Bernie Sanders blames election loss on Kamala Harris choosing billionaires over the working class
Harris just disappeared, has zero interest in actually being a leader, has zero interest in spearheading a democratic movement, is doing jack shit to help make this transition easier through good will projects, she literally doing nothing, yet I’ve started getting please gib money texts with her name on them again… maybe if she hadn’t pulled a vanishing act we could at least talk but like, wtf is she even doing that she needs my money? I don’t even live in her state.

Two words, voter disenfranchisement
They remove the right to vote from our poor, our people of color, our citizens who have made mistakes but paid their debts to society, they remove polling places, making people wait hours and hours standing in lines to vote, giving them water is illegal, they purge voter roles right before elections…. And so so many more things. So many Americans don’t vote because they can’t because our right wing government has put so many roadblocks in the way.

Yeah reading this as a woman is low key terrifying like… if you hate me why tf do you want to fuck me? The idea a person could be so wildly two faced because they’re desperately trying to interact with me in my most vulnerable state is so scary, things like this is why women choose the bear
This reads like one step away from a DV situation

TIL: UnitedHealthcare Caught Paying Off Nursing Homes to Let Seniors Die Because Hospital Transfers were “Too Expensive”
And this is why you don’t get universal healthcare. The fact is capitalism thinks you’re too expensive to keep alive. If you’re not putting in more than you’re taking out, at all times, you’re a loss. You are not worth anything except your productivity and what you can provide to your overlords. Put in a lifetime of hard work, have the audacity to live in a human body that ages and slows down, well sucks to suck, healthcare is only to be paid into not to be given to those in need.

Scientists have been studying remote work for four years and have reached a very clear conclusion: "Working from home makes us happier."
WFH enabled so many Americans who are disabled to actually hold a job, a job they wanted, and this is a direct attack on disabled employees and disabled people. WFH is inherently more accessible so you end up with more disabled employees, which cost your work sponsored health insurance to go up, which they do not want, so they erect this barrier of being in the office to prevent people who need to work from home from being employed there. Disallowing WFH is explicitly to get around the ADA
RTO is ableism

I went to an “eye institute” at a local hospital cause I had a non traumatic brain injury that gave me (temporary!) blind spots and it was in the same office as a memory clinic, I guess those two go together and there was a sign at the desk, for the memory clinic, about how you needed to remember to have brought something with you, which I thought was funny, a memory clinic requiring you remembered something in order to see you

Bad film with amazing premise and mediocre execution that you can't stop thinking about?
Dark City (1998) could definitely fit the bill, it has so many unique ideas for that time in film and you can see there’s of all sorts of future sci-fi movies in it from the matrix to inception, it’s a very visually ugly movie and the acting is subpar but as a premise it’s super interesting. Generally I think remakes are a waste of time and money but I’d love to see this movie with a proper budget and modern technology

Maybe Trump's Presidency Will Make Everything So Awful It Will Facilitate Actual Positive Change Nationwide
I have cystic fibrosis, it’s a genetic disease and my lungs are (were, I got a new set) especially impacted, I thought COVID could possibly change the world for the better for people like me, improved access via remote work or telehealth etc. that people would be more reasonable and understanding to those with lung disease, that the medical sector would start looking more heavily into lung health, lung rehabilitation, the issues around lung disease and immune-disregulation etc. but really very little has happened and there’s been no significant permanent changes and people chose to keep denying illness and disability exist… I think the virus of the trump presidency running through the US will have the same negative effect where a lot of people die and not much else happens

When you’re a woman getting the shit beat out of you by a man who could easily kill you (this is the case for the majority of men to the majority of women) and its call the cops or be seriously fucked up or killed it’s a pretty easy choice to make. Domestic violence is often one sided or at least one sided in who is able to defend themselves, it’s not a fight when one side is wildly out matched
