Is AI so effective to replace knowledge workers?

It's gotten much more expensive in the past month after AI companies changed their pricing models. They still aren't making money, so expect the price to be jacked up in 2027 as well.

I think eventually we'll reach a price point where companies will realize it's only worth it at certain tasks in certain situations. They're not gonna want to shell out serious cash so middle managers can have their emails written and read by computers.

Bookshop faces backlash for Pride display with person showing top surgery scars

“Vile. [An] insult to all real women who have had a mastectomy owing to breast cancer.”

How is this an insult at all? Are people who get cosmetic plastic surgery insulting people who get reconstructive plastic surgery after an accident?

These are not serious people and there's no point in engaging with them. No matter how you do it, they'll find some ridiculous reason to claim that representation is "insulting" or otherwise inappropriate.

JD Vance wildly claims Ilhan Omar ‘definitely committed immigration fraud,’ White House will ‘go after’ her

Remember, Elon Musk was in America on a student visa but working for his brother's company instead of attending school. That's visa fraud, which you're required to disclose on any subsequent visa or citizenship applications. He didn't, so he's also guilty of immigration fraud.

Anyone who runs on seizing his assets and locking that illegal immigrant in a detention facility gets my vote

Does anybody else feel like everything is off lately? What have you noticed is different?

I think it's mass anxiety caused by uncertainty across the board.

Political uncertainty as far right and authoritarian movements pick up speed in various democracies.

Labor market uncertainties due to companies tightening their belts in the face of economic uncertainty, and trying to replace workers with AI.

Economic uncertainty due to wars disrupting energy and supply chains and the looming specter of recession/depression.

Geopolitical uncertainty due to several ongoing wars and several tense situations that could devolve into actual conflicts, not to mention the major paradigm shift happening where the US is actively ceding its position as a global leader to China.

Climate uncertainty as we refuse to address climate change and burn mountains of coal to power plagiarized chat bots.

The weirdest part is everybody is for the most part pretending everything is normal while silently being anxious on their own.

Trump Accuses Obama of Treason in Unhinged Crashout About Black People

claiming that Obama made $120 million from Obamacare

This guy has been pumping and dumping the entire market over and over since the beginning of his administration. Not to mention he's actively working on taking TEN BILLION dollars from US taxpayers by filing a bullshit lawsuit against his own IRS. Even if Obama had made $120 million off the ACA, which he didn't, it would be a drop in the bucket compared to all the naked fraud and corruption coming from the current administration.
