Wagner Group captures headquarters of the Southern Military District and the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Rostov, the headquarters of Russia's base of operations for War in Ukraine

People are tired of this war. Putin wanted to secure food reserves and have an open access sea port for his military; however he wasn't honest as to his reasons why; understandably so. Given this the Russian public doesn't see the actual geopolitical value of the conflict. This was inevitable. If Russia couldn't play nice with the rest of the world as their money mostly comes from oil and gas; which we are moving away from. Let them pay for their crimes.

LIVE: CBS confirms, debris from Titan submersible indicates rapid and catastrophic implosion. The people on board are believed to be dead.

They understood the risks; there is no question in my mind that they didn't. I think they were bored with what life could offer them with that much money. At a certain point you really can basically experience it all. Instead of going on a tested rocket ship; they gambled the ultimate wager. Their life or bragging rights. Image the tale you could tell coming back from the journey in such a rigged tube; or the publicity of your fatal demise and making a "historical" moment regarding it. The world was watching. Darkly their death reads better than any final service of passing or headstone does.

Gradual removal of port forwarding from the IVPN service

With all the sites and release groups that have shut down recently there seems to be something big occurring. It looks like this might be the gradual shut down of open trackers chaps. IVPN was the choice for services for years; will have to see what happens from here. I felt comfortable using their service; however this changes my self hosting. Usenet from here on out? IRC? Where do we go from here?

headphones?

I'd say that if you want the best made; lowest costing headphones that have been in production for over 20 years try Koss Porta Pros. Get the older model that looks like it's from the 80's. It works great without an amp; folds up for travel; stands up to abuse; and generally is a great value. They can be had for $40.

Hey selfhosted, any tips or tricks for running cat6 in your home?

My advice. Call a local electrician or small business networking company; get some quotes for what you are looking for. Have 2 cables run from the network interface box to where your router/firewall is in addition to a second location in case you ever need to expand the network setup in you home. The cost is well worth not worrying about pulling cables. Install CAT6 boxes in almost every room you foresee a cable ever being run. Good luck! I recently rewired my home with CAT6 from the fiber interface box and am now enjoying 900/850mb everywhere in my home.

Juste received this love letter from reddit's admins

Reply in thread

I think it's a combination of both; people want apps to work; reddit wants ads to serve and NSFW content removed prior to IPO; and they want to disenfranchise the user base. It's similar to the twitter fucking stuff; change of moderation; change of API access; and control of what people are saying. In addition /u/spez is pissed that he sold in 2005 and wants his share of internet gold. ;)

Home, Education, Full 6" latex memory foam mattress, Quality sheets, Blackout Curtains, Thinkpad laptops (T series and X1 series; don't game), WD red drives, VPN access (port forwarding; needed for hosting), FIOS (1gb asynchronous; no data cap; they don't care), Brother laser printer/scanner, Email account on secure server (they take care of business)

It's a place that is haunted. Hurt by the past. Small communities of friends who are ghosts. They hide obscurified in the noise to talk. Mumblings of a distance past of which they refuse to let go of because there, self hosted, they are beholden to none of this world.

Hell yeah! Tell 300 baud the speed at which I read is faster than he can be.

Reply in thread

Sorry about that; I thought it was related to computers. [email protected] looked to me as a off branch of computer related jokes. To explain 1200 baud was the next step up from the first true computer modem; the 300 baud modem (circa 1980) was so slow you could watch the characters as they appeared on the screen. 1200 baud was a major upgrade; at the time everything was text, no colors, nothing fancy; 1200 baud was like the cable modem of it's time. Thank you for letting me know kindly. Take care.
