USA: Slate's New Electric Truck Will Cost Slightly More Than $24,950

Reply in thread

It’s not an entirely analog experience, though; a Slate smartphone app can manage settings, change drive mode, and provide range and charging info. But only when connected locally to the car—there’s no embedded modem, so forget about remote access. And the company says that while it may use data from the app to improve its products, it won’t sell that data.

"We pinky swear that we will not sell any of the massive trove of data we're collecting on you and your driving, especially not to insurance companies."

ICE Wants Power to Detain [lawful permanent residents] for Months or Years Without Bond Hearings

Here is what they aren't saying: If some people can be deprived of due process, there is no due process for anyone. The DUe PRocess clause prevents states from depriving "any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law." "Due process" simply means a fair hearing with fair procedures to challenge the claims against you. It is a foundational bulwark against tyranny, and has it's origins in the Magna Carta. If the government can snatch you up and detain you without a hearing, you no longer have due process.

How do you find friends without kids ?

All of the dance classes I take include some amount of social dancing after, so that you can practice what you've learned. Everyone is very friendly and will dance with you, as they're all there to learn. For popular dances, there will be bars and nightclubs with music and dancing. With swing, I can easily go to events 5-7 nights per week, many of them free. I've found the community friendly and helpful, and we coordinate which events we're going to via a whatsapp thread.

Trump Just Released His Plan to Revoke Birthright Citizenship. It’s Worse Than Imagined.

In dry bureaucratic language, the memo outlines a plan to revoke citizenship from the children of both immigrants who lack permanent legal status and many lawful residents, including visa holders, Dreamers, and asylum-seekers. It envisions intrusive federal review of parents’ papers—quite possibly in the hospital, before or shortly after birth—to gauge the newborn’s legal status. And it paves the way for people who spend their entire lives in the United States to be deported to countries in which they’ve never stepped foot, or to be condemned to the limbo of statelessness.

I wonder how Marco Rubio feels about this. Neither of his parents were U.S. citizens at the time of his birth in the U.S.. Perhaps he'll be deported to Cuba?

President Trump moves Space Command from Colorado Springs to Alabama, citing state’s mail-in voting as a reason

This is exactly how corrupt dictators rule. They don't give a shit about what is best for the country. Instead, they punish their "enemies" (anyone who has an issue with their corruption) and the dip into government resources to bestow favors on those friendly to them. In this case, Trump is punishing "liberal" Colorado and providing favor to friendly Alabama. What is best for the country and/or the cost of moving the command to Alabama is irrelevant.

It was very "alpha" of them to get their asses kicked. I find it particularly interesting that Paul had his jaw bone shattered in this fight, but "won" against Mike Tyson. Something tells me that the Tyson fight was almost certainly rigged.
