So the lawyer says that Nintendo, despite knowing that the emulators themselves are legal, has unlawfully caused take downs and reputational damage. Sounds kind of illegal

A large state corporation in Brazil is currently trialing 800 Linux PCs. If successful, it will deploy and replace 22k Windows installs, comparable to the migration happening in Germany.

There was criticism at the time, but the people who had to work with it every day. welcomed it after a very short time. The end of the Limux project happened all by itself, because Munich's mayor is an MS fan boy and said so openly at the time. It was not because of technical problems or anything else. It was just a huge kindergarten child.

So verbreitet man flächendeckend Fremdenhass.
Edit: Itiotentreff durch den ganzen Mist der passiert schon gar nicht mehr dran gedacht. PS: Der Verlauf ist ziemlich hart.

The Steam Deck has finally been surpassed — by a fork of Valve’s own experience - Bazzite turns the Asus ROG Ally X into today’s best handheld while putting Windows to shame.
Reply in thread
People have the wrong ideas. Steam Deck LCD was a pure test object anyway, where they saw that there was a market, which is why Valve also released the Oled version. Valve has left the hardware open so that you can also install other OS. Valve may also see competition there, even if the competition releases more powerful hardware. Valve's hardware is still secondary and steam, which is installed everywhere, is still their core product. The better hardware the competition brings, the more power-hungry games people will buy.
Steam Deck vs .... is just nonsense.

When did Steam add "Kernel Level Anti-Cheat" notice to the store pages?
Reply in thread
I'm sure it's irrelevant for desktops. But Valve wants to push linux and publishers came up with the stupid excuse and disabled support by 1 mouse click. But now Valve has the steam deck with steamOS. So a platform can be provided for publishers. So yea its a good thing from valve telling publisher "fck ya for disabling Linux support"

Bambu Lab Firmware Update Forces Cloud Dependency & User Lock-In - AVOID THEIR 3D PRINTERS!
Reply in thread
Open source followers: what are bambulabs fans wondering about? It was clear from the beginning that closed source would end up like this and that the buyers would massively harm the open source community and the 3d print community.

The Enshittification of 3D Printers – Are We Losing What Made Them Great?
Reply in thread
The problem is people's stinginess. They want to save money and buy from China. The manufacturers help themselves to the OSS community but do not contribute anything - on the contrary, the manufacturers undercut the OSS alternatives enormously. They have no development costs or anything else to compensate. So that the OSS solutions do not finance the development for other companies and push themselves out of the market, the only option is to lock it in. It's the people who want to get into an expensive hobby on the cheap.
Edit: example about developing stats.
PrusaSlicer
PrusaSlicer is our own open-source in-house developed slicer software. The PrusaSlicer team consists of 13 full time developers. As of January 2024, we spent a total of 145,720 work hours developing PrusaSlicer (that’s over 16 years of non-stop work by one developer). While only about 10% of the original code remains, we are still extremely proud that PrusaSlicer is originally based on the open-source project Slic3r by Alessandro Ranellucci. Each of the source files has a short header with the list of all contributors. We believe this is the right way to acknowledge whose shoulders we're standing upon.
PrusaSlicer is a completely free, feature-rich, frequently updated tool that contains everything you need to export the perfect G-code for your 3D printer. Today, the PrusaSlicer code powers most slicers on the market.

Not forgetting the non-voters who only vent their frustration on social media. Or with their ridiculous useless peaceful protests. Just watching democracy being dismantled and only blaming the other side... by doing nothing you are 100% responsible. Finally start riots while it's still possible.
You call MAGA stupid... yet you seem to know the German history and still only peaceful protests come at most... The technique of suppression is so much more advanced... Drones etc are a dream... but just keep watching... Germany only made it out with the help of 2 world powers. Nobody can help you later!

America is currently waiting and sleeping through the time when a civil war or attacking the terrorists is possible. Germany would never have escaped the clutches of the Nazis without outside help. The stupid thing about a world power, however, is that once it has reached this status, nothing helps. Technology is now so advanced that it is no longer a problem.

Greenland visit cancelled after locals refuse to welcome Usha Vance
Moment "American representatives were seen in the city", were they outside the base? That would have been the moment to do to the Americans what they do to the tourists and have them arrested directly... Legally that shouldn't be a problem, after all it's a matter of national security, and there have already been more than enough hostile statements and indirect announcements of war.
