Projects are shutting down due to Microslop's Github CoPilot making AI contributions easy and plentiful

LLMs have made it so that it takes longer to determine whether content is bad than it takes to make bad content. The solution SHOULD be to demand that people examine the content themselves and turn it into high-quality content, but that's not going to happen so long as it is possible for anyone to submit pull requests. The only solution that will actually work is to restrict who is allowed to submit content to your projects.

SNAP benefits don't pay for rotisserie chicken. A bipartisan bill might change that

Because just giving them money, no strings attached, is proven to be more effective AND more efficient in both money and manpower. Every single time it's studied.

The argument 'But what if someone abuses it?' always falls flat when countered by 'What if people are unjustly denied support they need because of the restrictions?' Because the first will always happen, no matter what, and the second only happens if you deny support. One person 'unfairly' wasting money on meth would be a more than fair price to pay for one more person getting what they need to survive, and if you believe otherwise... I don't know what to tell you. Maybe go grow some human empathy.

Besides, tax money is wasted WAY more by the rich than by the poor.

Health Secretary Kennedy, Trump link circumcision to autism through Tylenol

I'm uncircumcised and I was never diagnosed with autism!

Never mind that I would throw a fit as a child if my pancakes weren't cut into a grid AND THEN reassembled into their circular shape.

My mom (who doesn't like to go to restaurants because being waited on stresses her out) was also never diagnosed with autism!

Because diagnoses equal incidence rate, right?

I wonder what other correlations might go with circumcision...

I relate

It's a charm against boredom.

If you don't bring the book, you'll be sitting around bored wishing you'd brought it with you.

If you do bring it, you'll never have time to read it.

Currently my Steam Deck is fulfilling that purpose.

Imagination vs reality rule

A bunch of companies have laid off employees either 1) because they are pivoting to AI and are shedding other costs (see: Microsoft) or 2) in anticipation that AI will let a smaller workforce get the same amount of work done (see: the gaming industry). AI hasn't actually done a good job of replacing those workers, but it definitely has had an impact in certain industries.
