How do you find the meds? Anyone tried non-stimulants?

This shouldn’t be a big difference, but I’ve always been advised to take it with something high protein. Porridge should have enough protein, but you might want try it with a low sugar yogurt or tofu/egg.

I do notice a difference between how it affects me when I have a full normal breakfast and when I have a plain piece of bread or cookie, but porridge would probably fall into the former category for me.

‘It’s like a furnace’: French struggle with heat-trap homes as climate inequality grows

There were two mentions of not using fans to save on electricity costs. It looks like the greater Paris area pays an average price of ~€0,10/kWh and standing fans use an average of 40 watts. Are people on such strict budgets that the maximum cost of ~€3/month for running a fan 24/7 is impossible? Otherwise, it sounds like France should make some public service announcements about fan usage.

All that said, it’s supposed to be 44 degrees this week in France, so I don’t know if a fan is even super relevant, though it could at least be used at night.

‘Degrading’: why did a US fighter pilot avoid British trial after strangling a woman in England?

There are too many snippets that are ridiculous, you should really read the article, but here are a few:

The jury – who heard the case in April this year at RAF Lakenheath, the largest US base in Britain – was a panel of eight air force officers.

All were stationed on the same base as Wulfson. All were men.

The panel’s president, equivalent to a jury foreman, was the chief of the squadron that maintains the jets flown by Wulfson. Another panel member had been acquitted of sexual offences at a court martial several years earlier.

In his opening statement, [defense attorney] Bilecki confidently asserted: “This is a play for money,” saying his client had been “set up for money”. Steele repeatedly denied this. She said she had applied to the scheme – and had still not received a decision – to cover loss of wages arising from difficulties going back to work after the assault.

The prosecution described Bilecki’s theory as absurd. By his closing submissions, he seemed less confident in this aspect of his case. “Do I know if she’s doing this for money? I don’t know,” he said.

Due to specific requirements under US law, the intimate images and report detailing the forensic examination of Steele’s vagina shortly after the alleged assault were not admissible as evidence.

You know, I started a comment telling you to go for it because it won’t hurt the cars, but I’d definitely think I ran over a small animal and it might lead to people stopping to check and endangering themselves…

Okay, given that the benefits of adulthood are being able to reenter the world of your childhood hobbies with the foresight of more experience, I say you throw crabapples onto train tracks.

Ultraprocessed Foods Linked to Measurable Drops in Human Attention Span

Reply in thread

I know it’s not that unhealthy, but I buy it with preservatives and stabilizers, etc. I could make it (and used to make it), but it’s currently so hot and humid where I am that my cat’s litter box grew mold in the 24 hours between cleanings*. I just don’t have the fridge space for anything else, because we have to keep basically everything cold. And freshly made oat milk sucks 🫠

/* I seriously want to rant about how ridiculous this is. I know feces is obviously fertile ground, but a matrix of mold grew through the clumps of urine soaked litter itself. Granted, I intentionally use biodegradable litter but shouldn’t cat pee have enough ammonia to be inhibitive to fungus for at least 24 hours?

Bill Gates says Epstein sought to blackmail him over extramarital affairs

Reply in thread

The way I engage with it, it’s 100% normal humans treated like cows as a form of humiliation. They might be dressed somewhat reminiscently of them, but it’s not nearly as elaborate as furries. It could be as simple as wearing a cowbell, and doesn’t get to full coverage like with a fursuit. It’s also exclusively sexual for me, so it doesn’t feel very similar to furries from my non-furry perspective.

It’s not rape, but I definitely engage with cnc related to it. I can’t explain why I’d like to be treated like livestock, but I do.

Bill Gates says Epstein sought to blackmail him over extramarital affairs

Reply in thread

Ah, that’s a fair guess from the context. I enjoy sexual humiliation from a known partner within a safe, sane, and consensual framework, but I don’t like just anything embarrassing.

Like, I’d prefer it to blackmail, but I have higher social anxiety levels than most people do and don’t seek to be a clown or center of attention at all. I think I would probably cry and leave if asked to do something like that in public.

Rassismus in Ostdeutschland: Baden nur für Deutschländer

Reply in thread

Can you show the boss the application process/complain yourself in the newspaper? Unless you don’t really care, because that’s kind of a hassle either way
