How Finland Destroyed Itself For NATO

Reply in thread

The entire post is propaganda. It's enough to analyse the language used to see that. The author tries to show Finland's conscious decision to, like most European countries, increase spending on defence, as "bad NATO is forcing them to cut children's health care"

EU browser choice rules send millions more users Firefox's way

Reply in thread

It's laziness. Most people just take the path of the least resistance.

Once you show them the screen, any choice is the same amount of work so they will select what they really want. But without the screen, 90% of people will be good enough with the default option. Or, they might even be mildly uncomfortable with that option, but not enough to do something about it.

YSK some cities in the US are starting to build an affordable community built wifi network that goes around big telecom companies

I am old enough and geek enough to be bothered by the use of the word "WiFi" instead of the Internet or just network.

It's only WiFi if you connect the wireless router at the end.

Edit: just noticed mention of the "antenna at the roof" on the page, but I still don't think it's WiFi, "WiFi" is a name of the technology that allows wireless access by multiple devices. I think it's rather radio communication between the router and the access point. They basically use radio waves instead of the cable, it was often used in rural areas in my country, where putting cables would be too expensive.

Video of visually impaired Palestinian boy crying over broken glasses draws global attention

This war is so fucking stupid and evil... Of course the media making the show out of one kid crying to the camera is a propaganda piece. But the reality is that all the kids that were already killed during that war can't be filmed crying, so the reality is even more bleak than the propaganda piece... Also out of all current conflicts, this war has the highest number of killed journalists by far, so even if someone had anything more representative, there is a huge chance he or she is already dead.

How fucking evil someone must be to make entire world* cheer for the side represented by the terrorists?

(* Entire world? No! One small city of Washington DC and a few hundred billionaires are cheering the "righteous" side, and are sending all the weapons that were too expensive to waste them by helping Ukraine defend itself)... end of the rant
