Bullshit

Reply in thread

I work in an industry where we use computers all day and this is painfully clear. I grew up with a mouse in my hand, shortcuts are hardwired into my brain. Watching someone right click them slowly move the cursor to copy, then right click and slowly move to paste, then slowly navigate to formulas then click refresh is brutal. It literally takes them 3-4x as long as it takes me to do the same task.

On the bright side, I only work about 20 hours a week and still outperform them, so thanks I guess?

I had an acquaintance ask me about my opinion on crypto a few years ago and I explained it only has the perceived value and is highly volatile as a result, and that all but a few coins were basically rug pulls waiting to happen. He was satisfied with that and moved on. About a year later crypto had roughly doubled in value and he gave me shit about bad advice (it was an opinion not investment advice) and proceeded to move $10k into some coin I'd never heard of. About a month later a mutual friend said the other guy had lost like $8k of his $10k investment. Next time I saw the acquaintance there was no mention of crypto.

Drunk Dan

Total Dan move. Hooked up with a carny, realized the head was so good because she didn't have any teeth. Dude should be doubling down and getting a second helping of funnel cake but he's running.

Warren Buffett calls Trump's tariffs a tax on goods, says 'the Tooth Fairy doesn't pay 'em'

I work in the corporate side of retail for a large company. I promise you not a single vendor is absorbing the tariffs, but a few are getting around it by just moving production for the US market to other factories they already own in Southeast Asia.

These companies were already afraid of the Chinese government absorbing them and moved "headquarters" to Singapore. This isn't hurting them, it's hurting us.

100% accurate. I ran a family owned grocery and the owners never shut up about payroll. As soon as I started managing a department it was "you're overstaffed" every flipping week. I explained my plan to use the extra hours to have the employees trained on how to make more prepared food instead of buying the premade junk. They complained and complained until the end of the second month when my numbers for prepared food in that single month grossed enough to pay for the extra staff need for over half the year.

They still complained I was overstaffed.

'Andrew Tate phenomena' surges in schools - with boys refusing to talk to female teacher

You're talking toxic masculinity, he's talking about these children being inundated with propaganda via social media. Very few middle and high school students watched Fox news in the 00's whereas now it's being algorithmically jammed down their throats.

Social media is going to cause the fall of the USA and it's so fucking sad to watch. Social media needs to be scheduled as/like a drug.

I'll never forget when I took my 4yo on a walk and as we're waiting to cross the street he saw a cyber truck pull up to the light next to us. He goes "dad look!" The guy was smiling as he heard my son and saw him point out the car. Then my son followed with "the ugly box truck!" The way the guys smile melted from his face was fucking art.
