The fact that you can’t run through Windows setup w/o internet and an online account is absolute bullshit
I mean you don't even have to install, just boot the iso and click try now

These wonderful people are behind LibreOffice, offering a free alternative to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Remarkably, most of them contribute on a completely unpaid volunteer basis

My only bad experience with this software is users moaning that it's not excel and word. And users using word/writer as a layout tool, without using the layout tools in that software: tab tab tab space space space space align left: why does nothing line up 😔

How do you learn new things? (How do you pick what to learn? How do you start? How do you stay motivated?)
I'll come at this from another direction, Whats your highest level of education you have through schools/colleges etc? and what subjects was it in? Someone with a background in arts is going to have a completely different mindset say a science or practical subject

That's what I took from it as well 0.2 is 1 in 500, ok its quite a lot, but 6% is just over 1 in 16 people.

10-year-old walked less than a mile to a dollar store, prompting a passerby to call police, who arrested his mom for reckless conduct.
“I stopped to ask him if he was okay and he needed help, and he lied, and said that his mother works here at the post office,” the caller said. “And then he just took off away from me.”
Which is exactly that id want my kids to do, if some random person pulled up next to them in a vehicle. When in doubt get the fuck out of there

We Just Got More Evidence That Long COVID Is a Brain Injury

Normal hospital-type MRI scanners can't see inside the brain with the kind of chemical and physical detail we need. But with 7T (7 Tesla) scanners, we can now measure these details
Not the best article, but I think what they are trying to say over multiple paragraphs is that new higher resolution MRI machines can see the damage that normal lower resolution MRI can't see

Guy made a blasphemous remark, and a religious mob went to lynch him. Police arrested him for safety, but actually they executed him instead.
This sounds like a religion problem more than a police problem

USA comparison
It's not strictly true collage or university as it's know in the rest of the world, in the UK it's only Scotland that gets free tuition, not the rest of us, higher education which is 16-18 is free

Greenland is testing Europe's willingness to stand up to Trump. It's failing | Nathalie Tocci
Crippling tarrifs you say, a quick Google says Greenland export $36M to the US in 2022, which is basically nothing. And don't forget the people who pay the tarrifs are the American people not the country the tarrifs apply to. Just because someone says I want to buy that, it doesn't mean it's for sale. The only way the US will get Greenland is by invasion and occupation. So the EU response of ignoring the giant toddler is probably the correct move.
