I don't know what the state of it is today, but one if the things that Snowden's leaks showed was that NSA was/is hording massive amounts if yet unencrypted data. So it's been going on for a while.

Don't need it cracked today if you can store all the encrypted data in the world existing now, waiting for the day cracking it becomes feasible. It might be a bit outdated, but boy would the AI companies still over that training set.

I really, really like fireworks. The louder and flashier the better. However since I've become a dog owner, befriending some war vets, and generally learning how disruptive they can be to both peoples and animals lifes, I've definitely grown in favour of restricting them quite heavily. I would be fine if they were only allowed at set times and places, so people can make plans to avoid or atend them and not have to worry about the bangs being all encompassing and randomly going off the entire week before an event.

It's on purpose... It's like a well timed cut off scream or "FUU" in a video. It adds to the humour, like we weren't suppose to see that part. It's the pornhub tab in someone's browser.

I have a coworker who has always been shoddy at writing code, but especially understanding it. He loves AI, he creates large overly engineered and sometimes faulty PRs because of a bug the AI found. I can't ask him to reason about the code because he doesn't understand it. He might think he does or has a vague top level of understanding of something. But ask him why he chose to use a Mutex instead of a @Volatile in kotlin and he might not even realise there were options.

And the endless cycle of pushing code by Claude, copilot leaves comments on GitHub, fixes by Claude, more comments from copilot... the PR just becomes a mess by the end of it. He doesn't have the ability to say "No more fixes, I'm happy with where it's at now" so it just keeps going. Help me 😭

They could also punish false claims. Currently the copyright holders (and not even that, just something that might vaguely sound like your stuff) can automatically send out strikes for any match in the system. The burden to prove it's fair use goes to YouTube channel, and if it's found to not be copyright infringement nothing happens to the fraudulent claimer.

A big step would be to discourage the copyright holders from shooting from the hip.
