Eh. In this case I think scientific standards are objectively correct.
A key figure-of-merit for quantum computing is 'fidelity', which you can basically think of as the probability that a given operation will produce the intended outcome. If you have a fidelity of 80%, you might be able to do some extremely simple calculations and run them several times to make sure they're right. But any serious multi-stage calculation quickly becomes impossible as the probability of something going wrong quickly adds up. For quantum computing to actually do anything useful, fidelity in the region of 99.9999% is basically non-negotiable, because this is what semiconductor gates in regular computers can achieve.

I love houses that trap heat! /s
get small towel/flannel
soak in water and squeeze out until damp but not dripping
drape over your shoulders close to your neck
this directly cools your carotid and jugular, tricking your brain into thinking it's colder than it is as well as cooling the rest of your body

I don't understand why anyone cares about the censorship. You all understood exactly what it was meant to say, and it helps it get seen on algorithmic sites. Why bother getting upset about it? Was it so important to see those 2 letters?

Buddhism is not especially peaceful. The Sihalese Buddhist monk caste in Sri Lanka is known for encouraging violence in service of ethnically cleansing the Tamil minority in the north. In Myanmar the Theravda Buddhist clerics largely aligned themselves with the military dictatorship. The Buddhist theocracy in Tibet violently enforced serfdom. The conception of Buddhism as a harmless and peaceful meditation-religion exists only in the west.
Any religion is, ultimately, a tool of social control.

Naturally occuring Uranium is, really, not very radioactive. You can even eat it and have it pass through your digestive system without any significant negative impact - there was a scientist who (slightly facetiously) used to do this in lectures to prove the safety of nuclear power and lived to a ripe old age. That said, it's not exactly advisable.
We use it in power plants because it's fissile, not because it's radioactive, it's easier to sustain chain reactions with constant output.
Spent nuclear fuel, however, is extremely radioactive because when we fission Uranium it splits into very radioactive isotopes of Caesium, Iodine, Xenon etc. plus a ton of minor actinides.

Yup - most likely a small chunk of ore. The glass vial itself would block the vast majority of alpha emission so it's very unlikely in this case that it had anything to do with the cancer I'd say

It is morally correct to graffiti this ad
Hi this is a relatively new form of 'ragebait' ad which is designed to be shared on social media by people who hate it.
The vast majority of people think it's disgusting, but it gets shared around enough that the CO's which they're actually marketing to will see it and be tempted.
Please don't give it the attention it wants.
