Bill Clinton allegedly contributed to Epstein birthday book, letter among other documents

Frankly I love this, because now we get to watch the conservatives squirm.

Is Bill Clinton a pedo for associating with Epstein? Or are they going to walk back all of their statements and say Clinton did nothing wrong writing a sex trafficker a birthday card?

All the Democrats I know are fine with locking him up if evidence against him surfaces, but boy howdy is it gonna do a number on the conservatives in my life.

Do you think using GrapheneOS is useless if you plan on installing proprietary apps anyway?

Saw this question posted elsewhere, so I'm paraphrasing somebody else, but the privacy benefits of Graphene OS are ESPECIALLY impactful if you're using invasive apps. The whole point of setting up all of the extra sandboxing, storage limits, network restrictions, yadda yadda yadda, is specifically for people who might need or want to still leverage some apps from bigger, less trusted providers.

I'll flip the question, if you're only using trusted, vetted, open source applications, do you even need GrapheneOS? Why not LineageOS, which also comes free of gapps?

And this also fully neglects the inherent distinction between privacy and security. Maybe you trust google knowing you called your mom last night, but you don't want your oppressive conservative government accessing your phone to view your Signal messages to your Grinder date. There's more to privacy than just the number of times your phone pings Google Telemetry servers.

Helldivers 2 now has the most negative reviews among all paid games

Reply in thread

Honestly I'm more annoyed by the rootkit "anti-cheat" the game uses, than this Sony action. It's easy enough to make a burner email account for Sony, and for better or worse, I'm not in one of the countries impacted.

They DEFINITELY need to refund all players that are from newly blocked countries - anything short of a full refund is unacceptable, but it's not like people have cared that PSN is unavailable in Nigeria before this point.

All that said, I love seeing the community putting Sony's feet on the fire for implementing even mildly anti-consumer BS. I just wish the outrage was more consistent

First U.S. nuclear reactor built from scratch in decades enters commercial operation in Georgia

Reply in thread

The good news - it's online, generating clean power, and hopefully demonstrating the safety and benefits of modern nuclear plants.

The bad news - it's $17B over budget (+120%) and 7 years behind schedule (+100%). Those kind of overages aren't super promising for investors, but perhaps there are enough lessons learned on this one that will help the next one sail a little smoother.

Either way, good to see it can still be done in the US.
