What's your favourite "just works, day after day" Linux software?
Debian and basically everything in its repos. Might be somewhat old, but it is really fucking stable

Isn't brave supposed to be "private"?
From Wiki:
Brave Software was founded in 2015 by Brendan Eich, creator of JavaScript and former Mozilla CEO who left the organization after coming under fire for his support of eliminating the right of same-sex couples to marry [...]
and
In August 2016, the company had received at least US$7 million in angel investments from venture capital firms, including Peter Thiel's Founders Fund [...]
Should tell you everything you need to know.
I'd say being 'privacy focused' is just a stick to get non-tech savy/gullible people that want to protect their privacy to use it, without thinking about it twice. Personally, I believe there is 0% chance they don't sell (or simply give) all data they can to Peter Thiel and Palantir.

Nexus Gamers are going to test gpus on Linux (Bazzite)
Reply in thread
This literally doubles (if not more) the workload to run these benchmarks, not to mention having to write new automation procedures and Steve just not being familiar with Linux at all, all for 2-3% (tops) of his audience.
Be glad that he is doing them in the future and don't be a demanding, entitled prick.

Passenger trains in the United States vs Europe
Reply in thread
honestly I wouldn't mind it taking 12 hours, but it also being more expensive just doesn't make any sense at all. Europe needs to stop subsidizing air travel and needs to up its rail subsidies

googling for 3 seconds I found that Jamieson Tumeric Gummies only have 250mg Tumeric per Gummy, which is apparently equivalent to 6250mg of dried Tumeric. That is basically the recommended maximum daily dosage.
In general, no you can't trust 'basic' supplements, since they are poorly regulated. I'd also recommend getting supplements only for things that you actually need supplemented, i.e. a blood test shows you are deficient.

Google Trends comparison between Steam Deck and other PC handhelds
Reply in thread
They would, if you looked at them individually. It's a percentage based on peak of any of the searched terms. This means at its peak only 25% as many people were googling the ROG vs the Deck at its (separate) peak.

[SOLVED] Proton/Help: Forza Horizon 6 stopped working all of a sudden
This post in the Steam Community Forums helped me solve the issue:
You want to manually delete the Steam Linux Runtimes and then reinstall them (probably only the latest, but I deleted all 4 of them)
Enable show Tools in your Steam Library
Search for runtime
There were 4 of them installed 1.0 to 4.0
Find the App IDs for each: right click -> properties -> updates tells you the App ID
where ever you have your Steam games installed: for me this was ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/
delete the corresponding appmanifest_{App-ID}.acf files
in /steamapps/common/ delete the 4 SteamLinuxRuntime folders
restart steam and redownload the 4 runtimes by searching for them in your library
This fixed the issue for me

The stats are from StatCounter which has this in their FAQ:
What methodology is used to calculate Statcounter Global Stats? Statcounter is a web analytics service. Our tracking code is installed on more than 1.5 million sites globally. These sites cover various activities and geographic locations. Every month, we record billions of page views to these sites. For each page view, we analyse the browser/operating system/screen resolution used and we establish if the page view is from a mobile device.
So it's the percentage if web traffic (to sites that use this analytics service)
