Agreed!
For variety, I sometimes switch it up with charcoal, ebony, or obsidian.
But for special occasions I'll break out the soulcrusher's Vantablack.

Tim Walz says he and Harris were too ‘safe’ during 2024 presidential campaign
And the Dems are, mostly, still too safe. They need to start fighting while they still have a chance of stopping the insanity.
Step 1: Schumer needs to step down.

Trump orders firing of labor statistics chief hours after data showed jobs growth slowed
So if you don’t lie to make the numbers look good, you’re fired.
Just great. And to think I was skeptical of the government’s economic reporting before this bs.

Why do people insist on not answering ALL the questions in an email or text message?
Few people can focus enough to read.
I work in a technical field. In the past few years I’ve learned that interacting by email usually requires one-line sentences or bullet points, with any questions being numbered. No fluff, no secondary thoughts or possibilities. Keep it as minimal as possible.
It still fails to elicit a coherent response about half the time, but it’s the best I’ve found so far.
It didn’t use to be like this. But what’s to blame; screen addiction, microplastics, covid, increased stress, … ?

Why many men struggle to maintain deep male friendships later in life
Reply in thread
I feel that part of the reason is the lack of any kind of 3rd-space. And that’s what churches are for some people. (I’m also not religious)
I’ve tried to find others that would want to open up a community makerspace but have had no luck.

Trump 'likely' will fire Fed Chair Powell 'soon,' White House official says
Reply in thread
Yeah, I don’t get the “trumpf will fire Powell” thing. He has no authority over the Fed, right?
Yes, I get he can apply pressure indirectly, but that’s not the same as having the power to fire anyone at the Fed. So this sounds like the media trying to grant trump the appearance of more authority than he has, which is a bad thing.
I’m hopeful Powell will stick out his term and continue to do make the best decisions he can.

Full list of degrees not classed as ‘professional’ by Trump admin
I’m kinda wondering if that’s their primary intention even if these scumbags are probably pleased with such an outcome.
Maybe they sorted the list of degrees by repayment rate and labeled all the ones below a certain rate as ‘unprofessional’. Since women are still getting paid significantly less than men for the exact same work, they may have lower repayment rates which would show up like you’ve shown.
To be clear, either way, fuck these clowns.

Tesla sales tumble 13% as Musk backlash, competition and aging lineup turn off buyers
Really? Only 13%?
Maybe it’s a lagging indicator? Maybe sales in China picked up? Maybe the numbers have been finessed?

Countdown to Zero: In the Dark | Seven years ago, New York State enacted a law to eliminate fossil fuels as a source of electricity by 2040. The grand plan has not been going well.
"Last week, Hochul said she would work with the state Legislature to change the law. “We need more time,” she said.. "
When are the politicians going to realize there is no more time, they've already squandered it?

A few solarpunk ways of automated watering [Guide]
Wow, that Blumat dripper sounds great!
We have a veg garden with drip lines on a timer and it's always annoyed me that it just blindly waters whether or not it's needed. Plus, given the amount of wasted water, there is too much demand for my rain barrel system. This looks like it can decrease our water usage AND allow us to switch to just using rain. Fucking brilliant!
Thanks for sharing!

I really wanted Bookwyrm to be more useful for me. But it’s really not geared towards what I want in keeping track of books. ymmv

(a la thejuicemedia) Oh sweetie..
Political English is tricky.
The "we" in, "we are going to make lots of money", has absolutely no relation to the "we" in, "we have to make sacrifices".

Climate hopes dim in New York State even as Western states join on cap-and-trade | Gov. Kathy Hochul is seeking to delay New York’s climate law.
give your assemblymember and state senator a call.
Done and done.
I'm so tired of half-assed, two-faced politicians like Hocul. Global warming is going to make all of our lives much more difficult and they can't be bothered with even the least effort towards adaptation.
