins etc. also the backups are much nicer, instead of 70gb servers now its less than 15 after the purge. all the original servers were kept the way they were but taken offline.

One of the last builds I'm doing this map! A base welcome center and function hall! [Java 1.21.10][Builds]

Hello again! Another Build from the A Sharp Miner server! I was tempted to post the entire build progress, but since that's like a dozen images, I thought that might be a bit much. This is not 100% complete, as the interior is still in progress and I may still tweak the outside a bit, but it's "thumbnail" ready as far as I'm concerned.

I can post interiors later if you guys want. :) [edit] You guys asked for it!

The entrance as viewed from my base's south gate (the primary one)

The first floor is a lounge area, with various amenities for visitors. This is still in 1.21.10 so not having cushions is...painful, NGL.

I understand server etiquette!

It's Unisex. Whatever. Just wash your hands after!

Casual discussions, hang-outs, chill vibes. You get the idea.

SNACKS. You best believe it's stocked!! Cookies, pies, wattah mellone, lava chicken, all the good stuff!

An overview of my base. Yes, those are actual, functional farms.

No Welcome Center worth its salt is complete without an Info Kiosk. Here's mine. Has a list of farms and amenities at my base, some simple rules which amount to "Don't touch my shit if it's in my actual house, and my (specific) Horses are off limits, but otherwise 'Mi casa, su casa,'" and a little blurb about what inspired me to build this way. It also lists the other farms I built for the server.

On Floor 2 we have a meeting room/banquet hall not much to say here. Has some nice art, and I used ascii art to get the hardware on the buffet tables.

Floor 3 is the Auditorium and Public address space. Perfect for more important gatherings, open mic nights, or concerts. The shaders I use don't really work well with banner gradients, but the lighting was too good to pass up. The server uses the microblocks from wandering trader mod, so I was able to get this chunk of polished deepslate to make a rather believable microphone!

I kept the upper floor a bit minimalistic because I figure that it would best facilitate large gatherings by not having clutter everywhere.

GUYS!!! I GOT IT UP AND RUNNING!!!

So a few days ago, I posted a message asking if this was even possible. I got Minecraft up and running on my Retroid Pocket Flip 2 without any microsoft account.

I only play single player, but maybe there is an unofficial server one of you host, that I could play on? I've never played Java edition before, so I never played online.

I'm also getting used to minor differences between Java and Bedrock. Like crafting items is so different. It's very akward with a controller. Took me a day or so to figure things out.

Also, are there SUPPOSED to be this many enemies when you first start? I was building my little survival dirt hut, and then when night time came, I counted 14 creepers. My hut kept getting blown up. I had no time to rebuild, because creepers survive the day, and for some reason were very glitchy at first. They were staying still until they saw me, then they'd fly at me like an enderman, only to instantly explode. No Hssss. Just instant bombing. 14 times in one day cycle.

I've got a bunch of torches around my house now. And I built a creeper disposal system. Shame they don't drop gun powder if they fall. Oddly enough, zombies still drop rotten flesh if they fall.

Still waiting on skelitons to fall into my trap.

Now I just gotta figure out an enderman disposal system, and a spider disposal system.

Also, the game says I've been here for 25 game days. I've yet to see a single animal besides octopuss. Is that normal?
