Opinions: What is a movie you genuinely like, that is rated below 60% on rotten tomatoes?
Post-2000? I'd have to say probably Reign of Fire... or Bad Boys II. All time? The Man in the Iron Mask.

The Dark Crystal is a good scary movie for kids. The movie that got me scared as a kid was a Ernest Scared Stupid. I can't explain why, that movie scared the shit out of me. After that it was watching The Relic.
I dunno what OP's daughter was watching that wasn't 'scary enough' but going straight to The Descent was a terrible idea.

Is it just me or did Lemmy suddenly became more active now that Sync for Lemmy is released?

Connect for Lemmy was pretty good but Sync for Lemmy feels like home.

TIL that Die Hard received mixed reviews upon release. Critics didn't like Bruce Willis' performance, action and violence

I'm curious which movies you would say did it better. I'm always up for a good watch (if I haven't already seen it).

I maintain that Live Free or Die Hard is a much better movie when you watch the uncensored version. Yeah, a lot of the shit McClane goes through is not something any regular Joe would survive but the movie at least tries to make it survivable. And the uncensored version adds in a lot of the blood that should've been present with all of that bullshit in the first place.

I kind of love Starkiller's story, including the fact that his actions were so instrumental to forming the Rebel Alliance that they took his family crest as their sigil. That's badass.

Which video game did you bounce off of at first, but then tried again later for it to become one of your favorites of all time?

I wish I could get into WoW again but I don't have the time required and the game is not really built to play solo. Now I watch videos and read everything I can just to be a part of that universe.

Sync for Lemmy (beta) is now live for everyone

I don't really know how Lemmy chains work, but are you able to see comments from a user that's on a server that the server you're on isn't federated with?
Like say you are on lemmy.world and Other guy is on beehaw and those two are not federated with each other, can you see his comments? Can you interact with him at all?

I feel like not having any underwear may be outside of the norm but I don't think it's super weird. Maybe just regular weird.

Yep. The single-player campaign is available for everyone, but the people who pre-ordered got to play it a week early.
The shortness of the campaign could be a contributed to a couple factors: there were rumors that MW3 started off life as DLC for MW2; the game developer Sledgehammer Games had come out and said they were initially tasked with developing Advanced Warfare 2 (I think) but that project was cancelled and they pivoted to MW3 and got that completed in 18 months.
Either way, the campaign is a big disappointment. Multiplayer seems to be getting enjoyed by a lot of people, though. Haters gonna hate.

Not to mention that the reboot is basically being scrapped and redone because the original creative team was "released".

Why do all the new TVs expect me to have a platform AS WIDE as the fucking thing?? Fucking shit!! God awful absolutely dumb thoughtless design choice

A lot of show models in stores are wall mounted these days, saves on space (especially at places like Walmart and Target where they sell smaller sizes). That's being said, though, it doesn't take much to look under a wall-mounted TV to figure it where the foot(s) go.

Have you watched any of Star Wars Visions? I'm curious what you think about them.
On a related side note, my favorite Star Wars stories were always the ones from the Anthology 'Tales from...' books.
