What is your favourite gaming console you have played?

The original Xbox was my absolute favorite. Still old enough to have the classic memory cards and weird console ports, but new enough that its all actually just reskinned pc hardware. The UI was simple but easy and had this fantastic early 2k style. I didn't even care that it was disgustingly green.

On top of all that, it was an era where basically everything could get greenlit. Shrek sequel game? Do it. Bounty hunter in a batshit crazy world using bigs as bullets? Knock yourself out. Love letter to golden eye, even if we can't get the rights? You bet! What if I wanna watch softcore porn with the bros but justify it by saying we're gaming? That's fucking weird, but have at it. Literally anything could get a game.

Damn right

This is one of those quotes that is constantly taken out if context by entitled dicks.

Sam Walton, founder of Walmart coined the phrase and it was actually an insightful stance on consumer trending. What it actually means is that it doesn't matter how you feel or what your data shows about a product, if customers don't buy it you can't do shit about it. In practice, tofu is a healthier, more sustainable, less expensive, more versatile option than traditional meat, but if my butcher shop moves to tofu because I wholly believe it's far better fit everyone, I'll go out of business regardless. The customer wants steak and even if the customer is making a choice I don't agree with, the customer will always win that argument by simply shipping elsewhere.

We are currently witnessing the rise of a new 'Digital Amish' i.e people who refuse to interact with any form of technology made after 2021.

Recently I've taken to modding consoles. Turns out a 360 can play every game made for the entire original Xbox line as well as its own and that's not mentioning emulating older things like the n64 and it's predecessors. Between that and a modded ps4, you'll never run out of games to play.

After that, it's 3d printing every board game.

xkcd #3262: Sports Commentary

This kind of data recognition is wasted on sports. I'd kill to have a commentary recognizing a player's top deck:whiff ratio during a mid game dig in commander. I don't care about optimized turns to win, I wanna see storm/cascade failure rate and scoop on sight %.

Indeed

Jokes aside, I watched a documentary yesterday about a study where they used sensors and electrodes on the motor cortex of a subject. They found it took 55microseconds between when he thought about moving his finger and when of actually moved.

They then interrupted his attempt to move his finger by using the electrode to move the finger instead. They then did series where he was told to move his finger and the computer either would or wouldn't randomly stimulate the movement first and he had to report whether he felt like it wad him or the computer doing it.

Subjects disproportionately attributed the motion to the computer even in events where the computer didn't cause any movement. Suggesting that the subjects had a dramatic reduction in feelings of agency when even the suggestion of outside control was present.

I'd suggest ditching them fast just to maximize your ability to continue. If you've got a good handle on getting them stealthily, I would put that towards placing them visibly in the garbage or on the property of people or organizations that support this regime.

The solar panels should be easy enough to wire up and mpunt for personal use, just destroy any branding and make a plausible scenario for where you got them.

It depends on the specs of the batteries. If you can repurpose them to make rechargable power banks, battery packs, or maybe even power a decent rc. Alternatively, a cardboard drone isn't a hard build. Or if you're really after that super villain vibe, liions tend to burst and catch fire when punctured. An egg timer, a mouse trap, some nails and some hot glue and you'll have yourself a time delayed fire starter. I'm sure there's plenty of useful things that can be done with that.
