Anyone aware of good (legitimate) spot to get skyrim cheaply other than waiting for a steam sale? the significant other and i would love to run the multiplayer mod and play together but $40 isn't in t

EDIT: heck i assumed steam and gog would be the same price right now!!

Original below:

or perhaps i should be asking if it's worth it to wait on the sales?

a lifetime ago, played Morrowind and oblivion for countless hours and have always wondered why i haven't gotten into Skyrim yet! apparently it's so i could share this experience with the wife!

I have had a copy of Skyrim forever now, and she is enjoying life as a khajit!

a far cry from sharing the OG xbox controller (the Duke!) with my little bro, this time around I'm interested in the Multiplayer mod so we could run through all this together.

if it was 15 or 20 bucks on steam I'd go without avacado toast and grab another copy, (/s) but it's currently at $40 and i just don't have the budget to justify that right now. (especially not knowing if the multiplayer works well and stuff.)

i didn't know if there was a secret humble bundle or similar

or like, y'all know that it'll be 12.99 on arbor day

or someone accidentally has extra copies of Skyrim special edition keys they keep tripping over on the way to the bathroom,

does the mod work well?

Thanks in advance, happy gaming!

accidental discovery with emby (kodi also? likely jellyfin)

tldr: accidentally named two devices the same thing. start a remote stream from emby/jellyfin app and it starts on both devices! now i can sell the HDMI matrix?

i fucks with emby/jellyfin. i enjoy Kodi as my front end, it works with my preferred remote, and the json library is robust.

after finding out about the Arctic Zephyr reloaded skin, i have been pimping the GUI to be the absolute perfect skin for my libraries, customizing everything to the tiniest degree, omg i am in love. I'm not quite done yet but once it is, I'd put money on it going toe to toe with any of the proprietary bullshit people suffer through to watch video content these days. (apple tv or roku versions of everyone's favorite corpo apps, even Android TV kinda sucks. )

sorry, I've gotten off track.

anyways, after the days work, i make a backup with the addon, sling it to the other Kodi box (an old chromebook out of the dumpster) and hit restore without realizing i still had the box checked to restore the entire config)

so now i unknowingly have two Kodi's reporting to emby as the same machine. no errors popped up anywhere.

started a movie in the living room with no subtitles. so i hop into the emby app on my phone to get that handled. stop the and restart the movie directly from the emby app, when i see the bedroom lights start their "movie starts after 8pm on weekdays" scene. whoa?

turn on the tv in the room and it's playing the same thing!

about 30 minutes later it ended up getting enough out of sync to notice the audio, but i had already set it up for audio from snapcast (home assistant automation that sets Kodi to output the audio 1.25 seconds ahead and routes it to RCA out for house audio) so i only noticed cause IM AN AV NERD.

i wonder if this info Is enough to get a legit plugin for this going?

sorry for the rant! hope everyone's day is chill!

hello Fediverse! how do neurodivergent peeps get jobs?

Is there a position available anywhere in the world where I can simply take an assessment to identify my skills and capabilities, receive assignments accordingly, complete them remotely, and submit them without the need for ongoing communication or visits? I prefer a role that allows for flexible, independent work hours.

I have ten years of experience as a paralegal but am seeking a different type of work that doesn't require returning to school, interaction with others, or leaving my home. I am highly capable but uncertain about my next career steps and am looking for a more autonomous work arrangement.

I am excited to start running through my backlog! Finally figured out a solid way to handle saves in retroarch!

syncthing has been killing me off and on for years it seems. not only that, but if you run into a device that can't use syncthing, (rooted LG WebOS, or hacked switch) you're out of luck!

When i saw they had the webdav cloud in retroarch, being ignorant of webdav at the time, i wrote it off!

But rclone is awesome and introduced me to a bunch of things it is capable of, beyond a little webdav server!

easily installed on debian, or a docker. (plus more i am sure!)

super cool!
