This is painfully true

Friendly reminder that Tailscale is VC-funded and driving towards IPO
I'm unsure if it has been mentioned, but a similar tool which is open source (you can run the backend unlike tailscale), netbird

It's never been a better time to switch to Firefox
Container tabs are hands down the best add-on I have ever used. Being able to use multiple accounts across tabs is fantastic. Alot of my colleagues have switched due to this alone

Lemmy World outages
In a way, the ddos attacks are helping highlight the slow parts of the system causing a reason to optimise them? It's kind of a double edged sword

Lemmy.world status update 2023-07-05
Whilst I'm aware that too many users on one instance can be a bad thing for the wider Fediverse, I think it is a great thing at the moment in terms of how well people are banding together to fix the issues being encountered from such a surge in users.
The issues being found on lemmy.world results in better lemmy instances for everyone and improves the whole Fediverse of lemmy instances.
I'm very impressed with how well things are being debugged under pressure, well done to all those involved 👏

To all the new(er) Reddit refugees!
I sense a real opportunity for the Fediverse off the back of Reddit and third party apps porting across.
If the UX (user experience) is similar then it'll more than likely pull people across.
So far the communities have been extremely friendly and it is a breath of fresh air

Nothing better than being greeted with Futurama, for the Fediverse when new episodes of Futurama drop in July! (I'm extremely excited for the new season)

The way this egg peels in infuriating
Haven't seen this mentioned, best way to prevent this is to fry the egg, make an omelette or even scrambled eggs 👀
I feel like that scene in Forest Gump with the shrimp

Try planet crafter, similar feel for the bases, but what a game (I've been hooked since I started)

Planet crafter, steer clear of that game. That's some addictive shit, I 100%'ed that game before I even knew what I was doing. Really hit the subnautica style base building, alongside a progression system that frankly didn't take the piss with my time

Your username has suddenly become your only means of staying alive. How bad is it?
I sell tea, as 418 is a teapot, so I'd say not so bad
