11th Odesa International Literature Festival brings the city’s literary voices to Chișinău

The international Odessa delegation and programme were organised through cooperation between several of the city’s cultural organisations. Ulrich Schreiber supported the delegation’s journey to Chișinău, while Ukrainian Cosmopolis supported the participation of Vladyslava Ilinska, Taya Naydenko and Olena Ilyasova. Mykhailo Kutsak participated through a partnership between the Odesa UNESCO City of Literature Office and Vechirnia Odesa.

For Schreiber, the travelling editions of the festival remain connected to a clear ambition: that the Odesa International Literature Festival will eventually return to the city where it began.

Until then, the festival continues to function as a travelling meeting point for Odessa’s literary community and its international partners. In Chișinău, conversations about war, humour, displacement, memory and coming of age were accompanied by something equally important — new translations, residencies, collaborations and relationships that can continue long after the festival itself has moved on.

Ukraine's Offensive Isn't Stopping Anytime Soon | Preston Stewart - Youtube (Invidious link)

Ukraine is setting the conditions for phase four of their counteroffensive in the east, operation Vivaldi. Put simply, there’s more good news to come. Russia’s challenges in that direction aren’t improving and there’s a fair argument they’re getting worse. It’s becoming clear that they cannot keep front line elements supplied and the chain of commanded needed to fixt that is just broken.

That’s really positive for Ukraine but we can’t lose sight of the larger picture which isn’t great.

Russian deep strikes have intensified and become more complex as it looks like Russia hopes to shut off power, heat and water to Ukraine’s largest cities this winter. That’s a humanitarian disaster looming in the very near future.

More good coverage on Ukraine's performance on the frontlines and how russia is failing at a fundamental level now to stop Ukrainian forces from unravelling russian frontlines.

Elite Colombian fighters trap Russian garrison in lethal forest siege near Dvorichna | Battle Plans - The Sun (Youtube/Invidious link)

Ukrainian forces are deploying specialised international units to execute high-stakes tactical counterattacks, relying on elite Colombian infantry to flush out Russian positions east of Kharkiv.

In this episode of Battle Plans Exposed, former military intelligence planner Philip Ingram breaks down how fighters from the 23rd Assault Regiment used dense forest cover to sever Russian supply lines and trap enemy forces against the river.

Bringing years of counterinsurgency experience from South America, these light infantry units excel at close-quarters forest combat, clearing dugouts fast before pairing with precision drone strikes to systematically erase the Russian salient.

Plus, we examine why grouping experienced fighters from the same country eliminates frontline language barriers and supercharges battlefield command and control.

As terrifying as this coming winter is for Ukraine, the military victory here for Ukraine is just as stunning.

Russia can deny life with bombs from the sky, but that can never capture Ukraine nor control it, and they are now locked in tactical combat across a massive frontline with an opponent that is stronger and more agile than them and that doesn't hemorrhage strength with every punch they throw as russia does. There is no pause button here for russia to tap out, regroup and catch their breath, they are locked in a losing grappling fight on the ground.

Australia Supercharges Poland's Drone Defense | Wes O'Donnell - Youtube (Invidious link)

Australia just powered-up Poland’s air defenses! Crikey!

Poland just signed an $18.5 million deal with Australian company Advanced Navigation to put fiber-optic gyroscopes into the counter-drone systems guarding its border with Russia. These Boreas navigation units measure the Earth's own rotation to find true north without GPS — which matters because Russia has been jamming and spoofing satellite signals over Poland since the September 2025 drone incursion. I break down the physics behind it and how it fits into Poland's $1.5+ billion SAN counter-drone program.

Russian Mechanized Assault Near Huliaipole, Four Turtle Tanks Destroyed | Suchomimus - Youtube (Invidious link)

In the Huliaipole region, Ukraine defeats a Russian mechanized assault destroying at least four Turtle Tanks in the process.

You have to find it hilarious that russia is still trying to sell weapons to other countries while fumbling around with tanks like clueless babies under a spotlight in front of the whole world. The violence may continue for a long time yet, but russia's landwar offensive is at a general level dead.

It looks like more concentrated russian armored assaults will occur in the near future in the Huliapole region, some may even have functioning arena-m counter drone systems. These will only lead to spectacular failures for russia that cement the international perception the russian military is too broken at its core to carry on a land war.

Pokrovsk will forever be known as the place Ukraine broke the back of russia's armor capability and expertise.
