I find these threats sadly funny. Like the US is too stupid to think that the other side has to ask "We'll have to draw a line somewhere. Will it be better for us to do it now, or later when we are further integrated and more dependant?

Stupid American exceptionalism at work. They still believe they are the best of the world, even though they are a shit hole.

I stopped believing we were anything but an empire 20 years ago when I took a look at the military bases we had around the world.

Yup. Ducks. Those fuckers. 🤪

Ha!

Side note: did you know that they're named after the verb, not the other way 'round? Yep. For the way they feed. 🤓

That is a top fact.

It seems so obvious now you mention it, but somehow I've managed well into adulthood without ever hearing this once.

Hey we're damn good at making feces. Not quite as good as Indonesia, but ours has a flavor that can't be beat

Puzder said that if the goal “is to make United States less competitive, I think that that’s not a legitimate goal of this kind of legislation.” “You don’t make European companies more competitive by making US companies less competitive,” he added.

This coming from a representative of Mr. Tariff-of-the-Week himself is fucking hilarious.

Let's go even further. Tariff Tesla cars and spare parts!

Sounds like someone would cut access to the internet. 🤭

Europeans would go back to watching TVs, reading books and more paper work. Longer term, Europe might win with learning through overcoming the obstacles.

Also, the internet already becomes less welcoming with surveillance and media addictions. It's hollow the more time we spend in it.

You cannot cut access to the internet to the entire continent. It's decentralised. You could cut access to AWS, Google cloud and Azure and several other US services. That would: 1. Immensely cripple all websites and services using it but would also cost those corporations a lot of income, would destroy their position on the market, European and Asian alternatives exist. It would be difficult but European and mostly Chinese providers would benefit in the long term.

They can also cut access to Facebook, Xitter and Instagram. Please do that.

True, alternatives exist and we work towards more independence. It takes time.

I like your idea of the daily life without these major social medias.

Most AWS, Google cloud, Azure, etc. servers that serve the EU are physically located in the EU. Unless those companies decide to brick those servers, the servers could be nationalized, and any websites and services with EU-based owners could be reinstated.

2

Cutting those lynchpins would be stupid, agreed, and no matter how asinine this "gov't" has been for years, it's far more likely that they'll do that and allow paid access for companies, etc., no doubt.

Americans have already ruined the internet, now it’s all bots, and monetization. The search engines are terrible now, all the social media platforms are terrible, they could cut it tomorrow and yes the world would increase intelligence ten fold over the Americans overnight.

You want to see just how ignorant they are? Watch “The good Liars” funny and heart breaking to see just how stupid Americans can be.

Yeah, it feels like everything has a price tag. The user pays with money or private data or both. What once seemed exciting and uniting (social medias, for example), now becomes a currated cash grab mess. This period is interesting as well. It's like we enter the period of hangover when it comes to the digital life with privacy and open source movements getting more recognition.

Hey, product. Hey hey hey, product. Oh wait.. we're both products in the vast network void. 🤭

Does this sound exactly like the threats of a certain other impotent PoS...? The Orange Plague trying his darndest to be like his Daddy.

Historians in the future: Everyone was kung fu fighting / flexin' their fu one for the other. For what exactly? We still haven't figured out. But they were all pissed one at the other during that period in history fo sho. 🤭
