France passes bill to allow police remotely activate phone camera, microphone, spy on people
This is scary because it could be exploited very easily by bad actors and is a huge invasion of privacy

Do you use a credit card? Why or why not?
I live in the US. I use a credit card for all my purchases because not only does it shift liability from my money to the bank's money, it also pays me a % in the form of cash back and I pay it off in full every month to avoid any interest charges. It's extremely important that my credit card balance is never higher than my checking and savings combined to ensure I really can pay it off in full.

If you look at overall worldwide poverty and starvation numbers, coupled with medical advancements and indoor plumbing, now is a pretty good time to be a human. Yes, there are lots of problems, but the standard of living (for the average person) has gotten so much better in the last 200 years

A comic from Lunarbaboon
I get the joke. However, I just want to point out that in the later series, red signified command and someone important. When I wear my Commandar Riker costume, I don't appreciate the comments about the red shirt and being expendable.

TIL the Monkees had an FBI File
I think it's safe to say they had a file on anyone who was even moderately famous.

Yeah, I immediately thought of Ben Shapiro and thought that it doesn't sound like something he would approve of.

What's the worst thing you've accidentally sent someone?
When I was 13, I accidentally forwarded an email with a list of pretty obscene jokes to my prim and proper grandmother, who is blind. Apparently, her caretaker read them to her and she was shocked, but still got a laugh out of it. My mom was not as jovial about it.
