The Dems, should they win, would not take control of congress till Jan 2027. The GOP would probably force the vote before the end of the session, while GOP is still majority, and then howl 'Witch Hunt' if the Dems try to bring it back again.
This, of course presumes the Dems don't completely fuck this up, which historically, is what they seem best at.

I was on a 2.5 hour flight recently, and a guy a couple of rows up was watching Fox News. It just jumped from: Trans, Immigrants, Socialism, over and over and over the entire flight. It made me realize how fitting the term 'News Story' really is!
