If someone from the 1950s suddenly appeared, what would be the most difficult thing to explain about life today?

I'm going to go on a different angle on this one and say that we are much tougher on sexual harassment. I feel like a lot of people from the 1950s who have grown up on pulp sci-fi like Flash Gordon could accept a lot of modern technology and the internet as basically just magic. To be fair is how a lot of modern people also accept it. But I don't think they would be able to process the move towards egalitarianism that we have taken.

That is not to say that modern society is egalitarian only that we have made good strides in achieving that aim.

Edit: Turns out Gordon is from the '70s, but other pulp sci-fi exist so my statement stands.

It's important that he lives by a code

Why is it Batman's duty to forfeit his morals and kill the Joker and not on the state of New Jersey for their revolving door of crime in their penitentiaries like blackwater and appalling lack of proper facilities to deal with dangerous and deranged meta humans instead sticking them in a rotting facility made in the 20's.

Hell why isn't this on the federal government after so many years of chronic and sustained neglect. They have what amounts to a nightmare scenario for the department of defense and just let it sit like a festering wound.

Why do we blame a single crazy billionaire, instead of the horrendous circumstances surrounding them.

Old Reddit used to be obsessed with bacon. To be fair much of the internet was at that time.

A call sign you could use to identify a redditor in person was to ask "when does the narwhal bacon" with the response "it bacons at midnight".

Hence where bacon reader derives its name from.

Counterpoint there has been a measurable decrease in quality of most forms of media as more and more stuff are soulless cash grabs. It used to be that games shipped completed, now they ship broken cost more and expect you to pump even more money into them on top of that. The last move I saw that I cared about was Dune. Many of the restaurants near me have reduced their quality of ingredients and staff, now when going to the nearby sandwich shop my order is wrong more often than it is correct.

What do we do when the world is measurably becoming worse?
