Mississippi officer resigns after fatal shooting of 1-year-old in car outside Walmart

A Mississippi police officer has resigned, officials said Friday — just days after the state said the officer’s actions were justified in a June shooting that resulted in the death of a 1-year-old boy and led to widespread outrage.

The incident unfolded June 14 when Senatobia officers and Tate County deputies followed Kohen Wiley’s mother and her friend to their car. “Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver drove in the direction of the officers, almost striking one,” the Mississippi Department of Public Safety said in a statement at the time.

“Stop the car!” officers yell, body camera footage released by DPS Thursday shows, but the car continues forward appearing to move toward at least one of the officers before Foster, who’s standing in front of the vehicle towards the passenger’s side, shoots into the car.

Mississippi officer rEsIgNs 4 months after he murdered a 1 year old, but only because it was in the news again when the blatantly openly racist administration of the state gave him a free pass and it finally got attention of national news.

Resigned? Did he getting a fucking deal from ICE? The murderer would fit in with those sack of shit neo-Nazi racists.

Seems the women were fleeing, the cops put themselves in the path of the vehicle, then used that as a safety justification for lethal force

It could easily have been another civilian being struck by a stray bullet. A shoplifted fleeing is not as bad as an innocent person being shot. Cops already had the women's faces and plate number

Departments need a policy against officers intentionally blocking a vehicle with their body

Just wave at them as they drive by. They can’t hide. They’re on camera. No no. Have to shoot because that’s all you can do as a cop.

It's interesting seeing the comments here opposed to the ones on videos or news sites. A lot of people blamed the mother for this. At the end of the day to me it doesnt matter what she did, escalating the situation for stealing diapers to the point that they tried murdering her is never acceptable and should not be normalized to be. Just let her go, they got the plates just pick her up at her place in an hour. Why do we need to end anyones life over theft? Crazy world...

They can shoot a baby for a $15 dollar theft but they can’t hold people stealing billions from the American and raping children people accountable . Nothing will improve until the parasite class lives in fear

You don't understand, that baby was coming right for him! He had to defend himself!

11

so he'sbasically thinks like an IOF mercenary . They just HAVE to 'defend themselves' against babies that ArentWhiteEnough©®™

I figure he resigned because that was the deal to get off scott free for the murder. No problem though, he can (and will) easily get hired at some other police dept.

Yes, they always completely cease any investigation into the incident once the cop involved resigns. They claim that since he's no longer an employee, they can't, as law enforcement, do anything about the ex-employees illegal acts.

17

This tracks unfortunately. If only there was a group of people responsible for upholding our laws. Maybe the avengers?

1

Pretty sure the mom is going to get a murder charge. There is no way they let her off using her baby as a human shield.

resigns? not fired? not jailed pending murder charges?

He'll crop up elsewhere. That's the standard playbook for these shitbirds.

28

And the nice thing about most rural police agencies letting their employees take their vehicle home with them is the tax payers get to pay for his fuel when he gets hired in the next county over.

He'll get a referral or transfer lol. And a new gun and a clip.

12

I would take a guess and say that if he resigns he can move to a new state or whatever and get a new job as a cop. If he waited to get fired he'd be on a list of some kind. Better to resign and move on than fight it, lose, and be unhireable.

To be honest I can't recall any story of a cop killing themselves after a bad shoot. That would require morals and shame.

They probably need a better man to do it for them.

PTSD is common in cops. Several officers that defended the capitol on Jan 6th committed suicide

5

They might have felt like failures, and were betrayed by their country in the end.

This motherfucker should feel like a failure, but probably doesn’t.

Sucks that it's more likely Hunter Foster has already been offered a job with a pay raise at some other Mississippi cop shop that likes his style. At least they finally released the fuckers' name so people can try to keep tabs on him.

30

Hunter Foster? Are you fucking kidding me? I guess I should not be surprised but holy shit.

10

Its weird that it was just some old white lady bigot that was empowered and entrusted by the public that said it was a justified killing, and now there goes that kids life and we have to move on.

Very weird world we have here.

Just to be hired by another department in all likelihood.

38

a republican on specifically, which likely dont have standards on how long they train a cop. he wouldnt make it in places like cali, or nyc as a cop, even though they are corrupt cops, they dont need more bad press.

You HAVE to Understand STUPID VIOLENT LIBTARDS that the Baby was ALREADY Born so it's OK to Shoot!

It's not supposed to be worth anything to anyone but him. This means he avoids any departmental punishment.

quite. surrender yourself to the station and admit to murder

5

Station ain't gonna do shit. Maybe try surrendering himself to the victim's family.

3

It seems fairly acceptable to meet a minor criminal matter with extreme force. It would seem disproportionate and that in using force in that way the police are taking on the role of judge and jury. If the rule of law is to hold then no one is above the law, not even if they are demented or wealthy.

Uh oh— did he wake up today with the realization he’s a child murderer? Quick— administer the prophylactics!!
