Soundtrack of my childhood

I was tested by someone who came to my school when I was about eight years old because my parents were concerned. They diagnosed me as being lazy.

30+ years later and my kid is going through the same thing. The workers at the nursery are decent though, and suspect neurodiversity. A couple of appointments later and my kid gets an autism and ADHD diagnosis. My wife and I speak to them because my symptoms are so similar, and they said that from the conversations we had about my kid, they assumed that I had already been diagnosed.

I'm now 45 and still on a waiting list for an official diagnosis 😫

I appreciate what Len's going for, but showing a Cybertruck with a load that would fit in a normal car, and 'owning' it by showing a bike carrying what appears to be half as much, is only going to give ammo to the dipshits with their massively oversized trucks.

'Hey, bro! My Ford SuperMacho DonkeyDong Pavement Princess edition would fit the load from the Cybertruck and the load from the cargo bike. I could throw the bike on top too!'

Reframing it as 'the Cybertruck's so shitty that half the load will fit on a bike with no issues, and you don't have to be seen driving a Cybertruck' would probably work better 👍

I've found with this type of text that if I try to read it normally, I struggle to process the change between the start and end of each word, and read much more slowly. If I try to read quickly though, it flows, as if I'm skimming the words but still understanding them properly.

It's a very strange feeling :)

Comparing my current phone and previous.

The Realme photo looks fake. You just don't get that much light at night from a 30 second shot without a lot of post processing. You'd probably get blurry stars too, depending on your location.

It's great if you want to take photos of your friends at night, but if you're trying to get genuine photos of the stars, I wouldn't trust it.

Linux for my grandparents

Mint, it just works.

You can set up automatic updates too, so they won't end up with out of date software and possible security holes. The only downside is Firefox. If an update runs while your grandparents are using Firefox, it will stop working and show them a page that says it needs to be restarted.

It's not a major issue in itself, but if you have any sort of memory issues, like I do and lots of older people do, it can derail your train of thought and cause you problems.

Yesterday my girlfriend sent me a message to tell me that she thinks we have to stop our relationship. Several reasons where said, but after 2 days of thinking I understand that yes, our relation was

I'm full of hope because I'm pretty sure I know what's the problem, and I have the solutions for it.

It's great to have hope, but you need to prepare yourself for disappointment too. You need to understand that she might not be feeling the same way as you, and might not want to continue the relationship.

I don't mean to sound like a pessimist, but I've been in your position, and I've seen friends who have, and getting caught by surprise hurts even more.

I hope things work out for you. Good luck :)

EDIT: I got it wrong sorry. There was a post on Reddit with similar looking rolls from Bristol.

The photo was posted to Reddit at least a year ago, and was apparently from an English pub that wanted to sell 'real' pub snacks again. The roll cost something like £1.50, where most snacks like this go for around £5 or more.

There was a big discussion on the landlord's chopping skills, but he claimed that it was really popular 👍

On a side note, I'd really enjoy that roll, as long as it's got a bit of butter so it's not too dry 🙂

If you're getting pain, especially a lot of pain, you should probably speak to a doctor. You shouldn't be feeling pain just from stopping the flow, it's just clenching a muscle.

There's an extension for Firefox and maybe Chrome that should help. I think it's called ClearURL, or something similar. It removes the trackers from the ends of URLs

EDIT: That's assuming that it's a legitimate tracking URL, and not something that's been added by malware.

A symbol for the fediverse ⁂

Am I misunderstanding this - you want to replace a recognised symbol with a symbol that's already being used by another group? That seems counterproductive at best.

I'm also wondering, have you spoken to anyone with poor eyesight? This is my reply to a comment below suggesting that the new symbol would be easier to read:

I'm reading this thread on mobile, and the fediverse logo next to the community name is much easier to see than the three stars. If I didn't already know what the three stars were from the rest of the post, I wouldn't have a clue what they were supposed to be in the body. They look like a blurry capital A. Obviously the fediverse logo is bigger there, which helps, but it's not significantly bigger, and would still be clearer at a smaller size
