This one makes less sense though given that Bose is THE brand known for ANC. Does Logitech do ANC too?

What makes you think they don't? Any serious brand selling headsets has products with this feature.

For me it's a bit too perfect. A human could definitely have achieved the same result, but I'm not sure someone who would spend this much time perfecting an image like that would add the glow on the floor that seemingly comes from nowhere with no purpose.

I agree with you, detecting AI slop is becoming extremely hard for me. Sometimes, like in this example, you can ask for what purpose something was done. Why is the underglow in there, and where does the light come from? A human staring at this image for at least a handful of hours would have made decisions about it, someone generating the image wouldn't really think about it and just go "eh looks cool".

26

Implausible design/architecture and scale. I don’t believe anyone would go in so much lengths to build this so cleanly in this style just for few likes on a shitpost (although, I admit some people are crazy committed) Prompting an AI is easier and cheaper. So, most likely AI slop.

29

It's getting much harder to tell, for me it's like somebody put the smoothness on max, like it's too polished.

3

For me it’s because it looks too much like a headphone. If you look at the seat, it basically has the headphone controls on it which makes no sense.

If a human was to make this, it would be a toilet that looks like a bose headphone. But instead it looks like headphone components morphed into a toilet.

I wasn't sure, so I checked the comments. My suspicions where raised because it seemed like a lot of image editing effort for the joke and also the glass looked wrong-ish.

Sometimes they don't, happened in my hotel room once. Water just got on the floor for no reason and the drain was slow

1

Didn't think I'd be giving useful advice in a shitpost, but you can actually replace the foam pad of a BOSE headset. I've done it before, and it made it a lot nicer for the forseeable future.

3

Their toilets do play sounds and music to cancel out those other sounds

also, to hell with this AI slop shit. All memes now should include a second pane that includes the process workflow, including Photoshop/GIMP layers if applicable. I want to see your work!

That’s why this is an intentionally terrible crop of an otherwise very popular and well-known meme.

Perfect, not one flaw. Super Intelligence indeed! dontlooktooclose

You wasted resources on removing the glow and adding something I could've done in Paint. Good job.

10

Buddy, I’ve been doing graphic design like this for over 30 years. In my head, I’m setting everything on fire every time I create a new layer in Photoshop, lol. But that’s in my head, not in reality, because I do it myself rather than with AI.

Edit: what teeny-weenie asshole thought that this comment was enough to downvote this? Lol.

Art requires sacrifice

Good thing this isn't art tho or I'd feel bad about flushing all that water down the noise cancelling toilet

Now THAT'S what I call a workflow

lol

You can just AI generate the Photoshop GUI with whatever layers you want. That wouldn't really prove anything.

Go on then. Do that. I’d like to see one done that is believable when examined closely enough.

I’ll believe it when I see it. And, of course, show your workflow. I don’t want you taking some screenshot of Photoshop from your own desktop or from Google images and claiming that it was AI in some absurdly ironic move.

10

I said you can. I certainly can't use this newfangled AI stuff.

Professing such ignorance after making such a specific accusation is extremely obvious bad faith bullshit.

And with such Trumpian weasel-wordplay…

2
TrickDacyreply
lemmy.world

That's an overreaction. Especially considering this person is professing to be anti-ai. Why would they want to use it to prove it works to some rando?

A little sensitive and defensive for someone who can’t prove their position.…

You got really upset and compared someone to trump because they said it's possible to fake things with AI but they didn't want to take the time to do it themselves. Nah you're right, I am sensitive and defensive for noticing that.

-4

That’s inherently implying that I would, which is extremely insulting considering everything I just said.

You can

Maybe you can, but a reasonable person wouldn’t

7

Sorry, I can’t hear you over the sound of my ass flushing (or whatever is happening in this meme)

2
lemmy.world

It’d be really uncomfortable to use. It’d be like sitting on headphones, but with more texture. Doing your business on that would be pretty unpleasant.

2
foodandartreply
lemmy.zip

It would become REALLY unpleasant once the "pleatherette" coating on the seat starts to disintegrate and stick to your skin, like the ear cushions do.

For the premium prices they charge for their kit, Bose plastics break down pretty damn quick.

I've got a pair of Denon cans (AH-D210s) from 1998 with cords that are as supple and nice as the day they were bought (ofc the pads have been replaced multiple times since the foam always goes flat first) and the plastic on my Bose earbud wires disintegrated within 18 months.. Color me unimpressed.

Ugh.

6

Ugh, that sounds awful. My headphones always break down before I can replace them, so I really hope that doesn’t happen with these ones. It’s ridiculous that Bose products can deteriorate so quickly, especially considering how expensive they are. As always, AI is making strange pictures :P

lemmy.world

Look guys, I hate slop as much as the next commenter, but maybe if we overwhelmed the image market with shitposts that damaged IP and brands reputation they'd be forced to regulate copyrighted material use so these fuckers can't steal shit and put out slop?

14

Yes

I've honestly thought that taking the visible impact of copyright infringement

(and turning it up to eleven and keeping it there,)

might eventually create pressure from corporations on governments for the regulation of unrestricted use of AI to generate images

This is for the right cheek. You get another for the left cheek. This positions the hole between them, which means you poop on the floor.

LOL! I gotta say you must have a magnificently large, stout ass to use such donut seats for each cheek!

Goodness, the mind boggles!

2

"Magnificenly" would not be a word I'd associate with shame, my gloriously endowed friend!

LOL!

Imagine a toilet so far from anyone that no matter what you do to it you will be the only witness.

Now don’t move there because I called it.

slrpnk.net

Dude, this isn't a new idea. My grandma's place had a padded seat like this and that was in the 90s.

4
jaybonereply
lemmy.zip

Padded seats seemed to be kind of common in the 80s. I haven’t really seen them since.

Edit: wait that link is weird. They were like regular toilet seats that you could swing up or down to raise and lower. In that link it looks like they are (semi)permanently attached to the porcelain? The ones I’m talking about were not like that.

5
jaybonereply
lemmy.zip

Oh wait. Right. Those were a different thing though. Those were like removable covers. I think they had like an elastic on the bottom, kind of like a fitted sheet. So you could remove and wash them.

The ones I’m thinking of were more like OP or the parent comment. It was like a vinyl, with some padding inside. So not machine washable, but you could wipe it down.

4
bss03reply
infosec.pub

Still, one crack or tear in the vinyl and who knows what starts growing inside one of those padded seats? Maybe I'm being unreasonable, but even as a child of the 80s those seats always gave me the ick. (Of course, that's not how I would have said it then.)

The master bath in my childhood home is carpeted, and when I was a child we also had those carpet-like removable lid covers with the elastic underneath.

2

just imagine the squish of accumulated liquids being forced out through tiny cracks every time you sit down on a covered sponge.
