Pretty sure it's because NixOS is reproducible. You can send your configs to your friend and they'll get a file-for-file identical copy of NixOS to yours (obviously except the user files)

I think it's the keyboard. The keyboard manufacturers lace their keyboards with estrogen, which is unnoticeable to Windows users who mostly use the mouse, but it affects Linux users, who predominantly live almost entirely mouse-free
