Steam Deck and SteamOS hit 20,000 playable games

And I still feel like their definition of playable is a bit narrow. I regularly play “unplayable” games on my steam deck without much issue. You just might need to fiddle about with the controller settings, compatibility modes and use the built in magnifying tool and keyboard once in a while. It’s really not the end of the world.

DAE?

For me the relief comes from finally being able to let go of the guilt I felt for not getting it done before. Maybe you don’t feel guilty so you don’t get the relief after the guilt?

We wouldn’t need the Epstein files to prove DJT’s guilt if society just trusted women in the first place.

Innocent until proven guilty (I say that as a woman AND a survivor of SA).

Then again he was proven guilty in other cases. Seeing as those weren’t enough to remove him from power permanently I am not sure what this would do. If I had to bet on if he assaulted minors I’d go for heck yes. I’d bet nearly everything I have on that. So I’d be a pretty bad jury member of this case ;) anyway: the more evidence there is, the harder it is to ignore. Victim statements are pretty good evidence, but more is better.

*Permanently Deleted*

Our one cat has learnt to communicate with us using buttons and currently knows 44 words. 3 weeks ago I started teaching other verbal commands. She knows “give paw”, “sit” and “come here”. She also frequently opens doors and drawers and breaks into everything she can. Also she instantly manipulates any visitors by begging to be picked up and giving their nose a little lick. She appreciates car rides and going on adventures.

Our other cat licks smooth plastic, bites sticks off of plants and looks behind the tv to see where characters went after they walked off screen. Anything unknown (like new people) sends him into a panic, but usually he flees exactly into the wrong spots (like the exact spot those new people are obviously walking towards).

Lock him up too

I expect a bunch of people and rich donateurs from both sides of the isle. This is a rich pedophiles (and their friends) vs everyone else type of deal and not a left vs right thing.

TIL there is a law called Marchetti's Constant. Humans only tolerate commutes of less than ~1 hour. Housing outside that limit will fail.

I’ve in my entire life never had this short a commute. All the following is one-way commute: 45 minutes to school growing up. 2,5 hours to university 5 days a week for years. 1,5-2 hours to work since. Since the pandemic only 2 days a week though, which is a relief.

Sure it would be nice if it were shorter, but using public transport helps. At least I get to relax, play a game, knit, etc. And not living in a polluted city and having a yard makes it worthwhile.

People who have permanently moved to another country, what gave you the opportunity and was it worth it?

Moved from Austria to the Netherlands at the age of 19. I moved in with my (then) boyfriend so that made the transition easier.

It was weirdly more of a culture shock than I had anticipated. Mainly because lots of things (besides the architecture) are so similar that the differences kind of sneak up on you. Having German and English as a base made Dutch easy enough. Got an advanced language certificate and ended up getting the nationality, found a study I liked and plenty of job opportunities. It has been over 15 years now and I regret nothing.

The only thing that didn’t work out was that relationship.
