I have no idea what Tesseract is, but I'm a bit annoyed that I'm not on the list. What do I need to do?

Oh yeah? We're you too woke? Did you suggest that trans people and immigrants deserve human rights? Did you imply that fascism or genocide is bad?

Or maybe you just enjoyed that the voices of people that did were silenced in secret?

Nah, I just thought it sounded like "I stuck a flute in my pussy."

And I know the tesseract person threw a fit and got fussy.

I am not confident AI would be able to so authentically recreate fdm 3d printer defects. Looks rather real to me.

6

That's what I thought at first, then I didn't have confidence in my own abilities because my brain thinks I'm stupid.

2

Well don't always believe what your brain thinks...that would be stupid!!

2

Defects is right. The seriffs on the text at the top in particular are problematic. I really should get a 0.2mm nozzle dialed in one of these days, but I have other projects to contend with at the moment.

I also can't figure out just what the fuck Arachne is doing with the top layer perimeters in the 11 and 12 o'clock positions. Something about the text causes it to insist on shaping it that way, wheres the rest of the radial area is a nice geometrically consistent starburst pattern that catches the light nicely with that silk PLA. Oh well, it was only meant to be a physical shitpost anyway.

2

It's very much real. The other commenter is correct; here is my post in the 3D Printing community about it. That contains the link to Printables where you can download the model, and also the link to my shop page (nudge, nudge) where you can buy one if you ain't got a printer.

(Before everyone gets mad at me, I have these priced at basically cost to keep myself in filament and electricity. I "ship" these by bunging them in an ordinary envelope, and postage alone is 82 cents out of $1.50.)

It would actually be quite interesting to see what Lemmy looks like with this list in place, it will probably just be Lady Butterfly and a handful of others. He even banned Violet.

How did lady butterfly not get banned? She posts LGBT and feminist stuff.

13

Certain communities he banned entirely so maybe she just posts to banned communites? (What happened to quokka and definetelynotJessica, I believe)

5

I'm not banned on Tesseract, because I'm a big dick and the Tesseract dev loves big dicks.

Did someone backup the list?
I just got back from a 2-week holiday and missed the event, now it has been taken down and I'm dying of curiosity.

Yay, I'm on there. I was worried for a second.

i seriously do not know how i am not on the list, but i'll go huff my own farts and think up a reason

3
lemmy.world

Yes, me too, but the list is so long almost every active user is on it.

12

Yeah, the blocking seems pretty indiscriminate. Even I'm blocked, and I'm the sweetest, most innocent little dope-smoking bunny on the Fediverse!

Which ban is more prestigious? Regex or regular ban?

2

Yep

I assume it's because I despise Zionists, would happily see every conservative burn and look forward to the fall of the US (once I get my fiancée out of there)

6

In case I'm not banned on tessaract (spelling?) I hate zionists as well and conservatives have been the worst in the US and for the US since the beginning

8

Lemmy is confusing, I don't understand this banning controversy even after asking my pal Claude. Need an ELI5. What would happen if I got banned?

The dev made it so that if you used his frontend it would download a secret list of instances, communities, people, and words that they hand curated because he didn't like them.

This had the effect of a ban list that the user was unaware of, but really it would be more accurate to call it a censor list. The dev was censoring the Fediverse.

He mostly censored things that were "left-wing" or "woke", and he seemed to hate human rights advocates dispite having many alts on a star trek instance.

Later he effected a ddos attack within his "goodbye" message, although he is still quite active in the Fediverse and uses many alts to defend his own actions. One of those alts probably already posted a shit take on this post.

The easiest way to explain this if you have no clue how fediverse works is - imagine there is a third party reddit, discord, X or some other platform's client that lets you browse their website/content. The developer of that client made a list of users whose comments/posts are hidden in said client. In reality, the client does not have significant user base and this affects almost nothing. Some users might not see your comments, but that's really their problem more than mine/ours at this point.

4

If you got banned by Tesseract, your posts would not be visible to anyone using Tesseract as their frontend. Even if you were not banned by wherever you are trying to post, explicitly blocked by the Tesseract user, or filtered out in some other way, your comments and posts would be hidden. And this hidden centralized blacklist was unilaterally administered by the dev of Tesseract.

Full disclosure: I got a regex on the blacklist 😁
