As we learned from the Austistici affair, ICANN is not trustworthy, they are in bed with fascists if they are not fascists themselves.

We need an alternative.

It's almost like Cyberpunk has predicted that the entire internet would crash and burn in the 2020s...

Stinks that it's hard to set up a new internet. I've got nothing to hide but I don't like being watched like this.

And if you don't, they'll increase the scope of what needs to be hid until you do.

new internet

You're doing resistant wrong.
You need distributenet.

It solves the immediate query problem ICANN is enabling, but it doesn't solve the screen and chair problem with bad actors. When people think “I want to watch a movie!” They don't go “Cinema XYZ has listing FOHO at times XX:XX:XX during XX on XX.” They go “movie name, year, genre.”
Networks need to be design around utility, not fascist markers.

And wait for my alone-time to start because some bloke in England is stuck with a 20/4 connection? No thank you. :(

It's always "think of the children" when it comes to surveillance bullshit.

Gotta focus on a specific minority, thats how fascists work. Children, or accurately minors are the tool here, and discrimination is the scene.
