White supremacists believe white people should be in charge of things. That doesn't mean that a white supremacist needs to be white themselves.

She's a white supremacist too.

Yeah, the argument that republicans who aren't white simply want white people to be in charge doesn't hold up, since they're always surprised when they aren't treated with the same respect white supremacists give to each other. Instead, they honestly think that if they treat white supremacists with respect, they'll be respected in return.

Even after all that's happened, they can't understand that nearly 50% of the US population simply hates anyone with an arbitrarily high amount of melanin in their skin; they do it for no reason, and will never stop or make exceptions for the "good ones." This also applies to misogynists and women.

27

These people think "they are one of the good ones" and that they will be recognized as such, but in reality they'll only be used by these racists while they think they're useful. Surprise, you sold your kin for nothing.

3

Ignorance, in short. She thinks, among other similar things, that they'll let her alone if they think she's on their side. She's not quite understanding that people like that are damaged and don't (can't?) think of others different than themselves as anything but enemy regardless of what objective reality slaps them across the face with.

It's like some variation of Stockholm syndrome.

15

white supremecist that are white, occasionally will allow token minority when its "CONVENIENT", this is something conservative minorities dont get.

11

Certainly racism might have something to do with it, but, as Mr Global observes , she was recording a nearly empty rally that may have been an embarrassment to him. Then again, there were several others doing the same thing so racism definitely tracks here.

She's still supporting Trump and is claiming that if Trump knew about this then he'd take her side.

My god what incredible stupidity

65

It's likely not stupidity but for personal advancement, the party needs tokens to show they aren't racist, because they are, and it's long been true that a personality could make a good career uncle tomming for the party.

In a follow-up video, Louise said she doesn’t blame the Republican Party for the embarrassing incident. “[They] have loved me, and they have welcomed me with open arms. But Ken Paxton’s campaign manager, that person is 100 percent responsible for the disrespect that I received this evening.”

The individual leopard who ate my face was just a bad apple. I would certainly never hold it against the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party.

She learned absolutely nothing

GOOD TSAR

Yeah, it was hard to feel sorry for her after seeing the end of the video. For a minute I thought she was going to have an epiphany and realize "oh wait, I've been supporting the party of racists."

But nope, she justified it as just one bad apple.

7

one bad apple

You know what they say: one bad apple has no effect on the rest of the apples. Call it bad but leave with the apples as an example of how not to be.

Always worth a read whenever I see these stories.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_of_German_National_Jews

Despite the extreme nationalism of Naumann and his colleagues, the Nazi regime did not accept the Association of German National Jews as a legitimate intermediary. Following the passage of the Nuremberg Laws, the VnJ was declared illegal and dissolved on 18 November 1935. Naumann was arrested by the Gestapo the same day, and imprisoned at the Columbia concentration camp. He was released after a few weeks, and died of cancer in May 1939. Most other members and their families were murdered in the Holocaust.

Yes! Cognitive dissonance avoided! Good thinking, Louise!

68

You get it! People point to this sort of thing and call it cognitive dissonance. Nope. Dissonance is a painful mental state, this is the cope we're seeing.

It almost seems like she was pre-judged for some reason.

If only we had a term for that like.... prejudice or something?

I like prophylactic hatred. I think I'll start using that phrase from now on

20
lemmy.world

When I was originally typing this, I intended to write "preemptive hatred," but my brain wasn't brain-ing, so I wrote that instead and thought it was funny enough to not change it.

That's what I like to call a "Freudian autocorrect"

12
lemmy.world

Thank you, I'll have that little turn of phrase from you in exchange.

7

I mean, yeah lmao. Being hurt all the time is probably so normal she doesn't even recognize when she's bleeding.

12

Maybe start respecting yourself and not campaign for a party and candidates that hate your very guts for being black and a woman.

22

After decades of fighting for civil rights, there now people like that backward woman waiting to end up being shuffled to the back of the bus. Or seeing race-only toilets. Or having to use a Green Book just to go across the US. Or letting the fucking Kluxers march all over DC.

13

another person thinking that being the "Good One" will confer upon them Honorary White status, when it all it does is make them a fool and get them used as a tool until their usefulness is overwith.

16
lemmy.world

What's wrong with those people? Why do they vote for their enemies, and then expect to be spared?

21

I've met women like this. It was delusion. They said they were influenced by the "wisdom" old people had in their church, and were rich Dallas suburb women. Drove jaguars. 2 of them worked probation/parole and liked telling their clients if Trump can be president as a felon you can do anything.

18

In cases like this, when it doesnt make a lick of sense, most paths lead to religion.

11

There's no incompatibility with this.

If she's lucky to be rich enough, she could survive this. Otherwise there's OnlyFan.

Look at Trump is only chance in life was to be born with a silver spoon in the mouth. On top of that white. You remove him this, believe me short term memory, complex of superiority and dumb as shit...

I'm not sure that he would have live long.

Black MAGA

An oxymoron is upset with the disrespect she's receiving?

I can't imagine being so delusional.

14

I know a lesbian married couple - one white and one black - who are fervent MAGA supporters.
I just can't believe that they don't see what is coming for them down the road.

7

Also, "Thelma Louise" is a really bad name choice if you want anyone to find you on any search engine ever.

Besides just being absolutely dumb. "My name is Bert Ernie"

Wtf?

14

Because she didn't reply "yessa, masta." Why the fuck would a black woman be a Republican?? Fuck her. Let leopards eat her face.

29

I honestly think The Colonel might treat them (namely the LAMF "victims") better, and I know the atrocities that The Colonel perpetrated against chickens.

6

Ken Paxton is well known for the amount of respect he shows to minorities. She's probably just looking at the absolute value instead of the actual value.

10

and only the ones that give them the most clout, and she is not one of them to begin with.

They send hecklers to opposition events and assumed the other side does the same. They saw that she was black and decided she was one of those.

23
4amreply

Yes, that’s why they kicked the black woman out of the Ken Paxton rally, surely because she was probably a Democrat plant

12

didn't think a black person could possibly be so stupid to support a white supremacists and assumed she was a plant to instigate shenanigans.

10

I have to believe they profiled her and thought the odds that she isn't a threat was to high. Basically, "is this person secretly a Democrat trying to sneak in and ask disagreeable questions or record things we say and post them online?" Then they looked at their "who is likely to not agree with our agenda list" and her skin color and sex didn't match up with the majority of their voter base.

11

The best way to convince people to vote Democrat? Let them a short talk with a Republican.
