In your scenario a man will likely have more descendants than a woman, so genes that arise promoting male children would be favored. If you reverse the ratio and the population is overwhelmingly male then being female gives you an advantage and genes promoting female children would become favored. So you get a tug of war that balances out at roughly 50/50. This is known as Fischer's principle.

Sure, why not? I think the disconnect is the people who think it is silly don't attach any importance to the order. So asking, "Would you put the most important person last?" is a non-starter as the thinking is that the CC field ends up as a list is an artifact of how email works and isn't imbued with a sense of ordering or ranking of importance. The ordering of the list could be a indicative of who came to mind first, how your email contacts are ordered, or even how a policy is written but not indicative of who you think is most important or senior.

I think it is really easy to get overwhelmed because there are people who really geek out over coffee and that level of geeking out isn't necessarily required to find something you enjoy more than what you do now. It is a bit like bread, you can use a bread machine with the recipe booklet that comes with it and get something so much tastier than store brand sandwich bread but all the folks talking about bakers percentages or high hydration sourdough techniques can make it seem like you need a degree to even think about not buying bread from the store.

I use a French press (which come in a variety of sizes) and I find it way less intimidating than some other options. If the idea of actually brewing the coffee is something you are worried about James Hoffmann, a name you'll see mentioned plenty around these parts, has a playlist of his techniques for different brewing methods (link) and a beginner's guide playlist (link). The first one will help you know if one seems less intimidating or works better with the equipment you have or can afford and the latter will introduce you to some basic concepts and things to consider.

If you are trying to approach it without any established preferences I'd say go for a variety. You might find the additive or no additive preference changes depending on the coffee (such as preferring light roasts black and dark roasts with milk) or the brewing method (finding straight espresso too strong but loving a nice cappuccino). You'll never know until you try.

I keep going back to Star Trek Online for some star ship pew pew. I usually get a month or two in going back over the story arcs and participating in events until the constant event schedule makes me realize I'm trapped in the grind and not playing any other games. So I drop it to break free and play the rest of my game library. The community isn't something I really interact with as pretty much all of the game content is playable solo or antisocial (the team content is easy enough you can just random queue and don't really have to talk or strategize with them). It was a simplistic grescale scenario devoid of unnecessary features. Think a simple and fast 3D render from the 90s or something. So everything was grescale, the person had no gender (or even features), and pushed a baseball sized sphere on a simple rectangular table made of indeterminate materials. Now I can picture something more detailed if required or desired but my mind focused on the mechanics of it all and kept details to a minimum. Asking for these details afterwards doesn't generate them retroactively.

That is the situation in my household. My wife is one of those people who goes overboard on the primary filling and throws the proportions off. It isn't Katz's deli levels but it is noticeable.

A non-driver would get a state issued ID card which contains all the same personally identifying information but instead of being both a license to drive and proof of ID it is just proof of ID.
