Weird Bone Interpolation during Pose-to-pose Animation

The video is self-explanatory, but here is some additional info:

  • The poses are, as can be inferred, in the pose library.
  • I think the problem is this: When I saved hand-on-hip pose, I only saved upper and lower arm bones, which only saved the transformation of those bones and not the hand itself. So, during interpolation, hand naturally interpolates to default standing pose.

Why am I getting seams on my normals?

Some spots are fine, others have seams. There are marked seams on the mesh, but the UV map is seamless, and removing the marked seams seems to have no impact.

Edit: No seam visible when looking at normals or tangent via a geometry node, nor when looking at the UV map applied to the model as color. I'm pretty sure it has to be something to do with the UV mapping node.

Edit 2: I've uploaded the file here.

What other official ways of creating stylized hair exist?

The NURBS path method didn't really work out for me, and obviously neither the realistic hair nor low-poly would work for my workflow/style. While being much harder, I tried various attempts at just modelling the hair as a mesh, it looks closer to what I want, but still pretty cumbersome to do, and still not perfect.

I'm currently wondering if there's some stuff I haven't found (maybe some plugin I don't know of?).

Is there a way to set up a shortcut so that I can rotate an object 90 degrees with one button?

I’m making a boomershooter and to facilitate level design, I made square modular pieces that snap together. Right now, I’m having to hit R, Z, 90 or 180, or -90 and it’d be three to four times faster if I could hit a single key.

I’m playing openRCT2 right now and it’s nice just hitting one key to rotate things in that. I wish I had that for building my levels in Blender.

"The final vestiges of Homo-sapien.", Cycles, by me.

A piece of concept art for a project I'm working on. From my Crappit post: The composition is the desert, the sky, and the vessel. Tilted to create an illusion of motion and of looking-up. I tried to use scattering to create a sense of great distance.

If you like this, follow us for more. This is concept art for a much larger project. :)

Hi there!

Just wanted to share the first lesson of my Blender video course. It is in Ukrainian, so if you ever wanted to learn Blender and practice Ukrainian this is your bingo :))

I’m going to post videos every week, there are 10 lessons in total. I will share them here as well.

Thank you for your attention :)

What are the things that crashed your render?

I deleted almost everything from a project, and it still crashes. I rendered an older project again to see if it's a problem with a new driver or Blender version, but everything worked fine.

So my hardware appears to be OK, Blender is OK, and the driver is OK. But something inside the project file is causing trouble.

The project had over 1.6 million faces and more than 1,000 objects. Now 14 objects and only 4,300 faces. It's still crashing. No matter which render engine I use. Tested with Cycles, EEVEE, Hydra Storm.

And it doesn't crash at the first frame. It renders a random number of frames correctly and then crashes.

Blender .obj-export precision

I am currently creating some meshes that are then exported as OBJs. I am really only interested in the vertex positions and normals, as everything else will be done with shaders. But I keep coming across… well, not really a issue.

Some exported vertex positions deviate from their in-editor position by literally a micrometer. Again, I know that this is basically irrelevant. Perhaps, if I were to compress the files, I might have a few kilobytes more data than actually necessary.

…but I keep seeing this and it annoys me for no practical reason. Does anyone know if there is a "fix" for this behavior?
