Now the question is, how does he have supporters? I think the general answer is for decades if not generations, the Republicans have been systematically destroying public education, presumably because it's much easier to trick an ignorant electorate into voting against their own interests than it is to trick a well educated electorate. They have been preparing for this for a long time... To really protect our democracy, we must invest in our population - and specifically in education. We need smart, critical thinkers to take this country forward.
