r/Android is now on the Fediverse!

Crazy. Android was one of, if not THE first, subreddit I subscribed to when I joined Reddit. I was rooting my Galaxy S Edge.. Before a shitload of major subreddits were even created.. Here we are, almost 12 years later, starting over. Now I'm on my 2 year old GS 21 Ultra

YSK: Browsing "ALL" at work might get you pulled into an office, even with NSFW off.

Fuck that. Our company gives us phones because they know they're secure. And we don't use them for anything but work related apps. I still make all my phone calls from my personal or office phone

I say, "We," but that's not entirely true. There are a couple of jackasses that do everything on them, but I assume the company can see it of they want to. So, fuck that

You just need to pull yourself up by the bootstraps.

I have a job I love 99% of the time. And I have hobbies. I worked really fucking hard to get to where I am. 80+ hour weeks for months at a time for years.

We also have other younger guys come in, and some of them want to learn, and they go right on up the chain. Then, we have people that want things handed to them, don't wanna do anything, and wonder why they're not getting promotions. I've even given them incentives, raises, and tried to coach them on what they should do to meet a goal we both set. Some just want to point fingers and blame everyone else, and never take responsibility for their actions

But we have more success stories than "failures." It's good company to work for.

Lemmy is so good right now because there are no kids here

Those kids would be fine here. It's the "dumb" people that probably sit thru 5 minutes of Youtube ads or Twitch ads. It blows me away how many people put up with that stuff, and think it's normal.

I don't really think its even kids. I think its 'adults' that have only joined the internet since Facebook dragged them online via their phones in the mid 2010s.. The techy people are normally pretty chill. Old Reddit was full of nerds, and it was pretty nice

Im blaming cell phones for ruining the internet. It sure as fuck has hurt the gaming community

Goodbye RIF

I REALLY wish another app would use the same drop-down menu RiF had. I loved that I could just type "fli" and it would sort thru all my subs and show "flightsim" and "microsoftflightsim"

That was the main reason I stuck with it the entire time.

**this seems to be the theme of the season mateys**

I wonder if they'll ever make that impossible. I used to go on a couple of 6 hour drives twice a week for a long time. A lot of the drive didn't have cell service, as it was thru a bunch of mountains. I ended up making a python script that downloaded podcast episodes to listen to, and to force my brother to watch Your Mom's House, when he was with me on the drive.

It was surprisingly simple to do this.

Labor “shortage”

Fucking grocery prices are up big time too. I like to grill Ribeyes, and the price has almost doubled. Everything has gone up, but like you said, the restaurants are even crazier. $14 at a McDonalds for a skinny guy like me? Fuck that
