TIL Battleship was feminist

Battleship's protagonist is a piece of shit, but the film had lowkey great points. Having real veterans and amputees as actors. And I loved how the alines are just sorta people. The scientist aliens even help out some of the people we're following. Like, "it's okay don't afraid. Wow this must be real culture shock to you"

NOT THE BEES

It was already sorta mentioned once, but worth doing again.

This isn't a colony. These aren't honey bees or bumblebees, these bees are wild and native and live fairly independently of each other.

User destroys local habitat so they can walk barefoot beside "their" lake

It is aesthetics vs ecology.

An "overgrown shoreline" protects the water body like lakes and ponds from too much nutrients running into it. As well as helps protect against soil erosion.

I can see that they mainly just cleared out the area, and didn't simply build the shoreline there. But I would disagree with decision that was made here.

And if it really is peatland, then a lot of damage has already been done to the local ecosystem.

What movie trailer was better than the actual movie?

I would argue that Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019 film) was not as good as the trailer lead me to beleve. Specifically the trailer with Clair de Lune by Debussy. Like they hit some of the beats I was looking forward to, but the I disagree with the execution. Ultimately, I felt the movie rang a tad hollow.

Lots of style, good ideas, lack of meaningful substance.
