It's crazy that once you see them, they all pop out. I'm able to easily switch back and forth between perspectives. Neato!

I think this is why people that find four leaf clovers find tons of four leaf clovers. I asked my cousin how he does it so well years ago and he said, they look different I’m not sure how else to describe it, they kinda pop out at you. About a month ago I found my first one and now I’ve found almost twenty.

I definitely feel luckier, like now when I drive I don’t feel that burden to wait until a stop light to check my phone or look up every once in a while to make sure there’s no trees or headlights coming at me with their bad luck vibe/s

Interesting how noticing just one makes all of them pop out

The key is ::: spoiler click to reveal spoiler looking at the vertical lines only, which becomes easier once you notice that they form a pattern :::

No idea what everyone is talking about. I don't see any circles. Is this just one of those "lets see how long these dumbasses will stare at a screen" jokes?

Nope, it's real. You gotta unfocus your eyes a bit, but the circles are made of the vertical lines in between the horizontal ones.

if you are having trouble, use the Magic Eye trick where you hold it closer to your face and slowly pull it away

I just want to say that this is not one the those magic eye thingies. This advice isn't helpful here. What does help is telling people that the circles are between those rectangles.

Or looking from an acute angle

At first I didn't see them, but then I let my eyes relax a bit then bam! They jumped out at me and more I can't unsee them lol

No offense but that sounds like the most pretentious "the sun blinded me" I have ever read :D

I was serious when I wrote "no offense" as I didn't meant to offend you. Then i wrote "it sounds" to implies that I don't think that it is what you were saying but my interpretation of it and at the end I wrote that emoji to bring across that it was meant in jest.

As you wrote yourself its hyperbolic. we don't know each other so its fair to interpret it as an attack but it was not meant that way.

If I hurt your feelings I am sorry that wasn't what I was going for. If I was I would tell you that straight.

There is a very big difference between circles and disks!

4
lemm.ee

I wouldn't really call them circles. very jaggered arcs.

7

This is the word play that makes this a trick. When we look for circles we automatically look for a curved line. Why wouldn't we? But these shapes aren't circles.

Unfocuse your eyes a bit, look at the intersections of two boxes, and blink.

The circles are the beveled edges of what your brain keeps telling you are raised trapezoids

it might help to focus on the center on the image for a while. Don't concentrate too much, just wait for your brain to recognize the shapes.

I noticed the circles before noticing the other structure, at first I tought this is the notintreresting page

4

I'm the other way, even when I did finally see them it was a strain to keep seeing them, the circles keep disappearing back into rectangle sides unless I give myself a headache trying to focus on the circles..

2

It took me about 30 seconds before giving up and looking for clues in the comments to help my dumbass out but the effect is still really impressive!

6

I'm not familiar with this one, but I guess we're more biased towards processing stimuli as 3D over 2D, as we live in a 3D environment?

I mean, anytime I stop focusing on the discs, I default to the embossed squares. But maybe this is different for others?
