Fetterman calls rush to blame Israel for hospital blast ‘disturbing’

Reply in thread

I was fully ready to believe Israel was responsible for it because it fits their MO, but the evidence is compelling that it was indeed a misfired rocket. The small crater we’ve seen in photos combined with the large fireball on video is consistent with a small warhead and a hefty charge of leftover propellant. Yes, the probability of such an accident occurring is low, but not zero.

Big fucking yikes, they just said that out loud?

I’m in kinda the same boat, early 30s white guy, shitty job (truck driver), single, and so depressed and anxious that I’m currently on short term disability because of it.

I feel like the big problem with the discourse around white privilege is that most people misunderstand what it actually means. It doesn’t mean that everything is handed to you purely because of skin colour, and it doesn’t mean that things can’t be difficult. It just means that we get an unspoken, and often unconscious advantage over our racialized peers in our white-dominated society.

Ontario purchases $28.9M private jet for Doug Ford’s ‘extensive travel’

A valid argument can be made for having an executive transport plane in the provincial fleet. There is no valid argument for buying one of the most expensive business jets on the market for this purpose. If it’s supposed to be primarily for travel around the province then it makes even less sense.

They’d be better served by something like a King Air 350, which is simpler and easier to service, can land on the gravel runways that are so common in northern Ontario, and is cheaper in every metric.

This jet they’ve bought is 28.9M, I found a 2019 King Air 350i for 9.1M, and another from 2014 for 8M. (All Canadian dollars)

But big expensive private jet make Dougie’s dick hard, I guess.
